Thursday means HOPPING with Brian and everyone else who wants to share their “thankfuls” for the week. If you’d like to HOP too – just click Brian’s badge to visit his blog and link up. It’s good to voice your thankfuls so you can focus on the positive stuff!
I’m thankful this week that the dangerous storms that so many other people have had this past week – including here in Virginia and in Maryland nearby – have MISSED us. They are all around us but MISS US – and isn’t that a blessing? Lots of huge old trees down with the winds and some flooding – but NOT HERE. I am very thankful and so are my Mom and Dad.
Also thankful Angel Sammy came through with a poem for us this week – did you write one? If you didn’t you can start this week and share next week with the photo he’ll give us today for inspiration. Give it a whirl!
♥♥♥
Hello Friends and Poets!
Another Thursday is here and time for us to share poems. Every week I give you a photographic inspiration to write a poem to share – did you do one this week? I did………let’s share shall we?
After I show you my poem I’ll give you ANOTHER photo which you may use for inspiration to write a poem for NEXT Thursday’s little get-together. Remember it can be short/long and in any poetic form. Doesn’t even have to rhyme – just needs to be based on the photos. FUN??? oh yea!
Here’s the photo from last week and my poem to go with it:
The Fairy Messengers
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©August 21, 2019
The messenger fairies arrive to bring the Princess the word
Only she understands – no one else has heard
Her beloved sends his regards and invitation so sweet
For her to steal away at dusk so that they might meet
The fairies receive her response then fly back to the tower
Where the man awaits anxiously for the appointed hour
The lovers meet as planned in the garden of green
As fairies and butterflies make sure they’re not seen…………….
When I saw this painting I thought it was quite magical – and so many things came to mind as to what to write – I tucked all those thoughts away and decided to write a poem at the last minute instead of thinking about it all week. I hope you got the same sense of magic when you saw the picture and I’m anxious to see what you wrote! Please tell us in comments if you wrote a poem – give us a link to your poem OR if you prefer, just write your poem out in a comment! Either way, let’s SHARE!
Here’s your photo to use for NEXT Thursday’s poetic get-together…………………..let it inspire you – take you somewhere special in your imagination and allow you to create a poem to go with the photo.
Have fun with this one……………….I love it. I’ll look forward to seeing what you THINK of it with your words.
Until next week – be kind and caring – you will get it back! Love, Angel Sammy
♥♥♥
Thank you Angel Sammy……sending hugs……
Love, Teddy
That is a sweet and magical picture, and a lovely poem to go with it.
I am glad the bad storms missed you.

She needs to get one of those floor pianos like Schroeder had because I doubt Carnegie Hall has any booster seats. Plus, she might attract a boyfriend who will lean on the piano while she plays Beethoven…

In the photo (someone else pointed this out to me) you can see “pedal extensions” this little concert pianist may use which I think is a brilliant invention. Boyfriends? Well, I bet she has ’em – and if they’re tall enough to lean on that piano I bet they would!
Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

Very nice poem Angel Sammy! I love the messenger fairies. Fairies are very special. She certainly has four guiding her. “Be kind” is always good advice Angel Sammy. Good Morning. I am very happy the storms missed you.

They keep dangling storms or rain in front of us every day but yet nothing arrives – it goes around us – it’s nice on the one paw but frustrating on the other paw and Mom has to water all the outside stuff morning, noon, and night!!!!!! Sigh………are humans (and cats) ever really satisfied?????????

Wish I could send you some rain. We had a hellacious storm last night and all the ponds in our little community are officially over their banks. Going to get it again tonight. It’s that time of year here as you know but this is over the top… literally. “Are human’s (and cats) ever really satisfied?????????”… Humans… NO! Just speaking from personal experience 🙂

We thought that was a little bench but of course they are pedal extensions and what a totally brilliant invention that is! Glad you liked this week’s AND next week’s. Finding photos is so much fun. Thanks so VERY MUCH for pawticipating – we look forward to your poems every week…………

No matter what’s in that picture, I don’t believe in fairies. Well, maybe Tinkerbell.

Well I’d worry about you (more than I already do) if you didn’t believe in Tinkerbell for heavens’ sake!

We had some storms the other day, Teddy, but they weren’t too bad. Fortunately we didn’t lose power like some others did.

We are glad you missed all those bad storms. We have had storms at night for several nights, and one took down our pear tree. But at least there was no damage or injury.
Your poem is magical – a very unique take of that beautiful photo.

Once again, we really did have similar poems. The painting just looks magical. Wouldn’t it be fun if fairies were real. I always write my poems on Wednesday afternoon or evening. We do have one this week at: https://thecatonmyhead.com/thankful-for-2000th-post-no-seizures/
