Friendly Friday Fill-Ins

Standard

Boo!

(Never fear – I know it’s not Halloween – I was just PRACTICING!!!!!!)

Happy Friday………..today we fill-in sentences in the fun Blog Hop that is co-hosted by Annie of McGuffy’s Reader and Ellen of 15andMeowing!    If you’d like to join this HOP, and do some filling in of your own, just click below and be magically transported to McGuffy’s where you can copy the sentences and fill in your OWN blanks!!!!!

I thought I’d let my old Mom give filling in another whirl this week………………..even though she and Dad deserted me overnight to celebrate my Dad’s birthday, they DID come back home today so I have decided to FORGIVE her and Dad.   Aren’t I nice?  Her reward for coming back to me is doing the fill-ins and she did them today in BRIGHT RED!

1. October is the perfect time to clean out my clothes closet – change of season means sweaters and heavier clothes so clearing out stuff I don’t wear before I put it on the shelves/hang it up MAKES SENSE!!
2. Halloween is still just about as much fun to me as it was when I was a little girl.   I love seeing kids in costumes and having fun like I used to do.

3. Every October, I shop for chrysanthemums – for the yard AND for my front porch – it’s my own personal “tradition”.

4. My experience with the supernatural world is very interesting but not something I talk about with “just anyone” !

Thanks a bunch Mom.    I appreciate you being the STAR this week – maybe next week I’ll FILL-IN as best I can!    In the meantime, I’m going to do my best to stay out of your way today while you and Dad clean the house…………I’ll probably nap a whole lot – while you were gone I was ALLLLLLLLLLL alone and “on guard” for the whole night – I’m SLEEPY!!!!

…..ZZZZZZZZZZ…….

  1. I really need to begin changing out warm weather clothing for cooler conditions but that’s so darn hard with our temps still being nearly summer like some days. This will soon change, though. I used to buy autumn mums for the front porch but they haven’t done too well in the last couple of years so I don’t think I’ll buy any this time. I do love fall blooms! Nice fill-ins. Have a good weekend!

    • It’s such a strange Fall so far……..hot/cold makes it tough to change out clothes like we’re all USED to doing. The leaves are changing but the weather isn’t!!! Happy Friday!

      Hugs, Pam and Teddy too

  2. What would MAKE SENSE is if Ma Nature actually realized that the seasons are supposed to have changed by now! I should not be running my air conditioner in October! Let’s have that cooler weather right now!

  3. Yes, I am purging things, again, too. Physically and emotionally, too. It is good to focus on the fun of the season. Too many over-do it with the horror. *shudder* Let’s just have fun! I LOVE MUMS! In fact, I just added several, too! I love the way they survive well into fall, often until the hard frost. I am curious about your supernatural experiences, but totally understand. Hugs!

    • Mums will “over winter” here……I think we might be on the edge of the too frosty to survive area of the USA – I can cut mine back to the ground after they bloom and they will come back in Spring. NICE!! My supernatural experiences aren’t really spectacular…..mostly “soft” in nature but they happen and are too “different” to just brush off as coincidental. Maybe one day I’ll “spill” about them!!

      Hugs and Happy Friday..

  5. Ho Hey! I like the bright red color… 🙂 Purple is good too… Ha! It has not felt much like October in our bit of country and September had no fall to it either. It is like we are not going to have a fall. I want some cool crisp weather but it doesn’t look like that will happen until next week… maybe. I am a mum killer so no mums on the Tiny Ten. Teddy that tummy begs being raspberried… wonder how that would go?

    • Well, speaking from experience, there would be some bunny kicking and possible claws involved in a raspberry OR snorgle of that ever-so-tempting tummy! However, he KNOWS that’s what happens when he rolls over on his back so I think it’s a game with him – “c’mon – snorgle away – I double dog dare ya!!!!”…….hahaha

  6. Teddy, I sleep just like you. I like to let it all hang out. Your mom has probably seen pictures of my tummy on Facebook. Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend. We hope mom will bring us home some turkey. Have a great weekend. ~Calvin~

    • HAPPY CANADIAN THANKSGIVING GUYS!!!!! Hope you DO get some turkey – I’ve never had it before but I’m certainly willing to give it a try. I’ve heard rumors that Mom and Dad are going back to the mountains for turkey day but Mom says she ALWAYS brings home lots of leftovers so I’m gonna give it a whirl!

  7. Thank you to your mom for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I will try to do more cat friendly ones for you next week 🙂 I love how you decorate your porch with mums. We usually get one pot of them because my hubby thinks their season is too short and doesn’t want to spend the money on more than that. I can’t wait to see Teddy’s first Halloween pumpkin this year. And Teddy, I want to snorgle that tummy. XO

    • Hi Aunt Ellen…..! I don’t think Mom and Dad’s “Teddy-punkin” will look much different than the almost 17 years of Sammy ones…..they seem to have one design and that’s it! Maybe I can influence them in some way…..???? Mums are super duper cheap here…..and everyone seems to load up on them – plus where we are, they “over-winter” in the ground and come back in the Spring (most of them anyway).

      Love and Happy Friday,

  8. I hope that you get a good, long nap, Teddy. 🙂

I hope that your daddy had a happy birthday and they they enjoyed the celebration.

I agree with your #1. It does make perfect sense. We don’t have to do the clothes changing with the seasons thing here. It rarely, if ever, changes. I wear the same things all year long, including my sandals.

    Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

      • You are so blessed to have all four seasons! It is 86 here right now according to the weather guesser at just before 3pm. And guess what? Leaves are actually falling from the trees! That doesn’t usually happen here until around March or so…the new leaves push out the old ones. Some of these leaves are yellow and red instead of green…another thing I’ve never seen here in this yard before this year. I’m getting almost hopeful that we’ll get a real fall this year. 🙂
        Have a blessed weekend!

        • Oh boy! A real Fall – wouldn’t that be fun since you’re not used to that? I think our leaves are waiting for a nice COLD snap to fall. They have turned color – or a lot of them have anyway – they’re just waiting for an EXCUSE to pop off the trees!!!!!

          • Hi Teddy,

We grew up with a Fall in South Carolina. It is just since we’ve lived in Texas these last 13 years that we’ve been deprived of such a beautiful season. It is always summer here, or nearly always. When do you think you’ll get a cold snap? When does it usually happen there?

            Have a blessed day. 🙂

          • It has usually happened here already! We’re behind a bit – should be having highs in upper 60s/low 70s……..instead today we were at 85. We’re SO ready and so are the leaves which are turning like crazy but somehow it seems wrong to see golds, oranges, reds, yellows with summer weather!!!!!!

            Hugs, Teddy

          • I can understand that would be confusing. I have found yellow and red leaves in our backyard now and they are beautiful. That has never happened since we’ve lived in this house. They are so beautiful! AND today it is in the 60s…a definite rarity for October in Gulf Coast Texas. We have a North wind blowing a cold front at us and it is great!
It sounds like our weather has swapped places on us, doesn’t it? haha
            Have a blessed day!

  9. LOL Teddy you look VERY relaxed!!!!
Pam I too like to do ‘Autumn cleaning’. Go thru the dresser & closet & sort thru what is too old to wear; what doesn’t fit & put away summer clothes & bring out warmer clothes for Autumn/Winter. Mind you, with P SH so ill I haven’t done a thing yet….

  10. We enjoyed your Fill Ins. We’re glad mums are so accessible for you. I bought a few this year because they are so pretty. I’m going to try planting them to see what happens. We’ll find out next spring. It’s been cold here for over a month. We have had the heat on since last week in October. I could have used the extra warm days you have had. I wasn’t ready for the gloomiest late summer fall ever.

  11. Suzanne and I have yet to have our first trick or treater. Just before we got married, we sat on the steps at our new house, before we moved in with loads of candy. We were well known in the town. Yet, not one trick or treater. Every year the same thing. Finally, we gave up and we play not at home now and eat candy. Have a blessed week.

    • WOW……well, I will say that there aren’t NEARLY as many trick or treaters in our neighborhood NOW as there were when we first moved here 21 years ago……but we still have them – we have a super long driveway and it goes uphill and we think that discourages a lot of them! HAHAHAHA

      Hugs, Teddy and Mom too

  12. Mom likes to do that closet cleaning now too, and bring out the warmer clothes. But we can’t seem to send summer out the door yet:) Happy weekend.

  14. Teddy, you and the Coop are definitely two gingersnaps in the cookie jar! Uh-oh, Mom just realized she hasn’t even thought about a costume for Cooper Murphy for the Scout party. Don’t forget to post some porch mix after those chrysanthemums are purchased! Mom also enjoys seeing little ones in the Halloween costumes.
