Thankful Thursday AND Poetic Thursday – all rolled into one fun day. First up is always being THANKFUL and for that Blog Hop we are THANKFUL to Brian! Want to join us? Click on his badge and hook up. We’ll be happy to read your thankfuls! After Santa Paws came to visit I certainly have some thankfuls – I’m not a big toy guy but I did get three things that I LOVE…..a black snake from my friends at Kitties Blue, a bird with feathers that hangs from our doorway and I can smack, bat, push, shove, and jump on (very cool), and a YEEEEOW Lemon which drives me nutso! I love my other little things too like a tiny mousie and my snazzy new harness (purple!). In fact I’m just plain THANKFUL for everything I got from everyone including Santa. Also thankful that we’ve had some sunshine…….we’ve ALL missed it. It will disappear again tomorrow for a few days but the sun has been GREAT!
Angel Sammy sent us his usual poem last night – His poetic challenges on Thursdays are something a few of you look forward to like I do – and you participate by writing some poems of your own which HE and US love! Here’s the email I got from the Bridge from him last night:
♥♥♥
Happy Post-Christmas Friends!
I hope you got everything you wanted in the way of holiday cheer, treats, toys, naps and love. I enjoyed watching all of my old friends and new friends (and my own family) from my “Christmas Cloud” at the Bridge. It made me smile to see everyone having a good time – I just wish I could have been there in purrrson.
Have you written a poem for the photo I gave you last week? I hope so. Remember to share it – by link to your blog or by posting the poem in comments here. Here’s the photo I gave you last week followed by my poem.
“Cozy Cottage”
Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell Dec. 26, 2018
Listen to the water trickling into the stream
Isn’t this the coziest place you’ve ever seen?
Flowers cascading down the stair
Oh to sit in the middle of them without a care
My Mom says we all have a spot like this in our mind
Maybe we “go there” when PEACE we must find
When problems are big and solutions are few
Perhaps peace could be found in a cottage’s view
Quiet countryside is calming and chaos is at rest
Soft breezes blowing and birds in their nest
But there’s no need to leave home to find such a place!
Just slow down your life, find a much calmer pace
That place is inside you – right there in your heart
Close your eyes, take a breath, give your attitude a new start.
In the quiet of that moment as your soul begins to renew
Your own cozy cottage of PEACE will come into view.
As usual when I write a poem it just “happens”………..but this one also reflects what I do when I need a minute – life at the Bridge is busy and we all need to PACE ourselves. I pop into my Mom’s mind when she needs to slow down. Thinking of me makes her calm and happy!! That’s one of our BIGGEST JOBS as Angels…..did you know that??
Now here’s your photo for next week – study it – think about it – and when write a poem to share with us next Thursday – I’ll share mine too! OK?
This should be a fun one! Give it some thought then come up with a poem to match the photo and we’ll SHARE next Thursday!!!

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!
I’ll look forward to seeing you next week…………have a great NEW YEAR’S EVE and new year everyone!
Love, Angel Sammy
♥♥♥
Thanks for visiting us Angel Sammy. Wish I could start the new year with you……..right here……….in my “cozy cottage” !

Two MOST WONDERFUL poems by you ladies this morning! You both TOTALLY GOT the spirit/feeling of this little mill house for your own reasons! I will be using this image when my brain is on overload – I’ll “go” to this place and think quiet thoughts while Teddy flies up and down the stairs chasing mice and bugs….LOL Next week’s photo will be fun too! Thanks for always playing along with Angel Sammy on poetry day.

We love that little cottage too…..Mom and I say that when we feel ready to “pop” from a heavy duty day, we will THINK we’re at that cottage and just BREATHE in the flowers and fresh air. Maybe that’s the best thing – let your mind be there while your ears are hearing Iris (tee hee).
Love and Hugs, Teddy
p.s. Mom made potato pancakes from left over mashed potatoes this morning for breakfast. YUMMMMMBO!

Potato pancakes sound so good right now! I just finished a Christmas cookie. Haven’t heard Iris for days and we haven’t seen any Ibis at the glorified pond. We did see a Roseate Spoonbill on Christmas Eve which was a big delight for us… 🙂

It’s fun to see “different” wildlife there from what you were used to seeing at the Tiny Ten isn’t it. I saw THREE piliated woodpeckers this morning in the woods – I see one often but three?! Also a gray hawk………I can see why “birders” become birders. LOL Hugs, Pam

The little mill house is very cool but we suspect the OUTSIDE is better than the INSIDE….It looks like it was someone’s “project” to fix up as a garden feature rather than a home. BUT – even with that being said – Mom and I would love to live there!!!!!

Your mom is lucky to have you looking out for her so well, Angel S. That cottage is a peaceful, happy place. Even though our house doesn’t look like that – it feels like that. Your poem said it so well.

Sammy, your poems are always inspirational, especially this one reminding us to slow down and go to a quiet place when things get too hectic. And the new photo really made Mom giggle and she cannot wait to write about it. She did write a poem this week. Here’s the link: https://thecatonmyhead.com/cats-fairies/

Angel Sammy, you paw pen such fine, thoughtful poems! Mom would love to have a little cottage in the woods to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. Of course, I would go with her. We kitties do bring a sense of calm to our humans. It is our special gift.

You are SO right Valentine – my Mom AND my Dad both have said their hearts are the most happy and calm when I’m sitting by them or they’re petting me. We bring calm and love to our humans – that means we are medical professionals in addition to all our other talents! Calm hearts are happy and healthy hearts right????!!!!

BellaDharma this Christmas was very exhausting indeed. I had to keep watch over that train Dad had set up under the tree, guard all the presents, entertain company – I’m playing catch-up now with my missed naps! I’ll be happy when NYEve is over with so we can all RELAX!

It doesn’t surprise us one bit that Santa Paws was good to you, Teddy. After all, you’ve been a very good boy, without a doubt! We’re so happy you’re enjoying your new toys. And thank you for always hosting the poetic challenge, Angel Sammy! We always look forward to it. This cozy cottage image is so quaint and sweet, and though I wrote a Christmas-inspired poem for it this time around, I think I’d like to revisit it in the spring to create another poem for it. Your poem for it is beautiful, Angel Sammy! Purrs!

Thank you for the compliment! You know how we feel about your poem-stories…..and just FYI, almost the minute we finish our poem, Mom thinks of two or three other ideas she likes better. Writers write on paper but are constantly writing “in their head”…….revisiting a photo and doing a differently slanted poem is allowed around here by the way!!!!!!
