YAY! Thursday is here – time to Hop with Brian ‘s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop – this month with Thanksgiving coming is the perfect month for THANKFULNESS! This week I’m really thankful that we are enjoying a “real” Fall. What’s “real” ? We have crisp mornings and days and very cool nights………..and best of all – lots of beautiful leaves. I’m sure our landscaper doesn’t like all those leaves so much since he’s the one who has to get them all OUT OF HERE (or blown into the woods) since Mom and Dad gave up that chore last year.
I’m also thankful that I received Angel Sammy’s poem in time to post it today. I always worry that something will interrupt the wi-fi at the Bridge but I should know better – they have SPECIAL CONNECTIONS there so no worry about weather or problems…….they ALWAYS get through!!!
♥ ♥ ♥
Happy Thursday My Poetic Friends!
Time for us to share our poetry – you know – the poems we’ve written based on the photo I gave you last week for inspiration………………I bet you have some doozies don’t you – well share share share…….just put in our comments that you did a poem and give us your blog link and we’ll HAPPILY read it. I thought it was a “cute” photo I found for you so let’s see what you did with it.
Here’s my contribution AND after it, I will give you the photo for NEXT Thursday – just think – you have a whole week to be inspired and write a poem based on the photo. It’s a lot of fun and if you haven’t done this before – TRY TRY TRY!
“We Promised”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©November 6, 2019
Once upon a time we promised devotion
We declared our love with REAL emotion
The years rolled by and yes we got older
We may not be HOT but neither did we get colder!
Our love is as bright as the moon up above
Getting older is NOT the end of our love
Our bodies have changed and our hair is now gray
But I still feel a thrill when these words you still say
“I promised to love you forever and a day….
and you’re still the one who takes my breath away”…………….
Aging is tough on people and animals. Our health gets more fragile, our bones break more easily, our bodies wear out but in our hearts and minds, we are forever young. I remember the day Mom and Dad helped me make my trip to the Bridge – in my head I was a kitten but my body no longer could support the kitten I was in my mind. Mom says it’s that way for humans too. The best thing is that one day we will all be back together again…………because WE PROMISED.
Now, who wants to see next week’s photo?
Isn’t this a GREAT photo? It looks like this man actually has a smile on his face too. Interesting choice of SNOW CLOTHES! Well have some fun with this one – I think you will – I know I sure will!
So we’ll meet again next Thursday and do this again OK? It’s a date! Please give writing poetry a try. There are all kinds of poetry forms – you know poetry doesn’t even have to rhyme – it just is a way to express yourself however you want to and photos give us GREAT inspiration. We see all kinds of things and feel all kinds of things when we look at a photo! I bet this guys is feeling COLD!!! HAHA
See you next Thursday! Until then – hug someone – just wait until you see them smile when you do………………………it’s magic.
Hugs from the Bridge, Angel Sammy

Mom here…I loved the poem Angel Sammy sent and the feeling that shines from it makes me feel happy and makes me smile. You, Sammy, and the poem inspire me to too many words for here in comments. It would be a blog. 😊 But I will say, Katie and I both feel like kittens but we aren’t any more…except in our hearts.

I totally believe that we ARE the age we feel in our hearts – – that’s what matters. Sure makes me feel wonderful that you get inspired from the poems and that you “get” what Angel Sammy has to say. Funny how the things he says in his poem reflect MY personal feelings too isn’t it??” 😉 😉 Big Hugs to you and your beautiful Katie………

I really hope that guy has some…. er, other clothing on as well, or he may end up with a bad case of blue balls.

Teddy, we’re so glad you’ve had some autumn to enjoy! We had at least a couple of beautiful fall days, but now we’re covered in white stuff like that poor fella shoveling snow in his bath robe. Angel Sammy, your poem is so sweet and beautiful! We always look forward to Thoroughly Poetic Thursday!
