Sunday Selfie Hop

Standard

Happy Sunday everyone.   Time for selfies in this fun hop hosted by Kitties Blue!    Today is a SPECIAL SUNDAY HOP because it’s Kitties Blue’s SEVENTH  BLOGAVERSARY!    Make sure and stop by to wish them a happy celebration…….AND they’re having a commentathon so make sure and check it out.     If you’d like to join in and show yourself off with us, just click the badge above, fill out the linky form and you’ll be strutting your stuff like the rest of us are!

My selfie today shows me inspecting a project my Mom is doing which is taking longer than it should…….she’s hemming a beautiful quilt my Auntie Carol made for her – but because she’s doing about 15 other things around here at the same time AND her arthritis in her right hand hurts when she does some things more than others, she’s taking a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to finish.   I just thought I’d take a peek and see how she’s doing………at this rate, she won’t have this project done for another week or so!

Hmm…..this is the back of the quilt – too bad you didn’t have it folded the other way round so everyone could see the front!    Well, when you’ve finished I’ll pose on it for you Mom!

Because this was a rather boring selfie, Mom decided to Lunapic it up a bit……………….here it is:

Then she of course made a puzzle for all of you who enjoy doing puzzles to go crazy on a Sunday!!

CLICK the MINI-ME for the puzzle – good luck!

Everybody stay cool……………………….it was 100 here yesterday and should be just about that again today.    Needless to say I have NOT asked to go outside for a walk – I’m not nuts!!   I’m a COOL cat!

Cool Man……..

    • I will make sure and show the quilt to everyone when it’s finished. My Mom has been gifted with a lot of her sister’s quilts – they’re all over the house and we love each of them. This one is a beauty too!

  1. That’s a nice selfie, Teddy, and thanks for the puzzle. I hope it cools down for you soon. It has here the last few days, but it is forecast to go right up again later in the week.

It’s much better to stay indoors in the cool unless it cools down a lot, Teddy. It only got up to 70 today with a nice breeze. That is normal for here. We don’t often get much higher, so high 80s is very uncomfortable, especially as we get very high humidity too, regularly 95% and more. Even today with the breeze it is 88%.

        • High humidity is as miserable as high heat isn’t it Miss Jackie! We got up to 99 degrees yesterday with 79% humidity. We’re supposed to be slightly cooler today – we hope it does cool off a little. Endless heat is keeping me inside!!!!! That’s a GREAT puzzle time – you are a puzzlemaster…….definitely.

  2. I didn’t think it was a boring Selfie at all… Teddy is all into inspecting the quilt. He’s pretty dang cute walking on it and inspecting the border. He’s busy!
100 degrees! I hope I never see 100 degrees in little old Venice! Crank that AC down.

    • OhMyGosh that is an awesome SEARCH feature you have there on your sidebar! You wouldn’t believe the things I found this morning. I found your Dad helping with sausage for the sausage gravy for Christmas 2015. Your brother Angel Sammy was busy checking out the wrapped presents and enjoying the tree and all the paper wrapping. It was fun to see this morning. Okay, I am done I have been obnoxious enough this morning!!! Enjoy your Sunday, Teddy!

      • Glad you enjoyed searching with our new search button. Mom says she just figured nobody would use it (haha) so never put it on our sidebar. As long as one person likes it – then we are HAPPY CAMPERS! Hope you had a happy Sunday – we had a boiling one. Today maybe a TEENSY bit cooler!

    • We hope you had a bazillion visitors yesterday because it will benefit a shelter somewhere……it was quite the milestone too!! 5. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Teddy I’m waiting with baited fishy breath to see your Aunty Carol’s latest quilt art. I hear your Mom on the hemming thing. I recently finished 2 ‘memory’ quilts for my neighbor and her sister. All made from 5″ sqs. from ~25 of their mom’s tee shirts and blouses.
Hemming them and putting 30+ buttons on each made my hands achy too

    • That sounds like an amazing project! We would like to have seen photos of those….they sound adorable though with the old shirts/blouses and buttons. We will show the quilt soon – Mom just has one side left to hem.

  6. You’re looking good Teddy! The project looks interesting, I’m sure it will get finished when it’s needed, after all cold weather is a ways away yet.

  7. How fun! Our human enjoys quilting, too, but she hasn’t done it for years. That’s a shame because we’d be a great help, too! Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang.

    • Oh wow – we admire anyone who quilts – it’s so creative and beautiful. Maybe your human should try it – make something small first to get the hang of it again! I’m sure you all could help a LOT!

  8. Teddy, that’s neat that your momma is crafty. Mine is, too, though I haven’t yet seen her sew a “quilt” yet. After your momma’s done with that project maybe she’ll make one just for you and personalize it with your name on it. That would be SWEET! Hugs.

    • Hi Valentine. I have a couple of “baby quilts” that my Auntie (who is the quilter) made and I love them. I have one in the basement on a potting bench which is one of my “beds” and another upstairs on a chair where I snooze sometimes. Anything that’s “homemade” is amazing I think……quilts are “paintings with material” !

    • My Auntie Carol is the author of 11 mystery novels that feature quilting. We have a house full of her beautiful work and this is the latest one – Mom is hemming it to finish it off and when it’s done we will show and tell it! Quilting is creating real art with material I think….my Mom could never do it but she’s grateful her sister can!!!
