Friday Fill-Ins and Dr. Seuss!

Celebrating Dr. Seuss’s Birthday AND Filling In Sentences!

We were happy to see that the sentences with blanks that we get from our co-hosts for this fun Friday Fill In Hop contained some Dr. Seuss related goodies – after all, we can’t let Dr. Seuss’ birthday pass without honoring him right?   I think Annie of McGuffy’s Reader and Ellen of 15andMeowing were WELL AWARE we’d all want to something Seuss-related and they were right.   Thank you both for hosting the Hop every week.    We love it.    If you’d like to join in the fill-in fun, click the badge above and it will take you to McGuffy’s Reader where you can LINK UP!

Mom is doing the filling in today…………..and her fill-ins are in RED……….

1. My favorite Dr. Seuss book is Green Eggs and Ham – but honestly – I loved them ALL

2. The most interesting person I have ever met is tough to pick out of all the interesting people that I’ve met but I think I’d say Bob Hope – I worked at Mutual Broadcasting Radio many years ago and met a lot of celebs but he was the BEST of the BEST

3. Besides books by Dr. Seuss, my favourite book as a child was “The Tale of Peter Rabbit” by Beatrix Potter.

4. Lately, I have been working on cleaning closets and cupboards – all the places where we store things then promptly forget where they are!

Thanks Mom……………..well done!   Now here are a few Dr. Seuss-related goodies for your entertainment……………….

Me and Angel Sammy – the “important THINGS” !!

Mom wants one of these!!!!!

Thanks Dr. Seuss for (as my Mom says) “a lifetime of fun” !!

Love, Teddy

P.S.  Sunday (March 4) is my 2nd birthday and you are all invited to my party RIGHT HERE!   I’ll feed you food and cake and I’ll still participate in Sunday Selfies with The Cat On My Head…….I hope you will do that too!

    • Oh Oliver and Calvin I’m glad you’re going to pop by on Sunday for some birthday fun. Meanwhile we can have some birthday fun on behalf of Dr. Seuss – he would be a lot older than me that’s for sure! 🙂

      Love, Teddy

  3. I love the Grinch, I forgot that Dr. Suess wrote that book (thanks Phenny). If you do happen to find one of those cleaning machines in your closets, make sure to let us know, I’m sure quite a few people would be interested in borrowing it.

    • That machine really could handle everything simultaneously – I bet it makes a terrific noise though – however it would be WORTH IT to have all that happen in one pass through the house! LOL

      Love, Pam

  4. Good Morning, VirginiEEEEEEEEEE! Like your Fill-ins! I don’t know about most interesting… yeah, most interesting and the coolest guy from Motown… Smokey Robinson! My Mom would have loved to have met Bob Hope! My favorite book as a child… I don’t know. I wasn’t much into reading or being read to but I guess it would have been Black Beauty. My fav children’s book as an adult is The Velveteen Rabbit. Lately I have been working on getting internet… 🙂

  5. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I like Green Eggs and Ham too and Peter Rabbit. 🙂 We will definitely be here for your birthday Teddy. XO

  6. First off…You and Sammy make the best Thing 1 and Thing 2 EVER!!!
Jo Jo and I thought it would be fun…but Mom says we are already Thing 1 and Thing 2!
My Mom LOVED your Fillins! Green Eggs and Ham is her favorite book too! She read it to her little sister so many times when they were little, she says she still knows all the words. She also is a big fan of Peter Rabbit. Especially Tom Kitten.
I won’t miss your Birthday Pawty for the World! Wow! 23 years old! That makes you 5 months older than I!

    • Marv! It’s nice to be older than someone – seems like everyone else I know is older than I am!!! I thought you and JoJo made EXCELLENT “THINGS” for Dr. Seuss Day……Last year Angel Sammy and I were Thing 1 and 2 so Mom kinda used the artwork again (cheat cheat!). I’m glad your Mom liked Green Eggs and Ham AND Peter Rabbit too – my Mom says “no wonder I love Marv’s Mommy!”……….tee hee

      Love and Hugs, Teddy

  7. I just love Peter Rabbit books. I used to watch Bob Hope in his films must have been wonderful to meet him. See you on Sunday you are growing up fast. Hugs and Purrs.

  8. Green Eggs and Ham was a favorite book in our house when the kids were growing up, I have it memorized from reading it so many times! 🙂 The Tale of Peter Rabbit is a great book too!

Bob Hope did so much to brighten the lives of our military serving over seas, how fun that you got to meet him!

All of my closets, cupboards and drawers need organizing, I am very slow about getting it done, but if I don’t soon, the clutter may avalanche and bury me! 🙂

    • HA! What you said about closets and cupboards is JUST what my Mom said as she started making lists and making inroads into one of the closets this morning. If I don’t see her by dinnertime I’ll go on a hunt for her!

      Hugs, Teddy

  9. You and Angel Sammy look great together celebrating Dr. Seuss Day.

Here are some early birthday wishes – two already? Wow!!!

    Happy Dr. Seuss Day.

Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  10. It’s so hard to pick a favorite Dr. Seuss story…but we would have to say Green Egs and HAm because…welll…it has ham in it!! MOL/BOL!

  11. I was sure I commented yesterday but must have imagined it. You both make the cutest Things 1 and 2. I have never read any Dr. Seuss books, but used to love Beatrix Potter.

    • Thanks for thinking Sammy and I made good “THINGS”. Dr. Seuss books were nonsensical but if you gave them a second thought there was always a subtle message… that kids “got”…….and Bea Potter was magic my Mom says. Peter Rabbit was a book that she read so many times the pages almost lost print!

      Love, Teddy

  12. You two are definitely VITs…very important Things, and you look mighty adorable as well. This is such a great day. Your Mom’s favorite childhood book is a goody! How cool that she met Bob Hope. He was a great humanitarian and so funny in his movies. Sending lots of love to all. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer

    • HAHAHA…..Sammy and I were THINGS for last year’s Scouts Dr. Seuss pawty. Mom met bunches of celebrities when she worked at Mutual but that was a bazillion years ago. She still loves the movies though – he was great at everything he did!

      Love, Teddy
