Friendly Friday Fill-Ins

Standard

Hello Everyone!  Time to Fill-In!

Friday’s favorite activity is the Friendly Fill-Ins Blog Hop which is co-hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffys’ Reader!  Are you a HOPPER with us?  If not, why not join in?   You can click on the badge above which will take you to McGuffy’s and you can use the LINKY tool to enter your blog link and VOILA – you’re hopping along with us!

Each week each blog gives us two sentences with blanks to fill – it’s FUN hopping around and seeing what everyone else has said.    This week Mom said I can give it a whirl and try to answer them ALL BY MYSELF!   Usually SHE does it…………let’s see how I do.   My “fill-ins” are in RED.

1. September bucket list: 1. Jump in the leaf piles Mom and Dad rake up! 2. Snoopervise Mom’s Fall mum planting – she digs the nicest holes for me!

2. If I came with a warning label, it would say “Beware of this cat’s love of eating crickets, chasing lizards, and thinking skunks are pretty kitty cats”

3. Truth be told,  I am so happy my Mom and Dad adopted me – I am truly “living the life” !!  Angel Sammy was right – this place ROCKS!.

4. I would rather eat dry food  than  wet food even though Mom WANTS me to eat wet stuff

There Mom!  How did I do?    Do I get an “A” for my fill-ins?    I hope so…………..I sure tried not to embarrass myself or you and Dad!

Yesterday we received a couple of cool badges from Ann at Zoolatry  – you may have seen them too but just in case, here they are.  One is a reminder of a COOLIO day that we celebrate every year – PIRATE DAY – and the other is a reminder that all those in the path of the powerful hurricane Irma need our prayers and any help we can give them…………

We hope and pray everyone in the path of this storm will be SAFE!

This will be my very first TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY……..I can’t wait!

Arrrrrrgh……

How did that sound?   Did I sound scary and “pirate-like”?

My Angel brother Sammy………………he made a swell pirate didn’t he?

P.S.   Today is my Mom and Dad’s 27th anniversary…….Concatulations Mom and Dad!

  1. Wow! Concatulations to your Mom and Dad, Teddy!

Your fill ins were great to read.
I sure am purring hard for the nasty furious Irma to go away. Safety too, for all affected.

I have tried to be a pirate for a few times…ahoy! My name as a pirate is Captain Pipofang; Pirate-Mastercat…

    • Love your Pirate Name! HAHAHA We’re all hoping like crazy that Irma at the very least will run out of steam before she hits Florida…….storms have a mind of their own though……we’ll just have to keep all those effected in our hearts and hope and pray for the best!

    3. Truth be told… I have a brand new great niece and we just got back from seeing her!
    4. I would rather hang out at home under the Oaks than go grocery shopping… or any kind of shopping.

      • I am not afraid of a little bit of snoopervising out in the yard and I am becoming quite the little hole digger too. Mom thinks I must have had a dog to watch when it came to technique because I can dig a big hole in a SHORT time!

    • Hi Miss Pix! I hope you don’t lose your mind but jury duty might just cause that to happen….HAHA….Mom has been called before but not made it through the selection process (YAY) – GOOD LUCK! Concatulations on the new great niece – I bet she’s ADORABLES – human babies are cute I think even though kittens are CUTER. I have promised to stay away from the skunks now that Mom has explained them to me. Honest!

  7. Happy Anniversary to you! That’s just wonderful. I laughed at your fill-in’s Teddy! Hello dearest, please be safe in this hurricane. They have reported a lot about it’s path on our news. The weather has been just devestating. I’m actually taking time off of work because I’m a tad burn’t out. I hope to visit frequently too. I miss you! xo Hugs Boomdee

    • Hi Boomdee!! Thanks for the anniversary wishes. We had a great “dress up” dinner at a favorite restaurant. We should be OK with the hurricane unless it makes a turn EASTWARD which right now it’s not predicted to do. BUT hurricanes are very unpredictable so who knows. We are certainly praying for our Florida friends and family though. You REST UP….you mustn’t get burned out dear girl – keep that creative brain of yours bubbling along – maybe with some FUN projects at home and away from work – time for a little TIME OFF!!!

Love and Big Hugs from ME and Teddy too!

  8. I will be planting mums this weekend, too. I love them! Last Summer, Stella became friends with a couple of young skunks. She is black & white, so…? It was weird. They would get into the yard, and I would let her out. I found her standing near them several times. *yikes* The only one here who gets wet food is Chloe Jo, and she eats dry, too. They all get vet diets. Health is everything. And, Moms know better than furkids do! *wink* HUGS!

    • Teddy really was very curious about the skunk……we were about 20 feet away from it and Teddy’s tail got all bushy and he was really pulling HARD on the leash. I picked him up and we came inside – didn’t want to take any chances!!! We RARELY see them during daylight hours. When Sammy was with me we’d go for morning walks in the dark and OFTEN saw skunks but they would keep their distance.

      Happy Weekend!

        • That’s what I thought too……but I found this online yesterday when I was wondering about this same thing!

It’s a common myth that a skunk seen during the day is sick or has rabies. It’s true that skunks are mostly nocturnal, but they might be out during the day for many different reasons.

A skunk that is alert, responsive and behaving normally during the day is probably fine. Skunks might come out during the day if there is a food source available at a particular time, if they have been frightened out of their daytime sleeping spot, or if there is high competition in the area at night from other nocturnal animals. Baby skunks are also commonly seen outside during the day.

The one I saw was an adult but it’s possible it was digging for food in order to avoid other nocturnal animals – we have groundhogs, opossums, raccoons, deer – it may have been disturbed from its’ “hole” too. Hard to say but we didn’t take any chances! I picked Ted up and we came into the front yard and let Mr. or Ms. Skunk have the Woods!!

  9. Hello Teddy, great Fill Ins this week. You did great. Jasmine hunts for mice in the leaves and boys, Bear and Sammy like to dig the leaves and spread them around. Your Moms mum garden sounds so pretty. I just bought one mum planter to sit on the steps. They’re expensive here.
HaPpY AnNiVeRsArY to Mom and Dad. They sure look cute together. Hope it’s a beautiful day for them. Autumn weddings are beautiful. Here’s to 87 more AnNiVeRsArYs for your Mom and Dad. ❤️

    • Thank you for the anniversary wishes for my Mom and Dad……they always laugh about only being married 27 years but if they had met each other back when they each married someone ELSE all those years ago, this year they probably would be celebrating their 50th anniversary!! Things work out the way they’re supposed to though right? Mums are cheap around here……..AND they also are perennial in Virginia so most of what Mom plants come back again.

      Happy weekend!
