Friendly Fill-Ins on Friday

Filling In Fun!!   A Cool Blog Hop

Have you tried filling in sentences on Friday?  You should.   This is a fun Blog Hop co-hosted by Ellen of 15andMeowing and Annie of McGuffy’s Reader and it’s easy but cool at the same time.  It’s a super way of getting to know our blogging community friends better and just have fun sharing stuff about ourselves.     If you click on the graphic it will take you to McGuffy’s and you can enter your blog link so we can come to YOUR blog and see how YOU fill the blanks.    But for now – I’m going to show you how Mom and I filled them out.    Actually I’m letting MOM do them this week – they are more suited to a human answering than ME ME ME!   Mom’s fill-ins are RED.

1. I would like to ask God why there is so much suffering in the world – I know I shouldn’t question things like that but I really would like to know.

2 My favorite fast food restaurant is McDonalds – we don’t go to Fast Food places but I do go through McD’s drive-thru every three months after my quarterly dental visit as a TREAT and get French fries!.
3. If I could go to any concert of someone still performing, it would be Doobie Brothers – once a fan, always a fan .

4. My Winter pastime is usually closet cleaning and cabinet clearing, because  it’s too cold to go outside COMFORTABLY!
OK Mom thanks for that…………………If you think Dad doesn’t know about that “post-dental-visit” French Fry orgy you have every three months, you’ve got another think coming.   He finds the salt between the seats when he’s vacuuming out your Buick.   TEE HEE…………….
Big thanks to our friends at McGuffy’s and 15andMeowing for co-hosting such a fun Hop.     We will do this again next week along with all of you we hope!

I see you!!!!!!

Love, Teddy

  1. I’m with you the golden seagull is a place we love too. And even when the french peeps have no clue about real burgers and even when we are hungry again 20 minutes after we spent a fortune there… yay for Mac D!

    • Mom is really hooked on their fries……after she gets her teeth cleaned at the dentist she goes there to “dirty them back up again” and gets TWO LARGE ORDERS of fries. Apparently that satisfies her craving for another three months before she visits the dentist again! HAHAHA

  2. Man’s fall in the Garden of Eden is the answer to why there is suffering in the world. I think by the time we get to heaven the things of this life won’t matter anymore. We’ll be too happy to even think about it. The last time I ate at McDonald’s I thought their quality was severely degraded compared to the 80s. We got breakfast at this visit, so I don’t know if their burgers & fries are good or not. Maybe, we’ll have to do a fast food hamburger comparison this summer. 😉 I like the Doobie Brothers but I don’t like concerts. I’m happy just listening to them on my CD player. Have a good weekend and keep warm!

    • I agree that once we leave this life all the things we worry about HERE just will fade into time. The only thing I get at McD’s is their French fries so not sure what the other things they have are like! When the Doobies were in their heyday they always played here in Virginia or DC and I was always there but that was in the 70s and while I just read that they are doing a tour this year with Steely Dan I most certainly won’t be going – nor have I gone in over 20 years. Concerts are noisy, scary (!), and not my way of really enjoying music. I prefer a recliner, my stereo and a bathroom nearby instead of a long line! HAHAHA Happy weekend!

  3. Oh, #1. I believe that much of this goes back to original sin. Also, as our Father, He teaches us right from wrong. But, He allows each of us to make our own choices…knowing that we must live with the consequences. It isn’t about what God wants, but what we have done. This comes from a conversation I had with a beloved elderly priest that I knew when I was 19. Father Kelly. Gone many years, I love him still.
#3! Doobies! Good answers. Bill loves their early stuff; well, I do, too. Great minds think alike, and #4 is what I said, too.
Thank you for your kindness this week. Clyde’s news is difficult. Hugs.

    • Yes indeed…..and we have paid for original sin through the ages as we deserve to AND I think we learn a whole lot by making mistakes – it’s very GOOD that we aren’t “fool-proof” and that we are fallible – lessons learned and REMEMBERED guide us through roadblocks in the future. I think my favorite Doobies stuff is the earlier stuff too – I have a “best of” CD that I listen to in the car quite frequently and even after all these years hearing their music it STILL makes me smile and all those music-related memories keep me smiling. As for darling Clyde – he’s my new little hero. He will be teaching a lot of us what living life to the fullest SHOULD be all about. I do hope and pray he outlives everyone’s expectations in spite of the odds – he’s a real brave little trooper even though he doesn’t have the slightest idea why!

        • I love that Clyde comes to you for that “moment”……Teddy does that too – he wants me to pick him up and hold him like a baby in my arm while I rub his face and paws and tummy…….I think it kind of hypnotizes him for a bit but then he’s up and running off on another adventure. It’s those moments that bond us so CLOSELY though and I know you enjoy that just as much as I do. Hugs to you AND little Clyde!

  4. Thanks to your mom for participating, great answers. I think it is great you only go for fries every few months. I seem to get them once a week, way too much. Excellent question for #1, I would love to know the answer to that. You are lucky your hubby vacuums your car for you. 🙂 Have a great weekend! XO

    • Fortunately he never comes along AND he thinks it’s hilarious that I manage to sprinkle a little salt here and there. I’m getting better about it though……I leave the fries in the big bag and keep two napkins inside it too so I really don’t get but a grain or two of salt on the floor! HAHA Practice makes perfect (or close to it anyway!).

    • Oh boy! I’ve never had ice cream but I bet I’d like it. Mom has never shared a French fry with me but I’d probably like that too – or at least I’d like to lick the salt off!!

    • Well Mom knows we shouldn’t question God’s way but sometimes it’s hard to imagine why suffering and pain and sadness have to be so overwhelming for so many people AND animals………as for McDonald’s – they definitely have the BEST fries!!!!!

  6. Mom doesn’t go to McD’s much for herself either, but when she does go with the grands, she always enjoys a few nibbles of their fries too – salty and tasty:)

    • My Mom only goes to MCD’s every three months so we figure a fry here and there isn’t gonna hurt BUTTTTT she needs to be more careful with the slat! HAHAHA Mom has been a Doobie’s NUT since their very first record “Listen To The Music” and golly she’s got some great memories from way back then.

  8. Ooh, Mom loves that Mom Pam has a quarterly french fry binge. McDonald’s does have great fries, but Mom doesn’t think she’s had any in at least 30 years!. We’d all like to know what’s up with #1…especially all the natural disasters of the past couple of years. Though our Mom has seen more groups than the average, the Doobie Brothers were never one of them. So much good music back in their generation. • My Mom was never a concert girl EXCEPT for the Doobie Brothers. But that was a whole lifetime ago (she says) and these days all the concerts she hears are on the Sirrius radio channel in her car! Yes the quarterly French fry thing is a tradition that she will NEVER break. It’s just such a nice reward – she does feel a little guilty having just had her teeth cleaned to go eat fries but then again……..
