What a week! Lots to be thankful for certainly. We had a wonderful Christmas and we hope if you celebrated it – you did too! I am so thankful Santa visited me again this year AND that many of my buddies and pals sent me surprises. We will need to step up our game next year – people were so kind and generous this year. Now I can relax under the Christmas tree again until it comes down after New Year. No more boxes under there – JUST ROOM FOR ME TO STRETCH OUT AND SNOOZE!
Thankfully Angel Sammy sent his poem to me last night and I’ll share it below.
Hello Poetry Friends! I hope you had a fabulous Christmas!
I was watching while my little earth-side brother Teddy opened his Christmas presents and I know for SURE he had a nice Christmas………….so did my parents. I was there – I am sure they knew that. We at the Rainbow Bridge enjoy watching our families back home – THAT is the best gift of all.
Now did you write a poem to share this week? Hope so – let us know in comments if you did. We want to read it! If you haven’t written one – why not try to? I give you a photo every week to use as inspiration for your poem. Easy! Here’s last week’s photo and my poem follows.

Silent woods and the smell of pine
Gliding along like this is so sublime
The snow is crunchy under my sleigh
The horses laugh with a gentle neigh
Day after Christmas through fresh fallen snow
It’s my personal tradition – my own private show
The peace of the woods and the quiet all around
Sleigh bells ring but my heart sings along with the sound
When I get back home from my ride in the woods
Leftover turkey and trimmings will taste extra good!
There was no “white Christmas” back in my home in Virginia for Mom, Dad and Teddy but here at the Rainbow Bridge where it’s always beautiful we can have a touch of snow if we want – and some of you MIGHT remember that I used to LOVE to play in the snow. My parents always thought that was crazy but I really did love it.
No matter if you had snow or played at the beach for your holiday this year I hope it was wonderful………………….AND I also hope you will join us NEXT week and write a poem to share – here’s the photo I picked out for our inspiration for NEXT Thursday!
Yes I know I do a lot of little kids photos – but they have such great expressions on their faces and do such funny things – they take SUPER photos. This one on his first (probably) bike is too darn cute but I bet we find ourselves writing some good poetry with this one!!
SO – Have a great week – join me here next Thursday………………and I hope you have a wonderful New Year!
Yay 2020! Love, Angel Sammy
Thanks Angel Sammy……………..loved your poem and I just know a lot of our poetic friends will share theirs with us and everyone else too! I will hope for a happy new year for everybody too.
