Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Happy Thursday friends!   Time for our THANKFULS with Brian and our poetry with Angel Sammy.    First up – thankfuls………….and since this is a Blog Hop, if you’d like to join in and tell the world what you’re thankful for, click his badge and join in.

This week I think I’ll just concentrate on being thankful for all my friends and all of you who follow our blog.   If not for our visitors and commenters every day of the week, we wouldn’t be here.   We wouldn’t be having fun every single day.   There would be no Teaser Tuesday or Poetic Thursday or Bakin’ with King Teddy – – – I would miss all of that and hopefully our followers would too.   So let me just say it again – THANK YOU!!!

Angel Sammy got his email to me with his poem for today and his post for all of you…………’s below and he said he hopes you enjoy it!

Greetings from the Bridge!    Another week has gone by and it’s time for us to share poems.   I hope you look forward to Thursdays for that reason along with whatever else you enjoy Thursdays for.   I am hoping you wrote a poem to share with us today – if you did, please tell us you did and give us your link in COMMENTS.   We will visit and read your poem!    Every week I give you a photo that is meant to inspire you to write some bit of poetry.   It’s good for you to be creative and I hope you take the opportunity of some “photographic inspiration” to do that.

Here’s the photo I gave you last week to use for this week:

Now this family is having fun TOGETHER!!   I know about “a bicycle built for two” but this one is a “whopper” !!     Here’s the poem I wrote to go with this photo:

“Tandem Togetherness”

By Angel Sammy Kimmell     October 10, 2018

Breezing along on the trail or the road

With five of us pedaling we’re sharing the load!

Enjoying the breeze and camaraderie

Our family can be together and set ourselves free.

The smiles on our faces tell the story of fun

All riding together we’re five and not one.

We’ll stop when we’re ready and talk about the ride

How we pushed ourselves hard – as a matter of pride.

Together we are strong as an active family –

Whether on our bike or not – we’re as CLOSE as we can be!

I really liked this photo – and it reminded me of the Mom and Dad of the Kitties Blue who have a tandem bike they ride a lot.   Imagine having FIVE riders – has to be a lot of fun.    Here’s the photo I found for you to use for NEXT week’s Poetic Thursday.   See if you can’t write a poem inspired by this photo and play along with us next week won’t you?

I found this very cool photo of Old Faithful………….thought we could come up with some fun poetry for this one!    GOOD LUCK!    Don’t be afraid of trying your hand at a poem!   Trust me – you’ll enjoy it.

I continue to be super duper busy here at the Rainbow Bridge – I love the work I do and I always have time to look out for my family and friends……………..we’re always here for you!    See you next week……………

I am the Angel Poet in the green beret…..and I hope you join me for POETIC FUN each week!

Love from above………….Angel Sammy

Thanks Angel Sammy……………….that photo for next week has me wondering – – – I don’t think I’ve ever SEEN such a weird looking cat before!!!!!!!    See you all next week…………..

Love, Teddy

  1. oh you made a special pawem about togetherness… we love that… sometimes a furmily is really like a tandem, all should pedal together in the same direction to make progress, right ? we love the photo for next week… it reminds us of bully sticks…yum!

    • We liked your poem today too except we are MAD that some weirdo guy tried to run Da Nelly and Da Mom over on his bike! Crazy! You have the right thought about tandems/families…..working together WORKS!!!

      Hugs, Teddy

  2. I love Angel Sammy’s poem. I think The Cat Scouts should get some of those bikes. Next week’s poem looks fun. I felt like singing, Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam. 🙂 XO

    • HA! Mom said the same thing about that photo – that’s the first thing that went through her head. Buffalo are so interesting and the photo is cool because the buffalo have been around FOREVER like Old Faithful has!!

      Hugs, Teddy

    • HowDEEEEE Tabbies! You can do anything you want with the photos Angel Sammy sends for the po-e-tree challenge – he said to tell you that. He also said your “double high coooo” is fab-luss AND he bets you are right about the man – uphill would be VERY TOUGH because we bet HE is doing MOST of the PED-LIN !!!!!!

      Love ya

  4. Very good Angel Sammy! You had a happy home so I can see where your happy poem about togetherness came from. Happy is where we want to be. Going to be interesting with those buffalo! Teddy, those are some BIG cats! Teddy tell your Mom I am so sorry about PROcrastinating but it has been so boring around here I haven’t felt like I had anything to type to her! Well, it was boring until Michael… 🙂

    • Michael roared through here last night and we had bad storms and HIGH winds and lots of noise which I hated! I headed for my basement! It’s also 20 degrees cooler now than it has been – that part is nice! Miss Pix I think those big kitties in front of the geyser in that photo are SKEEEERY looking! Should be an interesting poem from Angel Sammy next week……..My Mom said to tell you to write whenever you want. She’s always here (well almost always!).

    • Oh I think Miss Dingleberry is up for the challenge of those who question her ability to feed the thousands – OK – tens……anyway, I thought she needed a good haircut in that photo of her standing in front of Old Faithful – or maybe a shave???????

  5. Mom says more families need to do this today, get out in the air with family and have simple fun, like in the old, old days:)

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

    • Your Mom is right……those were the days before cable TV, video games, cell phones, etc. – families did more together as the “distractions” were fewer! (at least that’s what my Mom said!).

      Hugs, Teddy

  6. That is a long bike! you wrote a great poem for the photo, Angel Sammy.
I like that photo of you in your cube, Teddy. You look very sweet.

    • My lion cube makes me feel MIGHTY……! That bike is strange looking to me – but then I can’t imagine riding on wheels anyway – I’ll leave that to the crazy humans right Miss Jackie???

      Hugs, Teddy

  7. You’re thankful is so purrfect, Teddy. We are also so grateful for all of our blogging friends, like you! And fantastic poem, Angel Sammy. That bicycle image, and of course your poem as well, brings back memories of my childhood. Though we never tried a tandem bike, my parents, my sister, and I all used to go on bike rides together on a regular basis. Togetherness sure is a wonderful thing! Now, on to next week’s poem. This image sure is going to be fun to work with!

    • That must have been fun to have family bike rides – I’m not sure either of my parents COULD ride a bike! Loved your story-poem this week and can’t wait to see what you do with Old Faithful and those amazing buffalo.

      Love, Pam
