Thankful and Poetic Thursday

Standard

AHHHHH yes!   Time for Thankful Thursday Blog Hopping with our buddy Brian.    Celebrate the things you’re thankful for on the Hop – wanna join us?   Click his badge above and do it!

I’m thankful that our snow is melting.   I am NOT a happy boy about the snow – I really do NOT like to walk in it no matter if it’s a half inch or even a “dusting”.    Cold feet?  No thanks!    So I’m glad it’s not FEET of snow and that these INCHES of show we did get are slowly melting.    We thought we’d have more snow starting tomorrow but now it looks like mostly some rain so that might just melt more of this snow.   Here are some pix Mom took before we had a full 9-10 inches!

She snapped them before it got very light out the morning of our snow.    It continued snowing all that day and into the evening………….

Anyway, I’m thankful we didn’t get more of that white stuff…………I’m also THANKFUL that because the weather at the Rainbow Bridge is perfect EVERY DAY, Angel Sammy’s email got to me so I have his poem for today I can share with all of you!

♥♥♥

Hi Poetry Peeps!

Here I am to share the poem I wrote for this week’s photo challenge poem.    The poem I had in my head all week kind of changed as I was putting pen to paper but basically the idea is the same.    I thought it was a fun photo to write a poem for – did you?    I hope you wrote one!     If you haven’t been doing that every week with us – I hope you change your mind and join in the fun.

I will give you a photo every Thursday and you have a whole week to think about the picture and see what it “says” to you – what feeling does it give you or what do you think of when you look at it?!    Below is my poem for this week AND a new photo for NEXT Thursday.    If you did write a poem, let us know you did in your comments and give us your link so we can read it.    YAY!

“Beauty”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell     January 16, 2019

Bottles, potions, dyes,

Curlers, scissors, razors

Dryers, foil, perms,

Bobby pins and lasers

All to be beautiful….but in case you are a doubter

Real beauty is INNER and certainly not OUTER……

Maybe my shortest poem ever?    Well, could be, but funny how it came to me almost the instant I found the photo.   All the trouble people go to getting to the point they feel “put together” and beautiful……….and the most important beauty of all is what you carry in your heart and soul.   Not found in any beauty parlor.

Now, would you like to see what I found for all of us to work with this coming week?

Cute?   Well I think so……………….but there’s a lot to see in this photo so have some fun “SEEING” whatever you can and writing about it and we’ll share next week OK???   My Mom wants to give this little critter a hug.

Have a super week everyone – I hope to see you back here next Thursday WITH a poem……………………….

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love always, Angel Sammy

Oh that was a goodie Angel Sammy and I just love that little imaginary creature you found for us to think about this week.    I love his little stuffed wabbit……..he’s just a baby “something” but what?   Part this and that………well, I’m sure your poem will explain!!

Everybody have a great Thursday………………………………

Hugs, Teddy

    • Oh I’m SURE that’s not a “real” bunny – I think this is some little baby creature and that’s its’ little stuffie it takes to bed at night. Yes I live in a cocoon and yes I have moments of delusional thinking (to answer your next question before you ask!).

  1. That is a short and sweet poem, but very true.
I am glad your snow is going. We have some forecast for the weekend, but that will probably only be on the moors and hills. We don’t often get it at lower levels here near the sea. Last year was an exception!
The little animal looks sad to have broken his tooth, but I am like Evil Squirrel and think he might have done it trying to eat that poor little bunny.

    • I prefurrrr to think that little bunny is his favorite “night time stuffie” to hug and take to bed with him and NOT a real bun! We will have more snow starting tonight – maybe just an inch or so through the weekend so not even worth worrying about!

  2. Love the poem, Angel Sammy! Yes, we don’t always realize what real beauty is.
Quite an interesting photo for next week; can’t wait to see your poem.
Hope you get just rain and no more snow, Teddy!

    • It’s a cute little critter and I’m sure Angel Sammy has something in mind about it – all I know is it’s a sad little guy for some reason – maybe cuz he broke his tooth????? We’re hoping for rain but I’m afraid we will have some snow or sleet – it’s just so COLD.

  3. I love the poem, that it so true about inner beauty. I plan to keep coloring my hair until I die though 🙂
That is a cute little creature, poor guy lost his tooth. I am the Tooth Fairy so that should be fun to write. XO

    • We’re getting more snow tonight and Sunday…….YEEKS……also some rain coming too so hopefully it melts the existing snow and we can just deal with new stuff. Gosh – winter caught up after all!

    • Not sure what the little guy is in the photo – maybe that’s good “poem material” figuring out what he is. He’s cute and sad and broke his toofie – that’s about all I know!

  4. I want to give the little critter a hug too… my heart melted when I saw the picture. Can’t believe you got that much snow! So true about real beauty, Angel Sammy, but it still doesn’t keep me from wishing that I had inherited my Dad’s thick wavy hair instead of my Mom’s thin, fine, limp hair.. Ha!

    • Ditto here on the hair for my Mom. She actually wishes she had her Mom’s hair – her Mom had fine hair but LOTS of it. Her Dad had fine hair too so I guess she didn’t have any choice in the matter with the FINE stuff!! I’m glad you like the little creature in the photo for next week – a few peeps think he broke his tooth while trying to eat the bunny. I think the bunny is his “nighttime stuffie” he takes to bed and he accidentally broke his tooth somehow. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it (!!!!!).

        • Love the illustration and I kind of felt she hadn’t intended for us to think the little critter was a murderer…..I felt sure the bunny was it’s “stuffie baby”. Yeah – I like that story bestest!

  5. Teddy, we are so glad your snow is melting. Ours is melting today, too, but we’re supposed to get another 6-12″ this weekend, and we don’t know how to feel about that. Angel Sammy, your poem may be short, but its message is perfect! True beauty is on the inside, and we wish more people realized that. Now, this fantasy and fuzzy critter loving human is absolutely in love with the image you picked for next week, and can’t wait to write a poem for it!

    • Isn’t the little critter for next week adorables??!!! Someone has already said they think he broke his little tooth when crunching down on that bunny. I say NO – I think that’s his favorite stuffie and he’s got him with him because he’s upset about his broken tooth! What do you think?

      Hugs, Teddy
p.s. That’s a LOT of snow! We might get another inch at most!

    • Good question – we prolly don’t want to know the answer either! Wonder if maybe they were being “programmed” by the aliens through those things!!!! It’s just a little UNNERVING isn’t it!

Happy week oh end to you too!

Next week’s photo is certainly quite interesting:)

    • Yes indeed……Obviously having the latest hairdo was WAY more important than playing with your pup or cat!!!! We thought the photo of the little “creature” was pretty cute too!

  7. Whew! That poem makes me happy, Angel S! Mom saw my inner beauty right away when she met me. She hardly noticed my long curly nails, bad smell, and scabs on my head. Thank goodness beauty is inner.
