Friday Cleaning Day

Standard

Remember before Friendly Fill-Ins on Friday we had CLEANING DAY?

Sammy called it MONSTER DAY….

It was Monster Day because that’s what he called the vacuum!

Well, since there is no Friendly Fill-Ins today, we are having a sort of flashback to the good old Monster Friday days.   Do you remember who used to come clean our house?   The Broomhildas???????

They did a great job too but they moved on eventually and we STILL have housecleaning around here on Fridays but Mom does it on her own with some help from my Dad.   Just like Sammy, I am NOT a fan of the MONSTER so I stay out of the way until the noise stops then I come out and inspect everything to make sure it’s been done correctly and to my HIGH STANDARDS.

We thought you’d maybe enjoy seeing some of the old jokes and fun that used to “populate the pages” of our blog on Fridays.

Then there were all those friends willing to help out!

Yep – those were fun Fridays.   But we miss Friendly Fill-Ins so we hope our co-hosts Annie of McGuffy’s Reader and Ellen of 15andMeowing give us a challenge next Friday…….until then – HAPPY HOUSECLEANING!!!!

I hate it just as much as Angel Sammy did, Doc!

Hugs, Teddy

Maybe I’ll help by cleaning the sink??????

  1. I’m not scared of it, but I hate the noise of the vacuum cleaner! Our cats hide until it’s put away again.

The other day the male biped said he couldn’t find a pen and the female biped told him to look under the sofa! There weren’t as many things under there as in that picture, but it is where the cats hide things they’ve ‘acquired’.

    • My Dad routinely puts a yardstick UNDER the couch and TV stand and recliners to pull out “things” that I’ve whapped into oblivion. One of my favorite toys is ping pong balls and they roll ALL OVER THE PLACE. Cleaning day everything gets rounded up again for another week of fun! LOL

  2. Those were funny cartoons, Teddy!

I loved the one about getting things done cause the internet was down…yup,,,its like that around here too, MOL!

Our Angels Simba and Toki both enjoyed the vacuuming days…and they wanted to get their share of that vacuuming on their furs. In fact Simba would o to the place where the vacuum stopped and wait for his ‘session’.
MJF wanted to have his furs vacuumed too…Toki taught him I think:)
I just go to another room…and Dalton tries to attack te monster, silly pup!

    • We love seeing videos of pets who like to be vacuumed…..it makes Mom and me both laugh like crazy. I guess it feels good but I find that I just can’t deal with the NOISE! Maybe if I tried earplugs?

    • I think the worst part of cleaning day around here is having TWO monster machines at work simultaneously. Dad helps Mom by vacuuming the upstairs while she’s working on the downstairs…..there is a monster in the closet on both floors and when they’re both going it’s too much for me – I head for the basement where it’s QUIET. A guy needs his rest right Phenny? Sorry you had rain on the inside AND outside last time your Mom cleaned. You need to carry an umbrella with you at all times.

    • HAHAHAHA…….The monster hasn’t come out of the closet yet this morning so I’m having a nice long nap but the noise should be starting up soon………..!!

  3. We aren’t bothered by the vacuum here – I was desensitized to those types of noises as a kitten, and Binga and Boodie… I’ll just say that at their age, they are maybe a bit hard of hearing.

    • The cleaning this morning wasn’t bad because I had already moved down to the basement for the morning so I barely knew what was going on upstairs! HAHAHA We loved the flashback too – haven’t seen the funnies in ages.

  5. I love this flashback. I think it is great your folks clean the house together. My hubby does nothing inside, but he does deal with the outside. XO

    • He’s your gardener guy and you’re the indoor lady……whatever works right? Mom is happy Dad helps but she really COULD do it all herself – he started helping when she was so sick a few years ago and just never stopped helping out! She’s not about to stop him. HAHAHA

  6. Love these cousin! And Hemi does the same thing here at the Hotel Thompson. He *has* to drink out of the bathroom sink. It’s his personal water fountain. Hilarious! Happy Friday ❤ XOXO – Bacon

  7. mol…I love it. Not the vacuum but you’re opinion of the vacuum. I hide in my pillow fort till it’s gone. For some reason the vacuum never gets ‘s near the pillows.

You having a drink at your double sinks is wonderful. A nice sized bathroom with 2 sinks….I can dream.

  8. I absolutely hate the vacuum from the planet Doom but you know what? My brother, Anderson, hates brooms even more. He’s scared of ’em. Peep #1 says someone must have hit him with one before he came to live with us. Remember how he lived outside in the cold for several months before learnin’ to trust my peeps? Yeah, he doesn’t talk much ’bout it but I think he had a really hard time. purrs

    • Poor Anderson – I betcha someone used to chase him away with a broom like you said….pretty sad isn’t it. I’m glad Anderson found his way to YOUR house and got his “broomless” FOREVER there with you!!!!

  9. What a bummer that the vacuum scares you, T. Luckily, I am not afraid of it. Mom vacuums obsessively every single day – sometimes TWICE a day. She says it’s because of me. Apparently white furs and a dark brown floor is a bad combination.

  11. I remember and miss the old monster Fridays! I think the first time I saw that cat toy meme on your blog was not long after I’d moved the big chair in the living room and discovered my own bounty of cat toys showing where the chair had been like a chalk outline!

    • It’s so funny how just about the time we think we should get poor Teddy more toys, David goes around with a big yardstick and pokes around all the furniture and finds all kinds of STUFF…..his current favorite thing is those spring toys and they are EVERYWHERE. Between that and pong pong balls, I think Teddy has enough STUFF to last years.
