Bakin’ with Bacon and The King!

Standard

Hello from Castle Baconia where I – Teddy Bacon King – shall bake for you today!

Our Saturday activity here at the castle is to whip up some fabulous baconized recipe and today I’ve got a doozy.    Everybody loves pizza – right?   Sometimes bacon is “an” ingredient in a pizza recipe but not often is it the STAR.    Well it sure is for this recipe.    You’ll see what I mean!

Bacon Pizza

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pizza crust about 10-12 inches- homemade or ready-made but it’s up to you!
  • 3/4- 1 lb bacon, cooked and cut into bite sized pieces ( If I have a 1 full pound I usually use it, the more bacon the better.)
  • 1/3 cup pizza sauce
  • 2-3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

DIRECTIONS

  1. Spread crust on pizza pan.
  2. Spread sauce on crust
  3. Sprinkle with half of the cheese.
  4. Sprinkle bacon on top of cheese.
  5. Top with remaining cheese.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for 12-14 minutes of until crust is done and cheese is slightly browned.

Well if this isn’t a BACON BONANZA I don’t know what is!!!

I haven’t experimented but I’m thinking other cheese would be good too although you know how much fun mozzarella cheese is and it’s so traditional for pizza.    Sorry about a totally baconized topping for all of you who don’t eat bacon but I bet you could devise a version of this “single ingredient with cheese” recipe with chicken – or shrimp???   Oh yeah………….just keep it simple.

Have a PAWSOME Saturday!!   See you next week here in the kitchen.

Yes – it’s good to be King!

    • I hear you…….there must be some things that won’t aggravate gall stones – at least I hope you can find somethings that you like other than just fruit and veg (although they are my faves). I often think I could give up all meat and be happy enough but then I think about bacon and a good burger and all of that goes out the window! LOL Hugs, Pam

  1. That looks sooo good. I bought bacon last week and added it to a chicken and broccoli pizza- bacon makes everything better. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day! XO

  2. Good Morning ☀️ It sounds good to me. My oldest son used to like to help me make pizza when he was young. I would make yeast dough and we got an electric pizza 🍕 maker too. Remember those? It was a lot of fun. I think we gave him the pan but it could go in the oven easy enough. Thanks for the recipe Teddy and Pam. You look so cute as king Teddy.

  3. Mom says that this one sounds yummy, but she thinks she would add some mushrooms and black olives as well. That combo just sounds good to her. • You know what? My Mom says that pizza is one of those things you can just “make up” with anything that strikes your fancy and it always turns out wonderful. We think your Mom has some great ideas on the pizza and as long as there’s bacon you can’t go wrong!
