It’s that time again! Time to play around with sentences that have blanks in them and fill in the “holes” with something about ME ME ME (or Mom of course). This fun Hop is co-hosted by 15andmeowing and Four-Legged Furballs and we look forward to it every single week! If you click the badge above you can fill in the linky form and join us.
I am sharing fill-ins with my Mom today. I’m doing the FIRST TWO and she’s doing the LAST TWO sentences. I believe in sharing………………well…………..sometimes!
1. I have high hopes for getting some of the canned salmon Mom is using for dinner tonight – she’s making salmon croquettes!.
2. Hearing hawks make me nervous – if I’m outside, I run to my Mom OR just give her the “look” and we go inside.
3. I’m surprised that Fall is so late this year and it’s been so warm – I am READY for pretty leaves, fires in the fireplace and cozy sweaters!.
4. To make a long story short, don’t talk so much!!!
About #4, Mom says she knows several people who say that about making a long story short but usually they say it after the story they are telling is already a LOT longer than it needed to be!
We want to thank our two co-hosts for the fun filling in the blanks is every week – it’s super fun seeing what everybody says. There are a lot of memes going around with “tell 12 facts about yourself”, etc. but this way of doing it is a lot easier – four at a time! YAY FOR OUR CO-HOSTS!!!
Hugs from me and Mom
oh we hope that salmon will swim in your tummy! … and we are with ya, we want to wear sweaters and no t-shirts… and long coats what cover da ice cream cemeteries of da summer…

Yesterday we were in the los 80s……..Hurricane Michael came through here last night with wind and rain and COOL and this morning our high will be in the 60s!! Sweaters! YAY! As for the salmon – Mom and Dad loved their dinner but even though I was offered some I didn’t really care for it. Go figure.

This is so true. Laser never liked dreamies until McLaren came along. Now she eats them happily, although she doesn’t cry for them like McLaren does.

HI Miss Pix! My Dad says he used to grill salmon all the time but he doesn’t grill much these days – Mom just gets the canned stuff and makes her croquettes – They smell delightful when they’re cooking and I always get excited but she gives me some and I won’t eat it. Crazy huh? I am very careful about those hawks……..I know Mom and Dad will protect me but they still scare me.

Teddy, we sure wouldn’t want to see you taken away by a hawk. We don’t see hawks around our yard, but we know it is forested where you are. The last time Mom and Dad rode the tandem outside, they saw a huge Cooper’s Hawk sitting on the grass next to the greenway. Mom hates herself for talking so much. Her biggest problem is repeating herself no matter who she talks with. She’s sure it started because Dad doesn’t listen to her. MOL! We too enjoy learning more about our friends each week. I think I’m in good shape with those hawk guys – – – Mom or Dad is there with me and even when they aren’t holding my leash because I’ve found a spot to lie down and look around, it’s usually UNDER something……so the hawks can screech all they want if they see me – I’m SAFE. I always ALWAYS look up when I hear them though. My Mom says to tell your Mom not to feel like she talks too much….My Mom has to repeat herself all the time with my Dad and she didn’t used to say “I’ve already told you this but…….” however she wanted him to begin realizing that he NEEDS TO LISTEN so she says it. I happen to love it when my Mom talks to me and I always listen. Guess Dad and I are different in that way! 🙂

We keep out eyes on those hawks that perch way up high on the light poles when we walk. They are HUGE when they spread their winds and fly.
BOL – yep, you are so right, making a long story short almost always ends up being a very long-winded tale:)

I hope that you enjoy the salmon. 🙂 I love salmon patties but haven’t made them in a very long time. Maybe soon.
We’ve had cooler weather here, believe it or not. Though it was 97 degrees day before yesterday, yesterday it was only in the 80s. I don’t know what it was when I was outside earlier, but it felt wonderful and I didn’t melt. Yep, a perfect day. 🙂
Have a blessed weekend!

YEP – my Mom makes the patties but gives me a little taste before she misses all the STUFF into the salmon to make the patties. I just really didn’t have any interest in it. I like bites of tuna but salmon left me cold. Mom says I’m her first non-salmon-eating kitty. I like being unique! We are now in the 60s and 50s so we think maybe finally Fall has fallen!
Happy weekend…..

I like both salmon and tuna, but my most favorite fish is catfish. Shrimp, of course, is my favorite seafood.😊

My Mom LOVES fried catfish – her Dad introduced her to it when they went on a trip to Indiana years ago. She’d never had it but it was his favorite fish and when she tried it – fried up nice and crispy – it’s been her favorite ever since. Favorite seafood for Mom is lobster but she also loves clams, shrimp and oysters too! As for Fall – yes indeed we have some – whether it STAYS after this week or not remains to be seen.

I don’t remember the first time I had fried catfish, but I have always loved it. The best place ever to eat it when we lived over in SC was at the Swamp Guinea in Hartwell, GA. I’d eat so much I would have to be rolled out of the place. haha
I am glad your grandpa introduced your mama to fried catfish. 🙂

Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins, Teddy and Mom Pam! Did you say salmon? Now our mouths are watering! And I agree with you about being ready for fall to finally arrive. Around here, the first part of last week included days nearing 90°F. Then, on Friday, it snowed! Where’s the fall in all of that? It is supposed to be much nicer and more seasonal this week, though, and we can’t wait! We hope you get some autumn, too!
