Friendly Fill Ins

Standard

Hello and Happy Friday!    Even though Annie at McGuffy’s Reader is on a blogging hiatus for a while, Ellen at 15andMeowing has partnered up with Lorianne at FourLeggedFurballs to keep the Fill-Ins going while Annie is taking a break.   We are happy to be pawticipating this week!    If you’d like to join in the fun, click the badge above and be taken to 15andMeowing to LINK UP!

Here are this week’s sentences to fill in and our fill-ins are in RED.    Oh yes – I forgot to tell you – I let my Mom be the “filler-inner” this week……nice of me huh???

1.Happiness is what keeps me young.

2. Ten years ago, I was happily living life with my husband and an adorable ginger cat and I STILL am – but the cat is now Teddy when back then it was Sammy!.

3. Laughter truly  is the best medicine.

4. Most people don’t know that I have written three books myself, contributed to an anthology written by all women, and been the editor of a poetry book for a publisher.
Mom I think everyone knows you’ve written books but then again we have a lot of new followers who might not know that.
We hope that you have a fabulous Friday – we are having a WET Friday which fits right in with the rest of this week because it’s rained EVERY DAY.   A couple of very dangerous storms among them, but mostly just dark skies and heavy rain.    Luckily, my Dad has indulged my love of being outside by putting on my harness and his rain gear and taking me out in the rain.   Know what?  I don’t mind it one bit.   I don’t mind getting WET as long as it’s RAIN doing it and not a bath with soap!  YUCK!

Love, Teddy

  1. Happy Friday! Sorry that you have rain yet again….maybe next week will be a beautiful sunny one, and you and your pawrents can enjoy the outside without rain gear!
Great answers from your mom, and we love that she mentioned her writing as well as editing the poetry book. She is quite a talented lady…and SWEET!!!

  2. That was sweet of you to let your Mom complete the fill-ins, I enjoyed her answers. She is an excellent writer and I enjoyed all her books. I wish she would write a sequel to her mystery novel. I love the art she made this week with your photo, this is one of my favorites, I like that stained glass effect. Have a great weekend! XO

    • Hi Miss Ellen! You need to “crow” about your OWN writing success but my Mom has always been glad that you enjoyed her mystery book. I wish she’d write a sequel too but that most likely isn’t going to happen. I thought it was nice of me to let her fill in today too but then sometimes the questions are just easier for humans to answer don’t you think?

    • Clowie it’s still raining – STILL – we’ve had 12 days of rain either all day or part of a day. Stuff is as GREEN and LUSH as it could be which is nice but a little LIGHT would be nice too! LOL We are trying to laugh about it but – well – it’s not easy! LOL

    • Good Morning to you too! Laughter is incredibly good for our hearts and souls. It most certainly leads to more happiness in our lives too I think. It’s not always easy to find “happy” unless you BELIEVE you will find it and see it. I do!

    • Very wise words! Very TRUE words too….it takes a special outlook on life to find humor or even happiness in all situations but it can be done. Humans have the ability to do ANYTHING if they want it bad enough!

  3. Thank you for joining in on the Fill-Ins! Happiness really can keep us young. Age is just a number, whereas happiness is a fountain of youth. And I really admire that you’ve written books. I love writing, and it is one of my goals to write as many stories, books, and other random tidbits that I can. I’m sort of in the early stages of writing some stories/books that have been floating around in my head for some time. Have a wonderful day!

    • Thanks for helping out with the Fill-Ins! I’ve always enjoyed being part of that Hop. I loved writing too – very much – and you should pursue it because you are enormously talented! It’s a wonderful experience even if it’s a little frustrating to find a literary agent or find a publisher if you DON’T have an agent helping you with it but it’s a very exciting experience. I used to love the book signings – meeting people and having a chance to talk about my books. GO FOR IT Lorianne…..you just HAVE to….you have a special talent.

    • We have more rain today and more for almost this whole next week. We are getting moldy and mossy and mildew and are thinking maybe we should buy a pile of sunlamps and turn one on in every room and PRETEND we’re at the beach!

  5. I like your mom’s answers, Teddy. Eric and Flynn both loved sitting in the middle of the lawn in the pouring rain. When they came in I would towel dry them, and if I wasn’t quick enough to stop them, they would go right back out in it again.

    • That’s what happened to me this morning Miss Jackie. Mom sat on the front porch and watched me and I stood on the sidewalk in the rain for five minutes and got SOAKED. Mom gathered me up and wrapped a big towel around me and “HUGGED ME DRY” !!!!!

  6. Mom hadn’t thought about happiness keeping one young, but that’s a great fill-in. And she hadn’t thought about which cats were here ten years ago. Of the current crew, only Mau and Misty May. We’ve had five inches of rain in the last two days. We’re ready to float away. Try to stay warm and dry. • The rain stopped about an hour ago here – no sun but at least no rain. It’s so wet out there it’s ridiculous and the grass is about 10 inches high. Mom’s gonna have a blast mowing whenever it is she gets to! STAY HAPPY and we hope your Mom and Dad have a fun Anniversary dinner tonight!!

    • I think it does…..unhappiness pulls you DOWN and when you’re DOWN you barely move and you kind of “fold in on yourself” and you look ten years older than you are. SMiling and being happy makes you perky and younger than your years. It truly works!

      Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)

  7. Petcretary used to have a nickname from one of her former residents at the nursing home:
    Miss Giggle-puss, MOL!
She tries to make her peeps she is caring for giggle at least once each shift…telling jokes, stories of her own life or from us furry ones, or just find the humor in what is happening at that particular moment. It truly helps, both the cared for and the caregiver.

    • Proof positive that laughter truly IS the very best medicine! It’s good to make people smile or laugh……and your Petcretary I’m sure is well loved at the nursing home for that and many other reasons!
