Ready to do a little baking in Baconia??
I hope you are……….and I think you’ll like this one even if it’s ever so slightly overloaded with ingredients. It’s yumminess MORE than makes up for having a longer grocery list (although I must say my Mom had most of this stuff in our pantry anyway!).

Zee Baconian Castle has EVERYTHING in zee pantry Monsieur Le King!
Yes I think we probably have the best equipped kitchen in the universe Chef………..and I thank you from my Kingly heart every Saturday when you allow me to mess up your pantry, use every pot and pan and utencil there is in this place and make a huge mess all for the sake of eating ANYTHING that has bacon as an ingredient!
Today’s recipe is a dessert………..and I’ve served these before here on the blog on special occasions but never given you the recipe………..are you ready Bacon Fans????
Chocolate Magic Bacon Bars
INGREDIENTS:
-
18 KRAFT Caramels (I say KRAFT because those are the easiest to find but any caramel candies will do)
-
1 Tbsp. 2% milk
-
1 pkg. (16.5 oz.) refrigerated sugar cookie dough
-
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
-
1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
-
3/4 cup Slivered Almonds, toasted, coarsely chopped (I don’t bother toasting them but you can if you want to)
-
1 cup flaked coconut, toasted (again not necessary to toast but it does make it crunchier)
-
6 slices Bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces, cooked (yes of course you can make more bacon if you want to…….!)
DIRECTIONS:
-
Heat oven to 350°F.
-
Microwave caramels and 2% milk in microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 to 2 min. or until caramels are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring every 30 sec.
-
Line 13×9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides. Press cookie dough onto bottom of prepared pan. Pour condensed milk over dough. Top with layers of chocolate, nuts, coconut and bacon; drizzle with caramel sauce.
-
Bake 25 min. or until lightly browned. Cool completely. Use foil handles to lift dessert from pan before cutting into bars.

IF ONLY I COULD EAT CHOCOLATE!!!!
Yes I know what you mean………..chocolate is a no no for we cats AND dogs as well and for any human who is trying to lose weight but GOSH, chocolate is also important because it’s a mood-enhancer and SO DARN YUMMY (for humans of course). Anyway it’s a dy-no-mite dessert/snack.
That’s what I say!!!!!
Give these a try and make your tummy happy…………………….
Til Next Week When I Destroy the Castle Kitchen Again!!

IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tee Hee!!

Yep!
I am back and commenting again! I was going to try and catch up, but with over 500 items in my reader I have decided it is impossible and will start from today.
I have never thought of bacon with chocolate and caramel, but all of your recipes turn out tasting delicious, Teddy, so I am sure this one is too.

That does sound yummy! We don’t have sweet chocolate – do you know if carob can be substituted?
LikeLike
Absolutely you can use carob……..in fact I don’t use sweet chocolate either – I prefer semi-sweet!

I thought I could, but it was wise to ask prior to make a potentially unwise substitution. A neighbor gave me some actual chocolate for Christmas and it sat here for months until I found someone to pass it along to. Carob, on the other hand, is tasty, and good for diet + health.

Yes and it is chocolaty so I’m sure it would substitute JUST FINE!

Then it’s a plan! Spinach salad is a family favorite – we toss our spinach leaves with chunks of bacon, sliced boiled eggs and shredded cheese + make the dressing with bacon grease, apple cider vinegar and a bit of brown sugar.

Can you believe there was no bacon for me at the BlogPaws conference?! A couple of times there was crumbled bacon to add to salads, but my human didn’t bring me any.

NO BACON???? Summer – I am beginning to think it’s a conspiracy…..bacon may not be the BEST thing in the world for humans or kitties but it’s not THAT BAD and it is delicious!! Well, bacon crumbles wouldn’t have been the same for sure. I saw Miss Marjorie’s video of the conference and you in one of your pretty dresses doing high fives AND ringing your bell…you looked adorable of course!

Petcretary says she is delirious with desire to have some of that! None of those ingredients are in our pantry though…except maybe almonds and coconut…
Maybe she will give that recipe to the activity peeps at her work…to charm the taste buds of the residents! They often cook things on Fridays.

Oh that’s a good idea for the nursing home residents AND it would give them something FUN to do (and eat!).

Oooh, Mom says this sounds yummeroo. Dad used to like a cookie bar that had all these ingredients (except the bacon). Chocolate is okay for humans, especially if it is dark (Mom’s favorite) and in moderation. Chocolate in moderation is about the same as that piece of uneaten bacon on the floor. Hugs an kisses! There are several recipes like this one out there – and they are all delicious! At least I have to take Mom’s word for that since we can’t have chocolate…..but the bacon part is the interesting part anyway right?
