Friendly Fill-Ins

Fill-In Funzies!

It’s that day of the week for the HOP we love so much – and it’s co-hosted by our friends 15andMeowing and McGuffy’s Reader.    In fact, if you feel like hopping aboard this Blog Hop, just click McGuffy’s badge above then sign up on the LINKY form!   Easy – go for it and share your thoughts with the rest of us Hoppers.   Every week both of those blogs give us a list of four (two from each) sentences with blanks – and we have to fill in the blanks……this week’s four sentences are below – AND, I let my Mom fill them in this week!   Her fill-ins are in CHRISTMAS RED!

1. The best part of last week was finally starting my Christmas shopping – I’m later than usual this year for some reason!

2. The worst part of last week was not finding all the stuff I wanted to get for gifts on my first time “out” – that means more shopping next week……

3. Closet cleaning and kitchen cabinet clearing out is a Winter project that I will be working on.

4. A holiday gift that I always buy for someone is Christmas socks – that’s right – it’s just a personal tradition to give socks to SOMEONE on my Christmas list!
YAY!   Thanks Mom – I couldn’t figure out how to answer ANY of those questions – this is my very FIRST Christmas so I guess I’m having to learn about family traditions and stuff so I’m afraid I’m not good with Christmas questions.  All I know is that I’ve been very GOOD so no doubt I’m on Santa’s NICE list.
Actually I already got an early present from Santa – he dropped it off yesterday and asked Mom and Dad if they wouldn’t mind being his “Virginia Elves” and putting it together because they were SO busy at the North Pole right now.   Mom and Dad said “of course” and they thought it might take several days to put it together but it didn’t – it took an hour!    So I got to have it EARLY (Santa told them I could have it early if they finished it early).    Here it is:
Pawsome huh?    Well, know what?   So far I haven’t gone near it.   I want some time to get used to it being in my basement.   I’m a BIG BOY too and I’m not sure I’ll really FIT on that thing.   It’s six feet tall and the “condos” are nice sized – that big one I can definitely fit in and the perches I can put my buns on and stare out the windows but so far, even with the temptation of following the Red Dot, or snarfing up some treats on one of the platforms – I’m keeping my distance.    Mom and Dad have said that I just have to get used to SEEING it there before I’ll use it.    I’m not so sure…………I kinda like the hanging mouses and the rope……..guess I’ll just have to be brave and give it a whirl!     I don’t want Santa Paws to be disappointed in me since he brought it to me.
Have you done your “WISH LIST” for Santa?   Time’s almost up – you all better do a list – and make sure you stay on the NICE LIST too unless you want to get a bag of coal (Mom told me that’s what BAD kitties get but that’s silly…….coal????????).
See you tomorrow for BAKIN’ WITH BACON (Christmas Version)……………woo hoo!!

  1. Oh Teddy, your tower looks pretty cool. I bet you’ll love it if you just try it. Maybe you can help your Mom bake Christmas goodies in the kitchen. Salmon or tuna horderves sound good. ⛄️🎄🤶🏻🤶🏻

    • Isn’t that a cool tower Phenny? It’s huge but so am I and I can’t seem to get the idea through my head that it’s not going to tumble over if I climb on it! I’ll get used to it I’m sure…!! EVENTUALLY!

      • I’m sure you pawrents will fix it somewhere so it will not move when you jump on it…. that’s always da crucial point if something starts to wobble or tips over we never use it again… the mama will work on the legs of the kitchen stairs now to make them wobbly…. she has no clue that I need no longer a chair to enter the table… butt please keep that secret I will surprise her hahahaha

        • Oh boy! Interesting situation with the kitchen table and chairs – I hope we will see some photos of that ATTEMPT when you try it Phenny! Santa brought me a cat tree that has “an extra large base for large cats” (so called) and it’s very stable really (weighs 70 lbs.) but I wasn’t too sure about it yesterday. Don’t tell my parents but when they are asleep at night and I’m two floors away from them down in the basement where my cat tree is, I’m playing with it (SECRET!).

  2. Your cat tower looks amazing! I think you’ll probably give it a try when no one is watching you. 🙂

I woke to find that Santa has sent me an early gift. Snow! Snow! I’m off to play in it before it melts. Have a fun weekend!

    • SNOW?????? Cool! (literally)………we will get a little bit of snow tomorrow and I can’t WAIT! You’re right by the way about my cat tree – in fact, don’t tell Mom but I’m already using it – just when nobody is around!

  3. Whoa! Santa really delivered on the cat tower… very cool. One day you will decide it is a fun thing to check out and then before you know it you will be in the hidey-holes! I finally started Christmas shopping yesterday. I experienced what you did in your second Fill-in. Good Morning!

    • Bummer not getting the stuff you wanted to get BUT there’s always more stuff out there………David had the same problem……two out of five things on my Wish List he could get but had to get different color than I wanted (no biggie) but the other things were already out of stock. Pays to shop EARLY I think! LOL As for the cat tree – we are ever hopeful Ted will trust that tree soon and do some exploring – in fact, I told David this morning that for all we know he HAS explored it when nobody was looking! LOL

        • It does seem weird that when you’re shopping the first couple of weeks of December NOTHING IS THERE TO BUY????!!!!!! Weird……..very weird……….As for ME – I’m innocent until proven guilty….(of anything!).

  4. Thanks to your mom for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. It is frustrating when you can’t find the item you want for someone. I think Christmas socks are a nice gift, they keep you warm and are fun to where. Teddy, you are a very lucky boy and clearly on the nice list. That is a great tree. Have a nice weekend! XO

    • I’m sure I will LOVE this tree once I get used to it- it’s BIG – six feet tall…..and I’m also BIG so it should work out great – eventually! My Mom loves socks – and she has a big collection of Christmas ones but she’s sure Dad will get her more for her Christmas stocking (hahaha).

  5. Squeals! Now cousin *that* is the condos of ALL condos. It looks like it would be a blast to visit for sure. And your header picture – OMP! That is totally awesome. We love it! Our wish list here is pretty simple this year – we just want mom to feel better and heal. Love you guys! XOXO – Bacon

    • That’s a really wonderful WISH LIST item – and we hope your Mom heals quickly too – but we know that SHE knows it’s going to take some time. I know all of you are taking FAB care of her there so she will heal FASTER than FAST and that would be the BESTEST present of all!

  6. We know you’re going to love that cat tree when you get used to it. Bummer on the shopping for your Mom. Our Mom has some stuff ordered but it’s back ordered so she’s worried it might not get here in time.

    • I am sure that once I am USED to that tree I’ll be ALL OVER IT! Hardly a Christmas goes by that SOMETHING isn’t available that she wants to order – but that’s OK – there’s always something ELSE out there that’s close!!

  7. Teddy! Oh! My! Cod!!! That tower is PAWSOME!!!
I will need a new one after Jo Jo and Kozmo are done with the one in the living room this Christmas. It is what Mommy calls an el Cheap-O and Kozmo (who weighs in at 22 lbs) has pretty much destroyed it in his extended visits with Mommy in the last 2 years.
Sooooo I am hoping that I too get a new one! Maybe while Daddy is here with his truck and him and my human brother Alex can carry it up the townhouse stairs ()and assemble it).
I can’t wait to see a picture of you on it!

    • Marv this tree was from Chewy.com and was on SALE – normally $110 and it was $69 (don’t tell my Mom and Dad that I found that out though!). I’m still not really playing on it but I need time to get used to it ya know? I hope YOU get a new one for Christmas – I hope so – that would be PAWSOME!!!!

  8. Christmas socks are fun – Mom has quite the collection herself. She and Dad decided to do mostly money gifts this year, made life a lot simpler and the kids love knowing ahead of time what they might be able to buy.

    • I think money is a perfect Christmas gift…………..everyone can use it – it doesn’t have a “size” – and it means you can get something you REALLY want instead of what someone else wants you to want!

  9. That is a great cat tree Teddy. I hope you soon start to use it. Maybe you are more of a ground dweller than a tree dweller and just need some encouragement. You could try asking for your supper up there one night and see how you get on up there.

    • Mom thinks maybe if she puts me at the tippy top I will HAVE to use the tree to get down and maybe along the way down I’ll realize how totally cool it is!! Actually (don’t tell) when Mom was downstairs this morning she looked on the cat tree and could see kitty paws on the carpeting on a couple of the levels….tee hee

  10. Teddy, that’s such a great gift, and you’ll love using it to watch out the window. Our mom says that she hasn’t finished shopping either, and she’s normally finished by August. So…tell Mom Pam not to stress. Our Mom thinks socks are a terrific Christmas gift. There are so many cutes ones. Sending lots of love and hugs. 11. That’s a pawsum cat tree Teddy. You’re gonna luv it. Mommy says you should never force a kitty to do anythin’ and then she has no patience and always forces us. We weren’t so sure ’bout our tree either, but once mommy depawsited us up there and we had to get down, it was old hat. MOL Maybe some silvervine could entice you. Big hugs

    Luv ya’

  12. ha! Bakin’ with Bacon 😀 oh the fun you have.
I haven’t finished my shopping either. I’ve actually gone backwards and returned things, LOL. Santa makes it look so easy.
I hope Teddy-Boy finds his way to that super awesome kitty condo/gym/perch, it looks fantastic. How nice of Santapaws! My two nutty-nuts spend a lot of time on theirs, but it’s in our livingroom. Very, very attractive….NOT. But they sleep and play and scratch all over it, so I pretend it’s not there. I wonder if you bring it to a room you’re in a lot if Teddy would find his way? Good Luck ❤

  13. I always enjoy your answers. Thank you for being part of the fill-ins. Please let me know if you find thick, soft, flat seamed socks. I love socks like that. Your tradition made me laugh. Teddy, it took Maggie years to finally try out the cat tree. She likes to sleep on it, now. She only goes halfway up, but we are proud of her. HUGS!

    • I’m so glad I’m not the only SLOW LEARNER about cat trees. Mom understands and is patient but my Dad is upset that I’m not playing on it! I just want to take my time letting new stuff into my world PERIOD! Mom will keep an eye out for socks like those……my Mom is a sock-a-holic!
