Friendly Fill-Ins

Standard

Friday!   Time to have some fun with filling in the blanks on the four sentences our co-hosts give us every week.    Ellen of 15andMeowing and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader both give us TWO sentences to finish up in this fun Hop – the result is those of us who fill in the blanks learn a lot of interesting STUFF about each other!  It’s fun!   Want to join us?   Just click on the badge above, fill in the LINKY tool and that’s all there is to it!!

Here are this week’s four sentences and I let my Mom fill them in for us………her own words are in RED.

1. Teddy keeps me BUSY – when he’s awake he’s a bundle of energy.

2. Honesty is the secret to lasting friendships.

3. A friend is a GIFT to be cherished.

4. Right now, I am thankful to be alive.

OK Mom – good job!    I guess I am a bit of a “hand full” aren’t I!    I can bug you and Dad to bits when I want to go outside – now that I’ve learned how to say “OWWA” (out) I say it at the front door while trying to open it myself with my two paws.   Well Angel Sammy taught me that one so you can blame him.   HAHA    I’m sorry one of my favorite things is wallowing in the dirt when I’m out there though.  I have three favorite spots in the yard that have no grass and are just DIRT and boy do I love to roll around in those spots!    Daddy calls me his little “dirtball”………and you call me your little “piggy”.   I’m glad I can provide entertainment for you two………….

My Mom is going to mow the yard for the first time this Spring tomorrow.   She’s so excited you’d think she’s going on a trip or something.   She loves to mow.   The best thing about all of that is that it is truly STARTING to feel Spring-like here.   We have a couple of days in the 80s coming up before it dips back down into the 50s/60s and leaf buds are coming out on the trees.   It’s been EVER so slow coming but we’re happy to see it at long last.

We all hope you have a great Friday and weekend……………..and that Spring is reaching you wherever you may be!

Love and Spring-like hugs, Teddy

  1. Spring has reached us in that the plants and trees are coming back to life, the birds are busy with their nests, there are lambs in the fields. But the weather is more than a little temperamental, winter won’t quite leave!

    Have a great weekend!

    • You have a good weekend too Clowie – today is our first REAL taste of Spring (or maybe Summer???) as it will get to EIGHTY DEGREES……and maybe – just maybe – Spring will STAY this time!

  2. We would be very happy to let your Mom come mow the yard here whenever she would like. Yin loves rolling in dirt too. And thanks to the dogs and their holes in the yard there is plenty of dirt. You are welcome to come roll in the dirt here whenever you would like.

    • Oh wow! Dirt? Holes? Now you’re talkin’! Thanks for the invite……Mom says she might pass on the lawn mowing thing though – our yard is a bit of a challenge and with the erosion over the winter I’m thinking she will have a bumpier ride than last year. She’s liable to be a little bit SORE (if you know what I mean) by the time she gets off that lawn tractor….tee hee….hope there are some available tushie cushions in the house!

    • Mom would prefer I “grow out” of rolling in the dirt….maybe I should at least think about it? One of these days she’s liable to decide I need a BATH and that must NEVER happen!

  3. Teddy, we are gonna get 80 degrees too! The air conditioning came on yesterday late afternoon. I was so surprised! Today is a gift, isn’t it? Each one is. Mom and I both are thinking like your mom. We are grateful to be alive too. XO

    • Oh I am GRATEFUL to have Teddy keeping me hopping – it’s easy to get lazy when you’re retired and I don’t want that to happen – with this little guy on my case no chance!!!!! LOL Teddy will most certainly be rolling this weekend – at least today and tomorrow – Sunday we have rain so he will NOT be rolling in the mud!

      Happy Friday!

  5. I love your truths about friendship! Teddy is a most excellent “keep ya busy” BeanBoy! You have taught me so much about being thankful every minute of every day… about the little things, the big things, and the good times and the stormy times. I am happy and thankful that you are alive, yes I am!!!!

    • She DOES love to mow…..she really does and I saw her out there while she was mowing and she had a HUGE smile on her face! Go figure…..Dad is happy SHE likes to mow because he’d rather do the trimming and blowing. The lawn looks pretty good considering how weird winter and early spring have been!

    • She finished mowing a while ago and came in with a BIG SMILE…..she does love to mow the lawn on the lawn tractor. I like going outside when she’s finished because I get to graze on freshly mowed grass!

      Happy Friday!

    • Well Marvelous at least you have your Mom home instead of her being at work…..that’s almost as joyous an occasion as Spring right? Purrrhaps you will have some sun for catio-absorbing this weekend?!

  8. Your mom is going to cut the lawn? We barely see the lawn! Next to the house the grass is turning greenish but out a bit further the grass is brown and yucky looking. A good month and a half before mowing. I would guess the the end of May.

    • We have some new peeps taking care of our lawn now and they are doing an amazing job getting us GREEN again. Our soil was depleted and after adding a lot of nutrients we are again seeing GRASS! YAY!!! Mom loved mowing yesterday – mowing grass is much nicer than mowing dirt.

  10. Great Fill-Ins by Mom Pam. We are so happy that spring is here and that you are feeling well again, Teddy, so you can spend time outside. We didn’t know you had learned o say, “out.” That’s exceptionally cool. Enjoy that dirt rolling. Mau loves to do that as did our white cat, Madison. Maybe it’s a boy thing. • Sammy had the same spots that I use for rolling as his “lying down in the yard” spots….he didn’t roll around in them and get covered in dust/dirt but maybe I just KNEW they were good spots for CATS! He left a sign for me!!!

  11. It is very true that honesty is the secret to good, lasting friendships. If we cannot be honest with our friends, we must not think too much about them. Have a great week.

  12. YAY! I’m glad you’re finally getting spring there! We’re supposed to be having cold temps tonight, in the 40s, but we’ve had days into the 80s. Usually, we reach 100 degrees before the end of April. So far, we haven’t and I hope we miss that appointment. 🙂

We’re glad you’re alive, too! I also love to mow grass, but every time I get a good groove going with it, they make me stop to take a rest. OY! Enjoy your mowing!

    Have a blessed weekend.

    • We were in the 80s yesterday but expecting rain and cooler temps today. I really loved mowing the lawn a couple of days ago and hope the rain we’re getting means I can mow again SOOOOOOON!

      • We were in the 60s most of Sunday. It is 51 right now (just after midnight) and supposed to get down to 47. I guess we’re going to have a cool ride to wound care in the morning!

I’m glad you enjoyed the mowing. I did, too, but now I have poison-something (ivy, oak, I don’t know) and it itches like mad. Enjoy the rain. 🙂

        Have a blessed day.

        • OH NO ON THE ITCHIES! I hate that…..I try really hard to avoid getting too close to bushes, shrubs, high weeds but sometimes you can’t help it when you’re mowing. Hope you can find something to relieve the itch – it’s maddening! Happy Monday……….

          • Thank you. So far no luck on getting rid of the itch. I have a clear calamine lotion that I’ve been using, but I’m still itching like mad. I’m nearly tempted to just peel the skin off and be done with it, but it would be my luck that I would then have poison-whatever on the inside, too. :/

            Love,
            Suz
