Let’s Do This!
Here we are again – arriving at a Friday which means Friendly Fill-Ins Blog Hop! This one is co-hosted by 15andmeowing AND McguffysReader. If you click the badge above you will go to McGuffy’s and you can use the LINKY tool to enter your blog post link and have some fun with us!
Here are the questions for today – two from each of our hosts! Mom gets the honor today – these are mostly “peopleized” questions so she’s the STAR today and her fill-ins are in RED.
1. A recurring dream I have is that I’m back in school (not sure if grade school or high school) and can’t remember WHERE my next class is!
2. Turn a rainy day into a day to catch up on reading or napping or getting in touch with old friends.
3. My small spot of poison ivy is driving me crazy!
4. Lately, I have been making more “light” meals because it’s been so hot .
Thanks Mom! I have to say that it’s PROBABLY my fault you got poison ivy – you’re always picking me up out in the yard when it’s time to come back inside on our walks and often I’ve been digging around in the leaves/greenery out there! Sorry about that……..
I’ve been hearing some rumors that Mom is going to desert me on Monday to visit her sister – my Auntie Carol and her two pups. One of her pups is Casey, and he’s just a baby – and quite small – and he’s able to get through the deck railings on Auntie Carol’s front deck which is where he and his brother Toby play! Not good – he will run run run run like a crazy boy if he gets loose. So Auntie Carol put one of those “blow up” collars on him like we have to wear after we’ve had a little “surgery” at the V.E.T./Stabby place. It works perfectly – he can’t get through the rails! Smart huh?
Sorry Casey Dood but you’re not gonna be escaping again with THAT thing on!!! Casey is an “Imperial Shih Tzu” which is a SMALL sized Shih Tzu…….his brother Toby is the black/white Shih Tzu behind him. Casey was almost BLACK until he had his first puppy cut – now he’s kind of taupe/gold/gray! Mom will get to see him Monday.
Tomorrow is Bacon Caturday………….hope you’re ready for that…………..I know I sure am………………..so is Angel Sammy – he still visits me every single night when I’m asleep teaching me things and telling me things to help me. I wish he was HERE for real but it’s not so bad having an Angel On My Shoulder either…….!!!
GIMME DAT!!
Love, Teddy
n°1 often happened to the mama as she was a girl.. she went home then, just to avoid that she will wander through the school house furever and ever….. the teachers called that truancy… how uncool ;o)

I think it must have happened to my Mom too – and other stuff like not remembering which bus to ride home or how to open a locker – either that or my Mom is worried she’s losing her mind which is an ABSOLUTE POSSIBILITY!!!!! HAHAHA

Aw, that’s too bad about your mom’s poison ivy, Teddy…. We sure hope it feels better soon! We know your mom is so excited about visiting her sister and seeing that cute baby Casey. Your Auntie Carol was pretty smart to think about putting that collar on him to prevent him from escaping!

I had amnesia, of sorts, while at college one day. I had been taking this English class all semester, but one day I went into the class and had absolutely no recollection of ever having been there before, what the assignments had been or anything at all. I remembered to go to the class and where it was, but absolutely nothing else. I was 18 years old. That really scared me.
ACK! You, too? Poison oak and poison ivy are no fun at all. I got into poison oak a couple of weeks back and it has finally dried up and, for the most part, the rash is gone. I think I read it lasts from 5-12 days. I hope that it leaves quickly for you!
Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

That’s wild about the amnesia…..that’s how it FEELS in my dreams – actually it’s been a while since I had one of those but I used to have them ALL THE TIME. I haven’t had poison oak or ivy in AGES…..this is an itty bitty spot on my upper arm which is where I carry Teddy in after we’ve been out so I think MAYBE I got it from him but who knows. I just need to be more careful because I HATE HATE HATE that rash!

I wonder what made you have those dreams? Was it a matter of insecurity over something?
I haven’t had poison oak or ivy since I was a kid, as far as I remember, until the bout I just had. I had this round along with mosquito and ant bites. When I was a kid, I had poison ike…ivy and oak mixed together. That was fun. haha I’m glad that you just have a little spot. Mine was pretty much contained to my lower right leg, with just a single blister here and there elsewhere. I rub my eyes a lot, thanks to allergies. I kept being afraid I was going to get poison oak in my eyes, too. Thankfully, I didn’t!
What did you have to wash Teddy with to get the oils off him so that he didn’t spread it around some more, just in case it was from him?
Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

From what I read regarding dream interpretation you are right – some kind of insecurity or indecision or frustration but since I haven’t had that particular dream in a while maybe whatever it was somehow resolved?!?! There were a lot of variations of that dream – all happening at school though. Interesting how many others have had the same dream. Fortunately the poison ivy is not bad and cortisone cream keeps the itching to a minimum. I just used a wet washcloth to wash Teddy’s paws when we come inside now from a walk – also trying to keep him AWAY from anything that even remotely LOOKS like poison ivy when we’re outside!

I hope that it means it was resolved, too. May you never have that dream or its variants again. 🙂
I’m glad the poison ivy isn’t bad. I used the clear calamine lotion on my poison oak and it seemed to help. I did my best not to scratch, too, but that was not so easy. 🙂 I hope that you and Teddy are able to avoid the icky stuff from this point forward.

Suz

I am glad we don’t get poison ivy here. I have heard it is very unpleasant. That was a brilliant idea to put the blow up collar on Casey.

Oh lucky you with no poison ivy – it’s EVERYWHERE here……..and we have the woods where most of it is located…….there are OTHER plants that look just like poison ivy and Mom is never sure (nor am I!!!!!) if it’s THAT or something else. It is unpleasant but this is just a tiny spot so she’s lucky this time!

OH that school dream. Strangely mine always happens in my elementary school, but I am a high schooler. I can’t find the classroom..when I happen on it, I can’t find my desk…my books are gone from under the seat when I guess which desk is mine. No assignments were done, and there’s a TEST today! Sometimes I have the “can’t make my feet hardly move” dream about trying to get me to the school where I have this trouble. Aye Aye Aye.

My Mom’s school dream is way more complicated (sometimes) than what I said in the fill-ins too! Sometimes she can’t find her locker and when she does can’t remember the combination…..or she didn’t do her homework….OR she’s forgotten her books at home……..OR when it’s time to go home she goes out to get on the bus and forgets which one is hers……The “Can’t hardly make my feet move” one is another of her least favorite dreams….Katie I think our Moms need to RELAX and not be worried don’t you????

Well the collar sure solved the problem! Casey is a cutie…Mom will take (with my permission) a new toy to him Monday. As for her poison ivy – it’s just an itty bitty spot but it’s on the arm where my paws rest when she’s carrying me after our walks so she’s PROBABLY right – I DID IT!

You are such a cutie Teddy, I like the photo of you batting at the string. Cute puppies, that was a very clever way to contain him. Thanks to your Mom for these great fill-in answers. That is funny that she still has the school dream. Her answer to #2 is perfect. And I am sorry she has poison ivy, that is so darn itchy. I hope she has fun visiting with the puppies, I am sure she will miss you though. XO

Mom’s poison ivy is so minor compared to how awful most people get it – we’re pretty sure it was from my paws or fur because it’s on her arm where she would hold me when she’s bringing me inside. It’s such a small area and she’s careful not to spread it….Mom says her school dream is more complicated than the little bit about it she put in the Fill-Ins but she didn’t want to write a short story – just fill in (HAHAHAHA).
Happy Friday!

Well since Mom and Dad adopted me from the shelter at 11 months old they don’t know (and I don’t remember!) WHERE I was before that or whether I had been around a dog. I do know that when I hear the dog next door barking I’m not too crazy about the noise! Somehow I think little dogs like my shih Tzu cousins wouldn’t scare me – we’re about the same size. HAHA I didn’t get any kind of rash on my skin from the poison ivy but I guess the “oil” got on my fur and that’s all it took for Mom to get it. I’m gonna be more careful from now on!

I think I might get along with a dog but not really sure…..we have two barky beagles on one side of our yard and one barky schnauzer on the other and they all LOVE to bark at poor me when I’m out for a stroll with my Mom. I get a little scared but Mom reassures me.

I have had that feeling. Once in college at USC, I forgot my entire schedule. I had to find the paper with it on it. This was late in the semester. Lucky for me, all my classes were in the same room that year.

That blow up collar is genius on Casey. Some people in my complex put chicken wire on their balconies to protect their tiny doggies. Trust me. The collar looks much cuter!

We thought so too…….Auntie Carol didn’t want to put up chicken wire – her deck is in FRONT of her house by the front door and she didn’t think it was a good “look” for her entryway! LOL

I have that school dream, only it’s college… and I either don’t know where I’m supposed to go next, or there’s a big assignment/test and I have no idea what’s going to be on it. I chalk it up to my brain knowing I shouldn’t be back in school in the first place… so I need to quit dreaming about it!

I looked it up online this morning – that dream can mean a bunch of stuff but it’s all related to experiencing some frustration in life or being insecure or having a tough time making a decision…..it’s amazing to me how many people have said they have this same sort of dream though so maybe we are ALL just a little “concerned” about life…..which isn’t surprising considering the way things are in the world!!!!

Funny thing about changing color…..for cats, most of us just get more “intense” coloring – stripes that are more CLEAR or spots that get darker…..at least that’s what happened to me!!!!

Yuck to the poison ivy. Do you know that the mom is still unsure what poison ivy looks like? She’s googled it and has seen pictures but when she’s outside, she’s just not sure if a plant is poison ivy or not.

I know how your Mom feels! Same here – I just try to avoid anything that has three leaves…..but even that isn’t foolproof! Thankfully it’s not bad – just a few little spots and I’m NOT scratching – using cortisone cream.

Your #1 – I have that same dream, too! I wonder what it means…

I noticed several people had versions of that dream – I’ve always thought it might have something to do with feeling insecure or out of place or vulnerable or……maybe confused about something ELSE going on in my life. I haven’t had this dream for a couple of years now but used to have it ALL THE TIME so maybe my life has settled down since then??? I hope!!!! HAHA

Hopefully Casey will grow a LITTLE BIT MORE so he won’t have to wear the collar on the deck out front much longer…….he’s an Imperial Shih Tzu which is a smaller version of an already small breed of dog so who knows! LOL Also, he has options because Auntie Carol has a screened porch off her kitchen so he can get fresh air out THERE or out in the back yard which is fenced – he just likes the sunshine in the front deck. Smart boy!
