SPARKS on Monday

Standard

Time for SPARKS on a Monday – a blog hop Annie of McGuffy’s Reader is hosting that has a goal of starting our week off with some inspiration – lighting up the corners of dark days – giving power to the positive things around us…….by sharing an inspirational quote, thought, photo and putting it “out there” for everyone to think about too!    Thank you Annie for giving us all a forum for sharing some inspiration.    Want to join us?  Click on Annie’s badge above and sign up on the Linky form……….

It’s interesting but when I was looking for something that would be a good SPARK today, I found a quote by a former President that REALLY, TRULY, is “me”………..those who know me know I am always touting “POSITIVITY”……..looking at the positive side of anything rather than the negative side.    Apparently our former President Abraham Lincoln was a fan of positivity too.    Since today is President’s Day in the US, I just knew it was the right one for me to share today…………….

That’s positivity alright…………as far back as I can remember I have believed that so many things are effected by our outlook – are we looking for something to complain about or are we thinking of ways to make that thing better?    Are we complaining because it’s raining outside or are we remembering that the rain helps keep our world green and beautiful?    Seems simple but I have to admit that I know a lot of people who DWELL in the negative.   Not me.    Count me on Abe’s side!

Happy Positive Monday!

Love Pam

    • Hope you have a wonderful week too! Since it’s a holiday here in the USA, everybody is at least starting their week with a smile……although it’s cold and rainy here! Glad you like the SPARK I found attributed to Abraham Lincoln.

  1. that is a super quote and it fits so perfectly to presidents day… the mama said that is a true saying… we can complain that the shoes have high heels or we can be happy that shoes are included at that heels… it would be a painful kind of stilt walking if we had to wear them without shoes ;O)))

  2. What a perfect (purrfect!) quote for today AND for you, Pam. I have told many people through the years that you & I have been friends that one quality I admire in you is that you’re always SO positive and look on the bright side of every situation. That’s a wonderful trait.

    • Thank you Dianna – that’s a wonderful compliment BUT you know you do the same thing really – you remain positive when there’s lots of reason NOT to be – In our case a lot of our “being positive” is so those near and dear to us (!!) will remain that way too. It’s a great motivator isn’t it?! 🙂

  3. I am familiar with that quote and yes, it is true. As I am getting annoyed, say, in traffic or behind someone that is very annoying— nowadays I say aloud “OK Carole, would you rather be behind this driver or would you rather be confined in a hospital or confined to your home”? Works every time. xx

    • YEP – that’s the idea alright. There’s always someone who is WORSE OFF than we are…..sad to think but it’s true. I do love this quote but had no idea it was an Abe Lincoln original!

  4. That is a great quote, I have heard it before, but didn’t know Lincoln had said it. I also chose a Lincoln quote, he is my favorite president-and was a cat lover 🙂 XO

  5. Hey, Angel Sammy, thank you so much for meeting Rosie, my little white doggie friend, at the end of the bridge. Knowing you were there to show her around and take her to her place really made my biped and I feel better about her going to the bridge. So we appreciate you very much. btw, your poems are wonderful too and we like today’s spark–good advice.

    • My Mom and Dad are interesting on this issue of positivity – my Mom is SUPER positive and my Dad is the most incredible pessimist EVER. LOL I suppose meeting in the middle is better than not meeting at all!

  7. I love this! I used to have a bookmark with this quote. This is my way of thinking. Find the positive, be thankful for it, and work on solutions where needed. Thank you for being part of this. I am thankful for you. HUGS. (P.S. Chloe Jo is having a rough time. Please remember her in prayers.)

    • Chloe Jo is getting lots of POTP from Teddy and some assistance from our resident Angel Sammy too – he has some pull you know! Glad you liked the Spark today because like you – this is most definitely how I think all the time. We love the Spark blog hop – it’s the very BEST way to start a week as well as reminding everyone of the power we all have within us if we just turn on that light bulb!!

  8. Hi Pam and Teddy
Thanks so much fur this Spark by Honest Abe. Dad feels it is impawtent to keep looking on the bright side and we keep reminding him. Today it is raining where we live and the sad is we have a leak in our roofs. The good part is it is just a little problem with the flashing on our chimbly and Dads friend will fix it this weekend. We have a good solid home and how nice is that. We were all without homes at one time and now have a nice warm place to live
Life is grand is it not
