Friendly Fill-Ins and Fun Reading!

Standard

Happy Friday!    It’s time for the Friendly Fill-Ins Blog Hop co-hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs.    I’m also taking the opportunity to tell you about Ellen Pilch’s brand new book “I Am Not A Skunk” which is her second book and just as adorable as “Prancie’s Prayer” which was also about one of her many kitties.

First comes the filling in fun!    Each of our co-hosts gives us TWO sentences with blanks to fill in……..and when we fill the blanks in and share through the Hop we find out fun stuff about our friends who are also in the Hop.    If you’d like to join us – just click on the badge above – it will take you to 15andMeowing and you can link up.    I let my Mom do the filling in this week – my little Easter gift to her (hahaha).    Mom’s words are in EASTERY PINK!

1. An Easter ( or Passover) memory that  I have is getting excited about wearing my Easter dress, hat and gloves to Sunday School on Easter Sunday when I was a little girl.

2. I hope to purchase smaller sized clothes (yes that means I want to lose weight!) this year.

3. When the days are warm, I love taking Teddy outside for a walk.

4. If the Easter Bunny visited my house, he would be confused since I hide Easter eggs for my husband myself!!
Now we want to tell you about Miss Ellen’s adorable new book.    It’s a charming story about another of her many kitties and how she came to find her forever home with Ellen and her husband.   Ellen’s first book was about her kitty Prancie and this one is about sweet Emmy.    Because Emmy is a black and white kitty she was mistaken for a skunk when first seen in the yard!    After a clever way of proving she was indeed a kitty looking for a meal and possible home, Emmy gets her wish and joins the Pilch tribe of kitties to live happily ever after.
The book is available on Amazon – you may click the cover and it will take you right to the page on Amazon where you can purchase the book.    Don’t miss out – add this one to your own collection or get it now for a special “little one” in your life.   It’s beautifully written AND illustrated.    We can’t wait for Ellen to write another book about one of her other rescue kitties!

Dear Emmy – we know you’re not a skunk!!!!

Hugs, Teddy and Mom Pam

  2. Haha to #4 of your Fill-ins! I am planning on ordering Ellen’s book about Emmy today. I can hardly wait now that Emmy had a clever way of letting them know she wasn’t a skunk! I want Emmy’s book to keep Prancie’s book company! Good Morning… we have some scary Good Friday storms coming our way!

  3. I remember mama cleaning my patten leather shoes with Vaseline to make them shine.

Miss Ellen is so very very talented and I am so proud for her and of her for following her dream to write.

  4. Oh I used to get so excited about my new Easter dress. I couldn’t wait to get to Sunday School and show all the others. My new dress, a new little straw hat, white gloves, new white socks with either lace or some decorations in the pattern. A new pocketbook (the only time it was used of course…and plastic too).

    • Sweet memories…….My mother HATED sewing but she made my Easter dress one year and it was so pretty. She never sewed a thing after that!! LOL That’s where I got my dislike of sewing I bet. I was trying to remember what – if anything – I’d put in my little plastic purse – maybe a Kleenex and a penny?? LOL

  5. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I bet you looked adorable in your Easter outfit. And you don’t need to lose weight. I bet the Easter Bunny would be very confused at your house 🙂 Thank you for writing about I Am Not A Skunk. I appreciate your helping to spread the word and I am glad you liked the book. Have a wonderful day. XO

    • IT’s a precious book as Prancie’s was….we can’t wait to see who you write about next! I really should lose some weight – whether that actually happens or remains a “wish” is anyone’s guess!!!!

  6. Good fill-ins, Mom Pam. Our mom always looked forward to a new dress, shoes, hat and gloves for Easter Sunday. Sometimes it would be cold or rainy, and she’d have to wear a coat, which she always hated. We are all looking forward to reading Emmy’s story. • Yes – I remember hating to have to wear a coat to cover up my pretty dresses too…….just like on Halloween when I had to wear a raincoat over my totally cool costumes!

    • Actually Mom (the Bunny) always makes a list of where she hides the eggs…..it once took all day to find one of them that she couldn’t remember where it was hidden. We figured sooner or later we’d probably find it with our noses (if you know what we mean) but we didn’t want that to happen!

  7. NTTAWW being confused for a skunk. Some of my best friends are skunks. Ody shares that coloring and can sometimes be confused for a beached orca when he’s sprawled out 20-pound-belly up on my table…

    • HAHAHA…..!! We occasionally see (or smell) a skunk in our yard but not as often as we used to. Once the community began growing we saw less of the “wildlife” – except for foxes and deer – PLENTY of those!

    • That’s a good question – I think things aren’t as “formal” as they once were – kids wear whatever they want to for the most part I think. I just remember that for church Mom always had us “dress up” – my little brother in his Sunday suit and me in dresses and Easter was “bumped up a notch” with the fancy stuff!!

    • Cupcake my Mom is not looking forward to “cutting back” because eating is one of her favorite hobbies (hahahaha). I will help her though……of course at 23 lbs. I’m hardly a sterling example of SVELT !!

  8. Your Mom’s Eastery answers are so purrfect, Teddy! I won’t lie, I never enjoyed wearing my Easter dresses as a kid. I’ve never been a dress person, or one to enjoy any fancy clothes. If it’s not sweatpants, I’m not a huge fan. I still wore those Easter dresses, though, and only ever tore one of them. And I think it is so fun that you hide Easter eggs for your husband. How fun! Teddy, do you help your dad find them?

    • HAHAHA…..I don’t help Dad but Angel Sammy did. He followed Mom around the basement when she hid them and when Dad came down to look Sammy took him to the spot! So funny!
