SPARKS on Monday

What’s SPARKS???   You all know that Annie of McGuffy’s Reader – who started SPARKS – was hacked and has been on an extended break from blogging although her idea to spread some inspiration on Monday of every week goes on.   Many of us who participated in her SPARKS Blog Hop and found value in sharing a thought on Monday continue doing that to hopefully give each other a “Monday boost” – perhaps something to think about to inspire us in the week ahead OR help us deal with something that’s on our mind.    Why not join us by sharing something that SPARKS you?   It might just start a spark in us too.

My SPARK today just might be popping into my head because next month I’ll be turning 72.    That’s not a bad age – frankly because when I was very young I had this feeling that kind of stuck with me that I would float off to heaven at age 62 due to some kind of accident.   Well that didn’t happen thank heaven but 72 is sneaking up on me and I honestly – truthfully – am not freaking out about that.   I’m HAPPY to be alive.   I’ve had serious health issues which probably have led me down the “grateful to be here” road but mostly I’ve been a very positive person.    That helps a lot when facing the aging thing.

I found this simple quote……………and it totally speaks to me.    Maybe it will speak to you too.    A lot of you are a long way from even thinking about aging – I know that – but one day it will be on your mind!

Anyway, that’s what matters…..not the wrinkles or gray hair – it’s the soul!

Love and have a Sparkly week!

P.S.   Calling all Teaser Fans – Professors Angel Sam and Teddy wanted me to remind you class is tomorrow!   Be purrrpared for the Teaser post to pop into your inbox at a surprise time…….hopefully it will be an easier photo to figure out than last week.   I said HOPEFULLY – there are no guarantees on Teaser Tuesdays!

  1. I love your Spark! And I am glad you didn’t float off to Heaven at 62 or I would not have had the pleasure of knowing you and calling you friend. XO

    • I guess I will always wonder what that was all about…..what a dream to have consistently – and it disappeared when I got to 62 and survived….no more dying dreams! I’m glad I didn’t go too – I would have been VERY upset to have missed having you as a wonderful friend!

      Hugs, Pam

  2. I am not certain which I like better, the actual Spark or have a Sparkly week. Both are purrfect. Since the new construction, I think lots about aging and pray I am around long enough to really enjoy it. After my mom died when I was 16, I was convinced that I was going to die at age 18. Well, thank God, that didn’t happen. Sending you, David and Teddy oodles of hugs and love, Janet

    • LOL……glad you like the SPARK and the SPARKly week….I’m glad you did your renovation for the reason that you and Tom plan to STAY in your home as you age and it’s important that it be user friendly. It’s safer, easier to get around and everything is more accessible. Aging is tough enough without stumbling through it that’s for sure! I’m very happy that your thoughts of early death were WRONG too……let’s decide right now to be here forever – OK?

      Hugs, Pam

    • Caren I can’t begin to tell you how your note here effected me – I carried your kindness with me all day – you know you are in my heart and your “kids” as well and I do hope Dakota surprises you and rallies quickly…’s ever so hard when our babies age – they are such a huge part of our lives……I will be sending POTP and hugs forever…….

      Love, Pam

    • It was truly weird how much I dreamed about that end to my life all those years ago – after I got past 62 I never had that dream again. I think someone else was supposed to get that message and I must have accidentally intercepted it! LOL

  3. Love this one. You do not look like you are in your 70’s. We’re all young at heart. Have a great day. Storms coming tonight. Otherwise been a nice day.
