SPARKS and Reminder

It’s Monday and time to start the week off with a SPARK!   What exactly IS this Monday SPARK thing we do?   Well, most of you know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on.   Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind.    Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you?   It might just start a spark in us too.

I’m using a SPARK quote sent to me by my friend Sherri-Ellen Theilheimer-DeJonge.   She said I could use it for my Spark since I liked it so much…….it’s very “ME” and I know it’s also very “HER” !

Great message too isn’t it.    Hope you let it inspire you this week………or maybe longer?     Happy Monday!

Love, Pam

P.S.   Before I go, I would be remiss (and Teddy would be mad at me!) if I didn’t remind everyone that tomorrow is TUESDAY TEASER and Professor Teddy and Professor Angel Sammy expect you to be there!    It will be at a surprise time of course not the usual blog time – so be purrrrpared to guess where the mystery photo was taken!!

Sunday Selfie Hopping

YAY – it’s Sunday!   Time to Hop with everyone doing a Selfie today!    Hosted by The Kitties Blue, it’s just a fun thing to do on a Sunday and if you’d like to join us, click their badge up above and link up.

My “usual” Flashback Selfie is here…………….I try to find a photo from my past since I came to live here in February 2017 that I can share from ABOUT this same day.   Mom was snapping photos of me all over the place after I came to live here.   These days I spend much of my time lying on my back or outside lying in the grass so she doesn’t snap as many.   You’ve seen one “belly up” photo of me, you’ve seen them all (although I HAVE gained some weight since I first came to live here!).

Here I am sort of inside my old red cube inherited from Angel Sammy.    It was taken by Mom September 30, 2017 and it sure didn’t take me long to tear this thing up by playing so rough with it after I moved in that February.   The “white knot” thing on the floor is what’s left of Angel Sammy’s white mouse.   Back then Mom called me “Mr. Destructo” because I really ripped things up by playing tough!

And here’s the selfie she made out of this photo – it too is an “oldie” so if you’ve seen it before – sorry about that!!

Here’s the puzzle – just click this “mini me” – this is a big puzzle (180 pieces) so feel free to edit it DOWNSIZED if you like!

Happy Sunday!!!    Hugs, Teddy

Bakin’ With Bacon and The King!

If The King Is Here – It Must Be Saturday – Right?

Right!    I’m back with another fantastic bacon-included recipe for you.   A really delicious and very simple one this time and while it’s one that uses Bisquick, which not everyone has access to, you can probably think if all kinds of substitutes for Bisquick.    We always have it on hand because THE ROYAL MOM uses it to make biscuits and pancakes.

Are you ready?   Let’s get cooking!

Bacon BBQ Chicken Pizza Pockets

3 cups Bisquick mix

2/3 cup very warm water

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 cup BBQ sauce (any kind will do)

1/2 cup shredded cooked chicken

8 slices bacon (crispy!)

1/2 cup shredded monterey jack cheese (2 oz.) – any cheese will do actually

  • Heat oven to 450°F. Line cookie sheet with foil; spray foil with cooking spray.
  • In medium bowl, stir together Bisquick mix, very warm water and olive oil until Bisquick mix is moistened. Let stand 15 minutes.
  • Knead dough slightly to form ball. Divide dough into 8 parts. Flatten and use rolling pin to roll each into circle about 1/8-inch thick. Place circles on cookie sheet.
  • In small bowl, stir together barbecue sauce and chicken. Place 1 tablespoon chicken mixture on each dough circle. Top each with 1 slice bacon, crumbled, and 1 tablespoon cheese. Fold over, and pinch edges to seal.
  • Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until golden.
  • Enjoy hot, or cool completely, wrap in plastic wrap and freeze until ready to use.

Uhhuh – see?  I told you it was an easy one – and it sounds like it’s no big deal either but trust me – it really is good.  My Mom is a big fan of anything bacon but add BBQ sauce and she’s all over it.    Oh – did I say “My Mom” ???   I meant THE ROYAL MOM.

This is such a great meal – snacks yes but also if you eat about ten of them then you’ve just had dinner (hahahaha)!

Entirely possible!    Happy Saturday from Baconia!

See you next week!   King Teddy

Friendly Fill-Ins on Friday

It’s that time again!    Fill-in the blanks with our co-hosts, 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs.    Each Friday we get TWO sentences from each of them and we take it from there – filling in the blanks however we want to.    It’s fun, and easy, and we thank them for thinking of such a fun regular feature!

This week I let my Mom fill in ALL the blanks.    I like to give her a little treat like that once in a while.   After all, she makes my life fun so I want to help make HER life fun too!    Her answers are in RED.

1. I think it would be fun to do a special European cruise for my 30th anniversary next year with my husband!.
2. I have a hankering for chocolate chip cookies AND I have the ingredients, so I’m going to fulfill my hankering.
3. Being stuck in Paris on 9/11 is a memory I will never forget.
4. If I were given the choice to be immortal, I would pass on the opportunity – I have liked my life in this time but not so sure I would like it into the future so “once is enough” for me!.

OK Mom thanks for filling in.   Maybe next week I’ll take a turn………or we’ll do them together………we’ll see what the sentences are next week and decide OK?  OK!     Thanks to our co-hosts for making Friday so much fun.

Love, Teddy

Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Greetings!    Happy Thursday – time for the Thankful Hop with Brian.    If you’d like to tell us what you’re thankful for this week, just pop in and link up – click the badge above and you’ll be there!

I’ve got some thankfuls this week like the weather – it’s been incredible – we need rain desperately (so says Mom and Dad) but haven’t had a drop – just perfect days which I’m very happy about.   I suppose I should hope for rain since Mom and Dad got the yard aerated and re-seeded but I can’t help it – I LOVE THIS EARLY FALL STUFF!!    I’m also thankful that we got a wonderful surprise package from Dr. Basil and the B Team as part of his “Paw It Forward” initiative.   We were chosen to be one of the recipients of a lovely package.    Inside were a pretty blankie and a little fuzzy pink kitty toy for ME and a coloring book for Mom!    Such a SWEET thing to do – we know there were a number of lucky kitties who got packages from TEAM BASIL – we sure appreciate being one of the LUCKIES!

Now for the second part of my blog today and that’s the poetic part.   Angel Sammy sent me an email from the Bridge with his poem for this week based on the photo of last week – shall we see what he sent?   Lets!!

It’s That Time Again Friends!  Let’s get POETIC!

Thursday means poetry right?   Well, I hope you had fun coming up with a poem to go with last week’s photo I gave you.   There’s something about just LOOKING at a photo of a flower shop that activates your nose.   Mom can see a photo of a flower and smell it.   I can see a photo of cat food and smell it but somehow even though it’s the same thing – it’s different.    Anyway, the photo I gave you was a beautiful Parisian flower shop.    Here’s my poem written while I stared at the photo and I hope you will share YOUR poem that you wrote by letting us know in comments that you DID write one!    If you haven’t tried writing a poem from a photo – give it a try – I think you’ll have fun!

“Can A Nose Smile?”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell          ©September 25, 2019

Flowers have such happy faces

Reminding us of beautiful places

I often stop to smell them in their neat little rows

They make me smile BIG with my mouth and my nose!

Flowers make things better if you’re feeling a bit down

They make us happier than a silly old clown!

Their colors are amazing, their flowers are perfection

The bees that are attracted to them offer them protection!

They delight all our senses and brighten all our days

They do things for our moods in such incredible ways……

A bouquet of flowers is a gift from the heart

Whether condolence for a loss or a new love at the start

Want to see what joy you can bring with a beautiful flower?

I promise you this – they possess a magical power!

My Mom will often bring home a bouquet of flowers when she goes grocery shopping.   The bouquet generally lasts about a week and my favorite thing used to be when she puts the flowers in a vase on the low coffee table because I could get a sniff!   If it’s up on the table or kitchen counter I couldn’t enjoy them “up close and personal”………..Teddy always takes a sniff if he can.    Outside he visits everything in bloom.    Anyway, I thought it might be a fun photo for poetry.    I have another photo for you to be inspired with for NEXT Thursday.    Take a look at it, get a FEEL for it, then craft a poem to share with us next week!

Cute?   Yes we thought so………..gotta wonder what these two are up to!    We’ll see what YOU decide when we share our poems next week based on this photo OK?    Meanwhile, enjoy these first weeks of Fall…………………my Mom loves Fall………….do you?

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

See you next Thursday!   Remember, we Angels are with you every minute of the day!

Love, Angel Sammy

Thank you Angel Sammy.   That was a nice poem – I really DO love to smell flowers.   Only once did I decide to smell a flower that was occupied by a bee and I realized DANGER DANGER before I got stung.   I bet that was YOU protecting me right?    See you next week.

Love, Teddy
