Today Is Double Post Day!

First up is THANKFUL THURSDAY

This Blog Hop is hosted by Brian at Brians Home Blog – you can click his badge above to go there and sign up to be PART of Thankful Thursday if you like!    It’s our chance to tell what we are thankful for from the past week or whenever!    In my case I look back at the previous week and think about what I’ve been thankful for………….this week I was thankful to have my very FIRST “Gotcha Day”.    Mom and Dad brought me home to live with them on February 5, 2017 and what a wonderful life I’m leading here.   I was 11 months old and homeless at the shelter and now I’m not too far from turning TWO and living the life of “One Spoiled Cat” just like my Angel brother Sammy did!    I am truly thankful.

Again my Angel brother Sammy didn’t let us all down – he got his photo poem to me which is what we’ll be reading in PART TWO of today’s double post…………….here’s what he sent to us all!

♥♥♥

Hello Friends – it’s me coming to you from the Rainbow Bridge!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day……we celebrated at the Bridge too but we were all reminiscing about our BIGGEST LOVE – we all agreed those we left behind when we went to the Bridge are our most SPECIAL VALENTINES.

I hope you are enjoying the photo poetry challenge – those of you who are participating are really doing SO WELL with your poems – I’m pleased you’re having fun – I sure am.    This week’s photo is below followed by my poem to go with it – I hope you like it.    If you’ve written one, please leave your link in my comments so we can read it !!    If you haven’t joined us before – PLEASE DO – we encourage everyone to stretch their wings and write a poem….you CAN do it…..I promise you can.

“Home Sweet Home”

By Angel Sammy Kimmell   Feb. 15, 2018

In the vastness of space we can’t be alone

I mean other lifeforms – I’m not talking clones!

Do they have six heads and four legs – or more?

Will they visit us soon or have they been here before?

As we send things in space like satellites and rockets

Does some giant gather them up and stuff them in his pockets?

Are our space probes just trophies for beings in space?

When I look at this photo my imagination does race!

I can watch from my cloud at the Bridge and I wonder

Are other beings sending rain?  Are their voices the thunder?

Will they watch us implode or give us a hand………

Show us the way out before humankind’s last stand?

Such heavy thoughts for an Angel in paradise far away

The blue planet is still MY HOME, so I continue to pray

Planet Earth is a beauty – we can see that from afar

We must take good care of home – our Blue Planet Star…………..

Now it’s YOUR turn…………….I hope you’ve written a poem this week.    If you didn’t but think you’d like to give writing one a try – how about using this photo I’m about to show you as your inspiration for NEXT Thursday when we gather again for my Poetic Thursday?     Just look at this photo below and describe in your poem how it makes you feel, what you see, what you THINK you see, or anything else that pops into your head when you look at it!    Is it a deal?    Here’s next week’s photo challenge:

Have Fun With This One!

I’ll be back next Thursday to show you my poem – we all have a whole week to study the photo and write a poem………………until then, have a GREAT week!

Oui Oui – me in my French beret which inspires my POETRY!

Love, Angel Sammy

♥♥♥

Thanks Angel Sammy – I like your poem…………makes me think.   I hope that Earth will be around for a very long time and I think it will if we take good care of it!    Sending you hugs from EARTH to the BRIDGE……………..

Hugs, Teddy

    • Hi Phenny! Yes I know how lucky I was to join this family and I know you feel the same about your Mama and Dad….where else could you possibly have as much FUN as you do now?! We both helped to heal our family’s hearts and that is the BEST thing EVER. Hope you have fun coming up with a poem for next week’s photo!

    • Oh we just LOVE LOVE LOVE your TWO poems for today Madi! Also it was so much fun to see photos from the great trip to outer space Angel Sammy had some years ago. Lots of great memories. Glad you liked Angel Sammy’s poem today and we thank you as always for being part of the fun of Poetic Thursdays.

    • Yes – Teddy will turn two March 4th. He was already 11 months old when we adopted him from our shelter. Seems impossible we’ve had him a whole year – he’s just such a complete joy and we are so happy Sammy led us to him that day……as we were leaving with him from the shelter we learned there were two other families there WAITING to see if we actually followed through with the paperwork because they wanted him. YES WE DID I was happy to say!

    • Awwwwww…….Angel Sammy really does love wearing his French beret on poetry day. Mom has always thought that face he made up there on Daddy’s shoulder was totally hilarious – special but hilarious!! I think he did a good job on his poem this week too……can’t wait to see what happens NEXT week!!!!

  4. Teddy, I have no doubt that you and your parents were made for each other. You are all so blessed to have each other. And, Angel Sammy, your poem is beyond purrfect! I love the line about the space giant putting our satellites and rockets in his pockets. I can just picture it! I am really enjoying these photo prompts, and I look forward to it every week!

  5. Great poem, Angel Sammy. We aren’t so sure we want to meet those other creatures out there in space unless they are super nice. But then too, there are a lot of peeps here on Earth who need to learn to treat each other better and respect everyone’s life. We want EArth to be a happy and peaceful place.

    • Yes indeed – this is our home – at least for now – I guess there are those who are looking around in space for some other spot for us to move to but I’m thinking it won’t be in THIS life – good thing we all have NINE LIVES huh? Maybe by my #9 I’ll live on PLANET CATOPIA??????

    • Miss Annie I think Angel Sammy has a lot of time to see things from a different perspective up there on his cloud – he’s always liked poetry but focusing it on a particular photo has made it more of a challenge for him and hopefully everyone! We’re having fun……so is he. Next week will be very cool – Mom wants to take a vacation to that island for a few days – I heard her mention having a “cabana boy” with her – what’s that??????

  7. An ABSOLUTELY Purrfect Thankful and Purrfect Poem! We loved them both, especially about the little blue planet!
We are sorry we have been remiss in visiting this week. The never ending rollout that we have been expecting since August is actually getting closer and work is taking over Mom’s life!

    • Oh Marv you never need to worry about visiting us – friends are ALWAYS friends whether we have time to visit or not and let’s face it – we are at the mercy of our humans with this one – visting – it has to be when they can help us! If we could visit on our own we’d be having a party every day right? LOL Give your Mommy extra hugs for working SOOOOOOOOOOOO hard. Hopefully her work will get less intense and that will mean more MARV TIME!

  8. Sammy, we really like your poem, as we always do. So thoughtful. We pray very hard that the Earth will last for a very long time and lives won’t turn into chaos. You sure snagged yourself a great family, Teddy. And you are doing a great job following in your predecessor’s paw steps. We love you dearly. Mom did write a poem today about yesterday’s shootings. You can find it at http://www.thecatonmyhead.com/poem-pain-loss/

    • We were touched by your poem – the world is in turmoil and it’s reflected in the eyes of those who should be “the innocent” – our children. Desperately sad but we must keep hoping that something will change and soon. Glad you liked our poem – I think a lot of people were inspired especially with this particular photo – there were some GREAT ones written!! Next week’s photo I hope will be FUN……..we need FUN!

  9. Another great poem from Angel Sammy. It is very thought provoking this week. I am sure there are others “out there” and I do think they visited during the times of the Ancient Civilisations.
