Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Thankful Thursday Hop With Brian

Joining up with Brian’s Thankful Thursday hop – and you can too if you click on the badge above, use the LINKY tool and put your blog link in.   We have a whole lot to be thankful for including all our wonderful friends………and it makes us remember not only are we lucky to have the friends we have NOW, but we were lucky to know some of the friends we have had who are no longer with us.   Most notably, the last two friends of ours who are now gone – Angel Nellie and Angel Flynn.   We miss both of them more than we are able to express.

Today we also celebrate Angel Sammy’s “Thoroughly Poetic Thursday” with a poem celebrating the letter “U”!   If you have a poem to share, you can write it in our COMMENTS or you can give us your blog link where we can find your own fabulous poem for “U” !

By Angel Sammy Kimmell, May 4, 2017

Up and away the breeze will blow

Into the beyond where Angels go

Clouds awaiting up above

To carry the Angels in arms of love

Up is where we look to say our prayers

Our grief washes over us in darkest layers

But the light up above is bright and clear

Those who have gone are always near

Up and away one day we will fly

To join our sweet loved ones in the blink of an eye.

In honor of my friends……….(these are from Angel Sammy with Mom’s help)

Teddy here…………… turn to say a little something.    I’m the new kid on the block but in my short time here I’ve not only learned a LOT about my Angel brother Sammy, but about all of his friends who are now MY friends.    Having both Flynn and Nellie leave so soon after I got to know and love them has been hard!    They were both such special members of our “family” in this community of blogging and I’m a little young and inexperienced in these things but I feel this heavy sadness in my heart – like my Mom says she has in hers.    We’ve tried to honor both Nellie and Flynn in our blog at their passing but words just don’t seem to come to express adequately how we feel.    I think my Mom is still struggling with losing Sammy and I know I have BIG PAWS to fill in regard to that believe me!

Anyway, we just want to say that we love all of you – and we love all of those who have gone before – and we know that they are with us every minute of every day but the heartache is sort of always there……..I’m learning fast how to love AND how to let go – it’s a lot for a little guy you know???

I love you all like I love my mousie!

Hugs, Teddy

  1. Lovely tribute and poem, Teddy. Yes it is hard. Always will be, and somehow while its hard when you just thought you were getting to know someone, its even harder the longer you know and love them.

    Sending big hugs and purrs.

  2. Teddy, loss is a part of life, but it is never easy. I came to live in a house that was suffering loss, and I had to deal with that even before I settled in. I think it just made me appreciate every moment a little bit more, even though I was still a kitten.

    • Hi Summer! Same here on coming to live in a house that was in mourning but I did my bestest to bring “HAPPY” back and Mom and Dad say that I did that and more. My “work” is only just beginning but I’m gonna like it!

      Hugs, eddy

  3. Dear little Teddy oh my cats your U poem was very uplifting to our spirits as we have had a very heavy heart with all the friends leaving too. I sure do wish someone put up a NO Vacancy sign at the rainbow bridge. We used to hear bad things happened in 3’s but I’m here to tell you we are way passed 3!

Lots of kitty kisses and Mom hugs our U poem is at

    • Oh Madi I love your “U” poem and I also loved your “Thankful Thursday” message too…….we have a lot of “sads” with the Bridge crossings lately but we still have so much be thankful for! Thanks for pawticipating in Poetry Thursdays with us!

      Love, Teddy

  4. That was a great “U” poem! We are so sad that Flynn had to go to the Bridge. He put up a good fight to stay here. We’re sure there was a grand reunion of Eric, Flynn, Sammy and Nellie.

    • Oh I bet there was a nice reunion but I also know that wherever they had THAT party – it was PACKED! So many of our family and friends are at the Bridge – so much love there and we know they visit us and bring us lots of Angel Dust so we know they remember us too!

      Hugs, Teddy

  5. That is a wonderful poem Angle Sammy and Teddy, you did a nice job expressing your feelings too. We never forget those we love so Nellie, Flynn and your big brother, Sammy will never be forgotten. Love to you and your Mom too! XO

    • Thank you!!! Angel Sammy did a nice poem for the occasion I agree. I’m learning that part of loving is letting go – that’s a lesson that’s kinda hard to learn when you’re just a kid but I guess it’s important. In the blogosphere with pets, someone is leaving their life behind and dashing off to the Bridge so often. Sadly the more blogs we follow, the more losses we see. Anyay, Happy Thursday!!!!

      Love, Teddy

  6. The poem is total purrfection as is the entire post. We decided to wait to do more for Flynn later as we thought our post was already jammed with stuff. Teddy is becoming a very wise young man. If anyone wants to see our poem, it is at

    • Thanks for the kudos on the post….and Angel Sammy’s poem. Even though he’s not around all that much anymore, Angel Sammy makes sure he gets his messages sprinkled around the blog – he particularly wanted to do something with regard to Nellie and Flynn. We have so many “double blog” posts anymore that we didn’t want to wait for a “singular” day and just went ahead to do this additional post today. We LOVED your poem today – just LOVED it AND the photo of Mau in his costume!!!! Sending tons of hugs……..

      Love, Teddy and Mom 2

  7. What a beautiful, heart warming tribute to those that have gone before. Yes, we lost 3 dear pals and will always miss them. We’re thankful that you mom and dad gotted you after Sammy flew away to the bridge. I know they still miss Sammy terribly, but you are new and someone they have to take care of the love too – it’s keeps them busy with not as much time to sit around and think. You are doing good pal!

    • Thank you Miss Caren!! Mom takes photos of me when she remembers which, considering how distracted she is with blogs, Cat Scouts, LIFE, is kind of “up and down” !!!!

      Hugs, Teddy

      Love and Teddy hugs

    • Hello Woos! Awwww thanks for the compliment on the poem and messages…..we all have Angels that we will forever miss but they ARE with us if we just sit still and “listen” !!

      Hugs, Teddy

  9. Angel Sammy your poem is very sweet, touches the heart. And a beautiful tribute today to Flynn and Nellie. Kitties that were so loved. And Teddy, such beautiful and wise words for a little guy. You said it better than I could have. You are doing a great job Teddy… we all love you and your Angel Brother… forever!

    • Thank you Miss Pix…..I wanted to honor the beautiful friendship my brother Angel Sammy had with Queen Nellie and dear Flynn……I am understanding that while our friends leave us, they can always be with us in our hearts. I’m glad you liked Angel Sammy’s poem…..he’s still writing up there in the clouds!

      Love and Hugs, Teddy

  10. Your poem is lovely, Angel Sammy. Thank you for the beautiful tribute. I hope Flynn has started up a mousie hunting expedition in those rainbow meadows.

    • Miss Jackie I’m sure that Flynn and his brother Eric are having classes on mouse catching by now – they certainly are EXPERTS in hunting! We hope that your hearts are healing knowing that Flynn is at peace and also that he is with you always and forever.

      Love, Teddy (and Pam)—–

  11. We are SO late to comment on this post, but Motor Mommy says that is one of the most heartfelt, touching poems she’s ever read. Great job (Pam).
It is so sad to lose such special friends, and they do stay with us in our heart.
    Love, Sundae (and Mom)

    • Thank you…….we love the blogosphere and the world of pet blogs but knowing SO many wonderful pets/people means we have partings more frequently than if we weren’t here……but it’s so worth it to meet and come to love so many caring people – it’s just so very hard to say goodbye to them when it’s their time.

      Hugs, Pam and Teddy too
