Hello and Happy Monday! Time to start off the week with a SPARK. What exactly IS this Monday SPARK thing we do? Well, most of you know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on. Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind. Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you? It might just start a spark in us too.
I suppose my SPARK for today is different in that it came about because of my cat Teddy. I have had cats in my life for a long time and each one has been so very different in so many ways but it occurs to me that many people – mostly those who don’t have pets – think that all cats (or all dogs) are alike. If you have a pet you expect certain behaviors and you know you’ll be providing certain care, blahblahblah. But it’s just not true is it. Those of you who have a pet and have truly “gotten to know” your pet know how unique they all are. Teddy is so tuned into me and I love that about him. I wish all the PEOPLE I know could be that tuned into each other because if humans were really tuned in I think there would be a lot more HAPPY people in this world.
Sometimes when I just look at Teddy – especially when he’s asleep – I can get pretty emotional. Honestly I suspect that even though I never had children, I think the feeling of appreciating this little being’s value and worth and ability to bring happiness is the SAME FEELING you get when you look at your kids…..
Teddy, this SPARK is for you and everyone else who “gets” it !
Winnie the Pooh was EVER so wise!

I love Pooh-isms. The Pooh-ism today is right on. It is the little things for me, the little unexpected joys that come out of nowhere. Good Morning. I understand how you feel about Teddy.

Pooh – VERY wise guy……and when I saw this graphic it made me teary! It’s ever so true too isn’t it. GOOD MORNING….Teddy Bear says good morning too (or he would if he was awake – he’s asleep on the big bed – on his back of course). We had a “Florida day” yesterday when the rain moved out – it was almost 80, sunny, breezy, just beautiful but we had a “side order” of gorgeous leaves which I would NOT have seen in Floridaaadooodeee! HAPPY MONDAY!

Oh for sure I GET it and AGREE 100% with the Sparks. Teddy is an inspiration in so many ways
such unconditional love. I have a trust issue with anyone who claims not to like animals.
I feel that children and animals gravitate to nice people….

Good Morning ☀️ We love 💕 your Spark today too. I love my pets too. Might be why in our 48 years of marriage we’ve had 34 pets, dogs and cats, puppies and kittens. Each one had their own personality. We only have five now and as empty nesters we consider them our kids. I’ve had one very special kitten and one very special dog. They both died way too young. The Goldens are out romping in the snow and very sunny but cold 🥶 day. It is 28 degrees out, but they love it.

WOW – 28 degrees is cold but I just bet the Goldens are loving every minute of it. I think our temps will not get to that level – at least consistently – for another couple of months. Yesterday we were WARM – near 70! Yes, we all love our pets as our children even if we HAVE human children or grandchildren. Everyone needs attention in different ways and that’s what we do!

Love this photo. Very true they are just like children. I get that way sometimes when I look at my cats too. Each one is special to me. And each one is unique. Have a great day. 40’s and no sun today.

What a wonderful post Pam! I so ‘get’ what you are saying about teddy as I had THAT bond with Purrince Siddhartha Henry. He was a son to me & losing him was as devastating as losing a child. AS I lost 3 babies in utero many years ago I KNOW THAT pain. On a brighter note, I am so glad you & Teddy found each other. You make a ‘purrfect’ pair!

I know you “get” this SPARK – you know it better than most with the losses you’ve had. We just move forward though and hopefully bring happiness to another pet who needs love and care from our “motherly” side!

This is one powerful SPARK! Thank you for understanding Pam. I mourn each of my 4 leggeds but losing P SH was the worst of all of them…..
And let me tell you BellaDharma does not want to leave my ‘motherly’ side! She has become a lap cat! Plus when I go out & return she ‘talks; to me thru the door & does a little ‘happy dance’ when I come into the apartment!!! She really is adorable! 😉

The love of a pet is something we should “soak up” as much as we can – it gives us energy, purpose, and above all the LOVE that all humans need. You and BellaDharma were meant to be.

I really believe BellaDharma & I were meant to be together…The fact P SH rubbed PC everytime he saw her photo led me to believe she was to be my next cat…we had some hiccups but with the Vet & so many blogging friends giving great advice we are now doing great! And BellaDharma is now bonded to me 😉

Oh, we know the feeling, miss Pam, Granny says it’s heartwarming to see me so completely in my zen. I’m her little baby too, all her kitties and doggie were, even that she has a daughter and three grandchildren, for her there is no difference, a soul is a soul, and some come with paws and fur😸Beautiful significant Spark, sweet Teddy💖Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday🐾😽💞

Because I, the mom, was in a hurry and I am again today- and for the rest of the week, to be ready for the workman on the bathroom, I did not read the blog yesterday really. I saw the last part about Teddy. But I want to say that today, I HAVE read it and every word is true to me. I have gotten to know Katie as well, and she is totally tuned to me. She loves her brothers but I am THE one she knows, and I can tell she does things on purpose because she knows it please me. Many don’t ever truly know their cat. I did and do. Those that do are the ones who grieve when their little one has to fly away. Mom also sees me much the same as her children; and she agrees with you fully about their importance in our heart and lives. They can be, if you have opened your heart and mind, the same as a baby and a toddler. It has been said their intelligence is like a toddler’s too. X
