Hello! It’s that day of the week we do TWO things – one is tell what we’re thankful for at Brian’s (see badge above and click to visit and link up to join us!) and the other is share with you the email I get every Wednesday night from the Rainbow Bridge……Angel Sammy’s weekly poem challenge!
Thankfuls? Yep – I have some and one of them is that the weather has for the past two days been PERFECT. Breezy yes…..but that keeps the mosquitos from landing on Mom so that makes me happy (and her too)…..they don’t hang around unless the air isn’t moving. I’ve had TONS of outside time – my Mom and Dad indulge me like that. I continue to find excuses to visit our old mulch piles from when we used to make our own mulch – we still have a bit left down in the front woods and I think that’s HEAVENLY to dig around in the mulch and make a little NEST to lie in. Mom thinks it’s ridiculous and isn’t too crazy about me getting dirty. Hey – what can I say? Kids like to dig in the dirt! I’m also thankful that this weekend is Father’s Day – I got my Dad a swell card and I’ll spend the day hugging his legs. That’s what I do to show my affection since I’m not a lap kitty or snuggler. I am a leg hugger though and a head bonker.
Now for Angel Sammy’s email – ready?
♥♥♥
It’s that time again gang! Let’s get poetic!
I look forward to this every week and I hope you do too. You get to show me and everyone else your poem that you wrote based on the photo I gave you last week. I’ve written mine – so it’s time for “SHOW AND TELL”. If you’d like to join us please do – all you have to do is look at the photo I give you on Thursdays and let it inspire you to write a poem – any kind of poem – short, long, any form……..just let it all hang out!
Here’s the photo from last week and my poem based on that photo:
“Hey Bro!”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell ©June 12, 2019
Hi lady with the camera in your hand
We know we’re cute and lookin’ grand
Hey Bro what do you say we freak her out?
Let’s scoot across the floor together and let out a shout!
Or we could roll over at the same time – that would be cute
Too bad Mom didn’t just let us wear our birthday suits!
I like our shirts though – we look very cool
Won’t we have fun together when we get to go to school?
I can be you and you can be me
No difference between us can I see!
Best pals for life let’s promise that NOW
If we could be cuter I sure don’t see how!!!!
I absolutely love this photo and so does Mom. The other cool thing is as I told you last week is that my Dad is a twin. He said his Mom dressed him and his brother the same for several years. I don’t think they liked that much but you know the old saying “anything Mom wants” !! These two little guys are so darn cute – sweet little faces and big blue eyes – I foresee a lot of FUN ahead for these two. It was a great photo to inspire some fun poetry and if you wrote one, let us know in COMMENTS that you did so we can visit your blog and read it!
Now, I have another photo for you – AND we will get together again next Thursday and share our poems based on this photo……….
What a view! Isn’t this a cool photo? I think we can really set our imaginations FREE with this one don’t you???!!
Happy poem writing everyone…………I’ll look forward to seeing you all next week………….until then, spread some love and peace around you – maybe it will CATCH ON!
Love Forever, Angel Sammy
♥♥♥
Thanks Angel Sammy……………..I bet some of our friends wrote some great poems this week AND I have a feeling they will be up for the challenge of that photo you gave them for this coming week……………it’s very cool!
Happy Napping! Hugs, Teddy
yes that is the best about twins… you can fool teachers and all people around ya!

The only twins I remember in school were not identical twins – but they were VERY close to one another. You boys are the BESTEST of FRIENDs TWINS!

Next week’s photo has a sensational view, but don’t have too much wine with your meal and stumble on the way out. It’s a long way down!

Bravo bravo Sammy! I love your poem about double trouble! We had identical twins on our street. When they were little they loved running up to me saying guess who I am.

Excellent poem! I bet identical twins do have a lot of fun together. Does your Dad have any photos of him and his brother dressed alike? I would love to see one. I like next week’s photo- thanks to your mom for finding such good prompts. Have a nice day! XO

I’m not sure David has any photos from the “dressed alike” days…he has very few photos of those times PERIOD. I’ll ask!!

So nice that you had lots of outside time this week, Teddy! Love the poem about the cute little twin boys. Amazing photo for next week. If I could only get Motor Mommy to sit still long enough to write a poem…purrhaps she could compose it in her head while she’s on the go???

Sundae your Motor Mom is always on the move so probably doesn’t have time to think of poetry ALTHOUGH she is very artistic and COULD write a poem no problem! Maybe one of these days.

Teddy, Sammy, I love the poem you wrote! I meant to make mom try her best on that one but she was running back and forth to the big city and forgot to try. Is that a real place there in the picture for next week? It’s like a fairy story place. XOX

Sammy, you wrote another terrific poem. We can always count on you. Next week’s photo looks as if it will be fun as well. Nice to see that both ginger boys decided to share their tum-tums today. Mom did write a poem. Here’s the link: https://www.thecatonmyhead.com/Cooper-Murphys-belly-thankfuls-a-poem

We loved your poem today – Angel Sammy did a great job finding a fun photo – same for next week’s! We had rain all morning (and through the night last night) but it’s stopped for a while now. I talked Mom and Dad into taking me outside in the rain though. That was fun. I didn’t do any mulch burrowing but I did lie down under my favorite little dwarf Japanese maple in the front garden. It makes such a nice umbrella. Mom and Dad just put up their hoods on their raincoats while I enjoyed my “brolly” !!
Have a fun day……

Hi Tabs-o-Trout! I was just at your blog. Can’t wait to hear more about the crime and hope someone does the time! You are right about me and Sammy – I’m SURE we are tied together in a bunch of ways – we have a BIG dooty to take care of these old people and while Sammy’s doing his from AFAR, I’m up close and purrsonal. I take them for walks, show them how to roll in mulch properly – lotsa stuff like that. Please tell the Food Service Gurl that my Mom was a Daddy’s Girl too…..She “gets it”……!

I think my human doesn’t give me ENOUGH outside time! She is kind of lazy about it, since she doesn’t like the sun much.

I think I’m pretty lucky that my Mom and Dad love being outside as much as I do BUT they really don’t understand the “take me out in the rain” thing. I don’t mind getting wet – probably because I was wet a lot that first year before I arrived at the shelter. I most likely was a barn cat baby or feral colony kid and was used to whatever weather there was. Anyway, I have no complaints about not enough out time. You do look like you enjoy being outside when you do get out there AND you get to travel too which is VERY COOL!

David and his brother are super good friends and that makes me happy. I often wished with Sammy that we’d adopted TWO kittens so Sam would have had company growing up. Teddy is big enough for two (hahaha) and doesn’t need any company.

Everyone needs company. It’s kitten season now. The perfect time to adopt an ignored three year old. 🙂

We did say if we changed our mind it would be an older cat – at our age we want to be as committed as we could be to taking care of a cat for their whole life (and ours).

If I got another one it may not being old cat but it would not be a kitten.

I hit send too early. I wanted to say kittens are adopted pretty easy but the adult cats sometimes never get adopted.

I know – it’s terribly sad. Some of the cats in our shelter have been there a long time or were surrendered at an advanced age. It breaks my heart.

Great poem! My husband and his brother are twins, and when they were in school, they would attend each other’s classes and no one knew!
And i wrote this:
Are you ready, my brother?
Why yes, I am,
We don’t know for what,
But together we stand.
We’ll stick close together
And life will be grand,
No matter what happens,
Together we stand.
That pretty well sums them up, it really does. Since i’m on vacation, i wasn’t able to do my poem on my blog this week, it was too much to add that to a full schedule.

Teddy, we’re so glad the weather has been nice and that you’ve been able to enjoy the great and beautiful outdoors. We hope the weather keeps cooperating for you! Angel Sammy, this image and your poem remind me so much of the childhood stories I’ve heard about my twin uncles. They’re still best friends, and partners in crime. I also adore the new photo prompt you chose! What a stunning image!

The photo for tomorrow’s Poetry Day is quite something isn’t it? It’s a Tourist House in Switzerland….WOW! Twins have a “thing” between them and while many siblings have that same “thing”, twins don’t even have to TALK about it – it’s just there!
