Filling In Sentences on Cinco De Mayo!!
We are happy to join the Blog Hop every Friday known as Friendly Fill-Ins which is co-hosted by 15andMeowing and McGuffy’s Reader. It’s a favorite Hop of ours and if you would like to join in the fun and fill in some sentences they have challenged us with, please do! Just click on the below badge to visit McGuffy’s Reader and use the LINKY tool and you’re IN!
This week’s sentences are below and Angel Sammy and I are feeling generous again today and thought we’d let GOOD OLD MOM fill in the blanks…………she needs something to do to keep her out of trouble (hahaha). Mom’s fill-ins are in RED!
1. We still have a landline.
2.My most treasured piece of jewelry is actually SEVERAL pieces of jewelry: My Mom’s wedding ring, my grandmother’s pearl earrings, and my OWN wedding ring that my husband David gave me.
3. This year, I have learned that the old saying “you’re not getting older, you’re getting better” is VERY VERY TRUE! I’m loving life more now than ever before.

Senor Angel Sammy

Senor Teddy
Don’t you just love Senor Sammy’s hat? It’s a crazy hat he wore at a Cat Scouts Cinco De Mayo party when they had a “sombrero decorating contest”……pretty wacky huh? On the other hand I look ADORABLE right? Although not many one year old kittens have a moustache I suppose!

We could do a Mexican hat dance !!!!

We can smack a piñata with a stick and see what treasure pop out of it!
We can also enjoy some of the wonderful foodables that are traditional – here are some breakfast things AND some lunch/dinner things so take your pick – eat and drink to your hearts content then you can say you “DID” Cinco de Mayo with us today!!!
What a PAR-TAY! Thanks for coming by…………….it wouldn’t have been the same without you……………….!
What a pawrtay is right!!! MOL!
Dance on! Mariachi and pole dancing and so many others…cha-cha-cha! How about the cucaracha?
Have fun!
We are taking a break to chow down and to guzzle some fine bottled refreshment. Catnip wine and nip laced booze…wait, you have that there Teddy??? MOL!

Wait a minute… are you implying that having a landline is an old fuddy duddy thing? Don’t make me get my record player out to drown out my sorrows with music…
I do hope there are some Mexican bacon dishes for you to enjoy for the occasion. You know, two years of Spanish classes, and I never did learn what the Spanish word for bacon was….

Angel Kyla used to love Cinco de Mayo-she was born in Guadalajara.

Oh indeed she would be a Cinco fan since she was born there. It’s a fun occasion and I think a lot of people forget what the celebration is all about really. Like a lot of holidays the focus is on the party and not the reason!

Not only do we still have a landline…mom still uses a flip phone…stop laughing we have no contract now and only add minutes when it runs out.
I once told Bryan if someone tried to take my wedding rings I’d swallow them…before I gave them to a thief.

We totally think LESS IS MORE (or PLENTY) and don’t intend to be hooked up to cell phones/smart phones around here. So much time away from LIVING and Mom and Dad just won’t do that. YAY!

Happy Cinco de Meow! Our peeps still have a landline but it doesn’t work anymore since the dad-guy “accidently” cut the phone line in the house when the peeps were doing some home repairs. When they called Comcast to just cancel the line, they found out it would be cheaper just to keep it than to get rid of it. Go figure!

HAHAHA on the landline “accident”……..my Mom and Dad RARELY use their cells. Mom’s is buried in the bottom of her purse for emergencies (maybe once a year!) and Dad’s is in his car for the same purpose (maybe once a year). Dad worked for the phone company until retirement so he probably feels BONDED with the landline (hahahahahaha).

I hope that you’ll be able to take the vacation that you’d like to take this year.
This is definitely an interesting stage of life. My mind and heart are both having a hard time settling anywhere. It is weird not having children at home after having them around non-stop since 1986, and now with no more kitties. That is going to take awhile to get used to. I will adjust eventually, but it just feels weird. I can’t think of any other way to describe it.
Senor Angel Sammy and Senor Teddy are adorable in their sombreros. 🙂
Have a blessed weekend!

Adjusting through most stages of our lives can be a real challenge……I remember when I was first “on my own” after school and having to WORK for a living (!) – an adjustment – then the dating stuff (wow was that an adjustment!), and all the other things since then with the changes they all brought. It’s what we do though – adjust. If we don’t, we go off the rails – humans are amazingly flexible most of the time though and even though some of the changes are TOUGHER than others – we do it. I never had children but I always had cats and I can’t imagine NOT having one in my life – I know they are my “surrogate” children because I didn’t have any but having pets rounds our my life so nicely. I hope that your adjustments happen sooner rather than later (!!!!).

Yeah, that whole having to work thing is a big adjustment!
I’ve had a cat in my life since I was a teenager. Before that, my family had dogs off and on. I thought that I was doing okay progressing with this whole empty nest thing, then our Marine has to go and get married. So, now I have to work that into the adjustment schedule. 🙂 It will happen, just we’re having some growing pains right now.
I think that Heavenly Father sent me this yard full of birds to help me during this transition. I am glad that he gave you your furbabies. 🙂
Have a blessed weekend. Hugs, Suz

A very festive 5 de mayo fiesta! Bacon = tocino. The “tied up” delicacy is TAMALES, not tortillas which are round flat wraps (either made of corn or flour) which are used for burritos or tacos. I enjoy your blog because you guys look like my angel, El Dorado.
