Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Standard

Hello All!  It’s “combo day”!

We are joining Brian’s Blog Hop to talk about being very Thankful (which we are) and also having our Thoroughly Poetic Thursday feature as well……….busy busy right?

This week I’m thankful for several interesting things – one thing is the subject of my Poetic Thursday – I won a trophy at Cat Scouts for my Derby car this year…….I was just so excited – after all, I was just barely one when I got the trophy…..imagine that.    I’m also thankful for my Mom and Dad being so patient with me as I learn about harness/leash walking.   I am a slightly rambunctious kid and only when Mom got a “jacket/vest” type harness could she really control me – I was able to squirm out of the old harness Angel Sammy had.   Mom says I’m like a greased pig (no offense Bacon!).    If you want to join Brian’s blog hop, just click on the badge below……..I know he’d love for you to share what you are thankful for – we all would!!

Now let’s talk POETRY!     This week our letter is “W” and as always, my big brother Angel Sammy “transmitted” his poem to me via – BRIDGE-O-GRAM yesterday morning so I’d be able to put it on today’s blog.   Angel Sammy is super busy at the Bridge but has time to continue with the poetry – it was his idea for the blog and we’re on our SECOND go-round through the alphabet.   If you’d like to join in, just post your poem in our comments here OR post your blog link so we can follow it and read your POEM at your blog!!!

“W”

“Win”

By Angel Sammy Kimmell, 5/18/17

My little brother Teddy

Proved amply that he was ready

For Scouts Cardwood Derby racing

A fast field of Scouts he’d be facing.

His “Teddy’s Moo Juice Truck”

Was fast and had good luck!

With help from friends like you

His votes were WAY MORE than “few” !

He placed in more than one category

With a big boy smile he basked in winners’ glory!

Dad put the trophy on the mantel over the fireplace…..

Waiting for another one to join it at the next Cat Scouts Derby race!!!!!

Thank you big brother Sammy for writing a poem about ME…………you make me feel like a BIG BOY !!!!!

The best part is that my big brother, Angel Sammy told me in a dream last night that he was EVER so proud of me – I already knew Mom and Dad were proud of me – after all, they helped me build the car I drove in the Derby – but hearing Angel Sammy tell me HE was proud – well – that’s the BEST!

I can’t wait for next year!   The only requirement for the Derby entry is that it be made out of cardboard – and we kitties love boxes – it’s a good combination!

See you tomorrow my friends!

Interested in joining Cat Scouts?   It’s tons of fun!   CLICK HERE    Tell them Teddy and Angel Sammy sent you!!!

  2. Teddy, Sammy wrote you a terrific poem. Of course, he is proud of you. Following in his paw steps at Scouts is a big deal, and you are handling yourself beautifully…already a dedicated and busy Scout. We love Thursday and seeing everyone’s creativity. Here’s the link to our poem. http://thecatonmyhead.com/?p=25491

    • Sadly no……the awards were given well after the race and the racing togs were packed away until next year and there were no lovely lady cats there to do the smoochie thing like humans get when they win a race either! Too bad huh? But maybe I’m too young to get into all that……notice I said MAYBE.
