Friendly Fill-Ins

Standard

Happy Friday!   Time to complete some sentences that have holes left in them on purpose by our co-hosts with an eye towards divulging a little bit of ourselves so you know us better!   Sneaky huh?!   Well, mostly it’s just fun to do and if you’d like to join in, click the badge above which links to 15AndMeowing and link up!!!

We get two sentences from each of our co-hosts and each week my Mom and I kind of trade off who gets to fill-in……………………Mom’s in charge this week and her words are in RED.

1. Summer is a good time to stay inside (it’s so hot and humid and buggy outside!).

2. The most recent person  that I talked on the phone with was my sister – we talked about what a nice visit we had for her 81st birthday on Wednesday!.
3. I thought I would grow out of wanting to live happily ever after, but I haven’t.
4. I feel annoyed when people ask me why I don’t color my hair (it’s a mousy brown with the occasional gray hair – big deal – I’m sorry if it’s boring!!).
Thanks Mom…………..Did you say MOUSIE brown hair?    I think MOUSIE brown is a GREAT color!!!!!!!

No I’m not a throw rug Mom…………….step OVER the kitty and not on him please!

Love, Teddy

    • It sure is! I’d say maybe you guys need a pool but it seems to me you tried that once and it only lasted about five minutes before it had a hole in it. Oh well…………

  1. My biped laughed about the hair colouring! People never seem satisfied with other people’s hair. My biped has had long hair and short hair. When she has long hair, people say short hair is better. When she has short hair, long hair is better. When it’s long and worn up, down and loose is better. When it’s worn down, up is better. Often it’s complete strangers that feel the need to comment – their lives must be dull!

She says she doesn’t care and finds it funny most of the time. 😀

Do what you please with your own hair is my doggy advice.

    • Clowie I totally agree with you! Whatever is RIGHT for each person is RIGHT PERIOD! I find it funny that complete strangers feel OK advising your biped about her hair….funny how humans insert themselves into the lives of others whenever they feel like it and about anything they want to. At least we can just HISS or BARK to indicate – “back away buddy, I’m OK like I am” !!!!!!

  2. P.S. She did ask one bald man if he had any idea what hair feels like clinging to your neck, when on a particularly hot day he stopped her and told her she should be wearing her hair down. I think that was a little bit naughty, don’t you? 😀

  3. I love those happily-ever-after lives. I’m enjoying one myself. What’s this, the throw rug moves? Just before I break my neck to miss it. lol That’s why we don’t have animals in the house. Well, not really we’re allergic to them but I’ve heard stories how they can get underfoot causing some serious injuries to their humans. My bestie girlfriend’s mother tripped over a kitty going downstairs and broke her hip. That was horrible and it gave me the goosies all the way up my spine. I’d hate for something like that to happen. I’m klutz as it is, so no additional help is needed to seal my fate. Have a good weekend and keep cool!

    • I’ve actually known more people who have tripped on a simple throw rug than an animal but we do tend to “shuffle along” more as we age. Interesting! I tend to look down as much as I look ahead when I walk anyway – my Mom broke her hip from tripping on a rug – and it was kind of the “beginning of the end” for her mentally so I’m EXTRA careful!! Hope you have a super duper weekend too – and be careful! 🙂

  4. Man alive, I have seen Mom do some serious moves to avoid hurting me as I become a speed bump here and there in the house. No charge…it’s family after all. My pleasure to stop the speeding around here!

    • You’re a very pretty speed bump Katie…..I think that’s just one of MANY services can can perform to aid the helpless and awkward human (I’ve got TWO of those here!).

  5. Raz likes to sleep right across the middle of the hallway. Mom always has to be careful not to step on him. Great Fill-ins!! Mom tried letting her hair grow out once but it was AWFUL so she went back to coloring it.

    • Your Mom is a beautiful blonde so why mess with PERFECT? My Mom’s hair is sort of salt and pepper-ish. She has a hard time describing the color but mousie brown with gray bits here and there comes as close as possible! HAHAHA

  6. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. We had the same for #1 🙂 I like your hair just as it is. I am glad you were able to help your sister celebrate her 81st birthday. Happily ever after is a good thing 🙂 Have a wonderful weekend. XO

  7. Teddy, you may not be a rug, but you are definitely an obstacle. Cooper Murphy does the same thing…on the stairs! Mom totally agrees with #1. We all want to live happily every after. That’s a desire never to give up on. Sending lots of love to all. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

  8. Pam and Teddy, don’t worry of mouse brown grey hair, it is what is your color now. I am already over that color, I am totally silver grey. Why should we dye our hair, I just ask, and I want to live happily for ever, even though last weeks have showed that I might die some day.

    • Kristiina I LOVE silver grey hair and had always hoped mine would be that color when I got older – my Aunt had gorgeous hair like that and my husband David has silver gray hair. My Mom’s hair was more of a “steel gray” and she dyed it all her life to blonde. Only in her last couple of years did she decide to let it go uncolored and that’s why I saw it gray. I think it’s more important to be HAPPY than worry about your hair PERIOD! LOL

  9. Ohhhhh I hope you and your most talented sister had a fine day and exchanged hugs from me.
    Funny hair story.
When I was a teen I wanted to jump on the ‘frosted hair bandwagon’! Got a huge NO from the parents. I have never colored mine either. Fast forward to when I started to ‘frost’ naturally.
My mom had the NERVE to ask me why I didn’t color it. I was astounded. I said when I wanted to
chemically frost it I got a big fat NO. Now that it is naturally frosted you want me to put chemicals on it. Blew my mind

    • That’s so funny!!! My Mom was the one who SUGGESTED I let her put a frosted streak in my hair when I was in high school! I was astounded but kind of thrilled and I actually LIKE my graduation photo – one of the only photos of me where I liked my hair. LOL Carol and I had a blast – and I brought home a quilt to hem which when I finish is MINE ALL MINE! Will share photo when the hemming is done (five years from now….just kidding).

    • We keep hoping for an UNUSUALLY COOL Summer day to break up this heat/humid stuff…but…the one GOOD thing is that we have woods at the edge of our backyard and in the front yard so we can cool off in there – it’s always a LOT cooler there!!

  12. It is hot and humid here too. Not hot by your standards, but we are used to around 65, so 80 feels very hot! The humidity is the worst. It has been around 93% all day but dropped to 82 tonight. Another sleepless night!

  14. Hair, the bane of petcretary’s head…MOL! She used to get a perm every three months or so…cause its is so limp and straight…but now its just cut short, (after not having any hair when she was sick, its best to not bother with all those chemicals anymore…), so she keeps the mousse peeps in business…at least its still the sort of blonde its been for years…to make her sister envious, cause hers used to auburn, now its quite brindled, MOL!

It was 87F here today, but we were outside mowing the grass…it was over our ankles. sheesh, all that rain we’ve been having. Hot and humid + Inside time/hibernation for petcretary. Even the pups come in and plop on the cool kitchen floor:)

    • Your Petcretary has the same “hair philosophy” my Mom has. Mom says she keeps it short, and is grateful to have ANY hair (same reason as your Petcretary!), and don’t mess things up with perm chemicals just to curl ten strands of hair! HAHAHAHA Hot and humid here too but I enjoy the concrete floor of the basement and garage just fine.

    • It used to be (back in the old days my Mom says!) that people didn’t say stuff like “why don’t you lose some weight?” or “you should color your hair and get rid of the gray”, or “you ought to wear less makeup”………seems everyone is an expert these days. LOL

  16. Your mom did fantastically with these fill-ins, Teddy! We stay inside during the summer, too. It’s no fun to melt into a puddle, or to get eaten alive by bugs. Stay safe and cool! Purrs!
