Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Standard

Happy Thankful Thursday – actually this whole month is a THANKFUL month since we celebrate Thanksgiving – and that means TURKEY!    If you’d like to join Brian’s Hop, click the badge above and DO IT!   Just tell everyone what you are thankful for.    I’m thankful that Fall is falling – and it looks amazing outside finally with beautiful leaves and cool temps and Mom and Dad don’t mind being outside with me since it’s COMFY out there.    In summer they really aren’t too crazy about being in the HOTS while I lie under a shrub in the shade – there’s no room for them under there!   HAHAHA    Seriously though, we’re having fires in the fireplace now and that’s just super cozy and sort of a “cat magnet”.   I like it!

I’m also thankful that Angel Sammy sent me his Poetic Thursday poem and message so that I can share it with all of you!   Are you ready?  I am!

♥♥♥

Hello my friends!    It’s that time again!    Fortunately the reception has been exceptional for wi-fi up here at the Bridge now that the air is cooling down on Earth and there’s not much disturbance in the atmosphere.  Makes it easier for we Angels to visit you there – did you know that?   Well it does.

Today is the day we get together to talk poetry.   Hopefully SHARE some poetry too – that is if you have written a poem for the photo I gave you last week.    I’ve written mine – and if you didn’t get around to doing that this week, I hope maybe you’ll join in with us NEXT week.   I’ll be giving you another chance to do that with another photograph to inspire you to write a poem in a little bit.   If you did write a poem – tell us you did in the blog comments and give us your link so we can read it………………OK?

Here’s the photo I gave you LAST week to write a poem about…………how did you feel, what did you think, what are your impressions after viewing this photo??

“Imagine”

Poem by Angel Sammy Kimmell    October 31, 2018

The breeze blows gently on the snow covered hill

Or is the sand shifting lightly as down the hill it does spill?

The wispy clouds seem to signal a wind up aloft

Ripples on the white ground make it look very soft

In the distance is a town?   Or cliffs?  Or a beach with more sand?

From this vantage point it feels like the lone person has command…..

Are they watching a ship arriving on the sea?

Or imagining the landscape if it just had ONE tree?

Is this a scene from the future when there’s just one person left?

When the land lies scorched and broken and humanity bereft?

OK – I can almost hear you all saying – “this one is so very serious Sammy, why??”………………….well, those of you who write poetry know that you write from feelings and thoughts and in this case with a photograph those feelings and thoughts could be just about ANYTHING – that’s why I give you a photo every week – it stirs something different in each of us!    This poem reflects how the photo made ME feel.   I hope you liked it !!

Now what’s up for next week?    How this this one?!?!?!

Interesting?  I thought so…………………conjures up some interesting thoughts – and that can lead to an interesting poem!!!    So can I count on you to play along with me next week?   Good!

I guess I’ll be signing off for now then.   I’m meeting up with the “Bacon Lovers Club” for breakfast this morning.   I absolutely am not the ONLY cat here who was and still is a BIG FAN of bacon.

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love Forever And A Day…………….Angel Sammy

♥♥♥

Oh Angel Sammy how I miss you…………we would have had so much fun together…………now we can just DREAM together.

Love, Teddy

    • I think that’s why my Mom thought this was a pretty cool photo and Sammy agreed – you can’t tell FOR SURE if it’s sand or snow – the person looks like they’re in WARM CLOTHES and boots but then who knows?!?!?! Interesting photo makes for interesting poems doesn’t it!!

  2. You need a James bond style car that converts into a boat to drive past that stop sign!

I liked your poem this week. I couldn’t make up my mind whether it was snow or sand, so I chose to think it’s snow even though the patterns look more like sand!

  7. I hope I get turkey this year… my human has no idea what she is doing for Thanksgiving yet. She doesn’t have family and her boyfriend will be out of town doing shows, so she needs to find some friends to adopt her for the day!

    • Oh Summer I hope your human can find someone to feed her some turkey and trimmings (and bring you some back from turkey dinner!). I’m hoping my Mom brings me some – she and Dad are going to his brother’s cottage/cabin in the mountains for Thanksgiving.

        • IT’s always sad to lose a friend – whether we’ve known them a long time or short time – it’s still a loss. As we get older we find MORE of our friends go to Pureland…..but we must remember one day we will ALL be together again…..and in the meantime we can know our Angel friends are in a beautiful place!

  9. Another fab poem from Angel Sammy. All the trees around here are dropping their leaves and the ground is covered. The dad sure has his work cut out for him.

    • This will be the first year when Mom and Dad won’t be sucking up our leaves with the leaf machine behind the tractor – they finally decided to let someone ELSE do the heavy lifting around here in the Fall!

  10. It was indeed a serious poem and you’re right we write how we feel in poems and this is a serious subject to you. It is different because she could be stepping in sand or snow. They do look similiar unless you’re actually stepping in them.

    • True….you either burn your feet or freeze them off! HAHAHA It was interesting because of that and other things like that feeling of solitude (or loneliness however you look at it!). A fun photo for sure. Next week’s is a “pip” too!

  11. Sammy, though our poems are totally different, they are uncannily similar with our theme of imagination. I am really interested to see some of the other poetry this week. We are all super thankful for some cooler weather as well. Thanks for having poetry every week. • We really got some GREAT poetry this week didn’t we? Angel Sammy knows how to find some super photos to fire up our imagination – yours is definitely fabulous. Thanks so much for being part of our fun on Thursdays and YES – cooler weather starts this weekend here – back to rain and 60s!

  12. Teddy, we are also so thankful for turkey and the finally changing leaves. There is nothing more beautiful than standing outside on a cozy day, surrounded by the colors of autumn. Angel Teddy, your poem is so profound. I saw snow when I first saw that picture, and that’s what I went with. But now I’ve come to realize that I’m pretty sure it’s sand. It’s amazing how two things so different can look so similar. Well, either way, I thoroughly enjoyed writing my falsely assumed snow-inspired poem, and I know I’ll enjoy writing one for next week’s chilling yet incredibly intriguing image. Purrs!

    • Angel Sammy said that when he found that photo he knew it would be interesting because it was just difficult to tell so much about what we were seeing! Snow or sand? Man or woman? Summer or winter? Earth or some other planet? LOL Anyway, we truly loved your poem and more people thought it WAS snow. Next week’s photo is a real gem too!!
