Saturday means bacon right?

Indeed it does……………and I’m just the guy to provide it to my loyal subjects!   What kind of King would I be if I didn’t?   I have a couple of NEW things to show you but then anything bacon NEVER gets “old” right?

I told our castle cook to get plenty of bacon ready to fry up for us!

Which he did!  Then he told me about a few new recipes he was trying out…..

Bacon and cheese stuffed dates

Bacon and cheese potato skins

Cute little puff pastry bacon dessert bites

I told him to add all of the above to our menus in the future…………..even those dates – I never had a date but I’m game for anything that’s been baconized!   How about you??

Yep – that’s me for sure………..sorry about that!

  1. Have you ever tried rumaki? Since tiki culture is back, this is purrfect and easy. For hungry kitties or humans multiply recipe as needed. Preheat oven to 400°. Lay 4 slices of bacon on a cookie sheet and bake until cooked but not crisp, about 10 minutes. Remove pan from oven and drain off any fat, then blot bacon and pan with paper towels.
    Place 1 water chestnut in the middle of each piece of bacon, then top each with half a chicken liver. Sprinkle soy sauce, a pinch of freshly grated ginger, and a pinch of brown sugar on top of each liver. Wrap bacon around water chestnuts and livers and secure with a skewer. Return pan to oven and bake until bacon is crisp and golden..

    • OH Miss Layla, my Mom loves rumaki but hasn’t made it in a while – it’s so delicious and I have a feeling if I got her to make it, I might get some liver!!!!!!! Thanks for reminding her – I have a feeling it’s on her radar to make SOON! We sending you big HUGS and hope that you’re feeling better!

  2. Hey Teddy no bacon here since the peeps went away to another city for lunch but they did have shrimp and oysters on a sandwich called a PeaceKeeper at The Broiler in Kinston

    • Oh Madi we read about that on your blog and BOY OH BOY that was right up my Mom’s “alley”……when she and my Dad visit Maine they will be eating like that the whole time!

  3. Happy bacon day, Teddy! I sometimes make cheese and bacon potato skins when we have friends around for drinks and nibbles of an evening. Summer is more barbecues but with winter coming I’ll be making them again.

  4. Dear Bacon King Teddy and Angel Bacon King Sammy, I have not yet had the experience of eating bacon. Jo Jo and Kozmo tell me it is most wonderful and they would eat it every day..if Mommy or Daddy cooked it! Kozmo says they get it more at their Daddy’s house and they only get it at Mommy’s house when Daddy is visiting. As Daddy comes home from his vacation on Wednesday, we have asked Mommy of we can have bacon next Saturday!!! (She said YES!)
    I am quite looking forward to it!

    • Marv you will LOVE bacon……..It’s difficult to describe really – rather heavenly, very crunchy in the mouth, but most of all it’s just plain DELICIOUS! I can’t wait to hear what you have to say about it. It will be nice for you to meet Daddy too because you arrived when he was on vacation as I recall. Just think – even though you are enjoying your BIG FAMILY now that you’re adjusting, you will soon be there with just your Mommy and the whole house will be quiet again. I bet you miss them when they’re gone! Tee Hee

  5. Wow, Teddy, those are some great new recipes. Mom would happily eat any of those. The doggie cartoon was so funny! Sorry we got here so late. Mom stayed busy all day. Sending lots of love.     • Yesterday was a busy day – Scouts sailing adventure being one reason all Scout Moms were busy! We are always on the lookout for more bacon fun around here but seems tough to find new stuff! We may have to change Saturday to something other than BACON DAY…..EEEK!
