Click Badge to Visit Them!!

(Mom did another Lunapic photo effect on me!)

Now that you’ve seen Teddy – let’s Shop!

This is the Hop that’s usually hosted by Bacon at Pig Love but he’s been “sharing the hosting” with the Shopping Hop for a while now and this month, Shoko and Kali of Canadian Cats are hosts.   They challenged us to come up with a seafood recipe of any kind!   Share the ingredients and the costs then visit everyone else to compare prices of things – it’s super interesting AND you get some good recipes too!

This is a delicious recipe for “Crunchy Crab Cakes”………….Mom leaves out the pimiento but that’s just HER.   She says she can’t taste them anyway so why add them???    HAHAHA

  • 1 (16-oz.) package fresh lump crabmeat, drained   (8oz. CLAW meat $4.97)
  • 4 large lemons, divided   (69 cents each)
  • 1 (4-oz.) jar diced pimiento, well drained
  • 2 green onions, chopped  (79 cents a bunch)
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten – on hand
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise – on hand
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning – (3 oz. $3.00)
  • 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard (9 oz. $2.69)
  • 1 cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs), divided (8  oz. $1.99)
  • 1/4 cup canola oil – on hand

How to Make It

  1. Pick crabmeat, removing any bits of shell.

  2. Grate zest from 2 lemons to equal 2 tsp.; cut lemons in half, and squeeze juice into a measuring cup to equal 1/4 cup. Stir together lemon zest and juice, pimiento (unless you’re my Mom and then you don’t add it!), and next 5 ingredients until well blended. Gently fold in crabmeat and 1/2 cup breadcrumbs.

  3. Shape mixture into 8 patties. Dredge patties in remaining 1/2 cup breadcrumbs.

  4. Cook half of patties, in 2 Tbsp. hot oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, 2 minutes on each side or until golden brown; drain on a wire rack. Repeat procedure with remaining oil and patties.

  5. Cut remaining 2 lemons into wedges. Serve crab cakes with lemon wedges.

TALK ABOUT YUMMY???    And I get a bit of crab meat all for myself too!

Happy Sunday!!!!  Love, Teddy

Bacon Boy!

OH BOY!  My favorite day of the week!

I hereby decree that all cats far and wide in all parts of the Kingdom of Baconia share with me in the joy of a munchy, crunchy slice of bacon today!   Inform your humans that THE KING HAS SPOKEN!

(**think that will work?**)

If THAT doesn’t work………… them this official decree!!

That should do the trick!    And once they get the message, show them this delightful idea for how to make bacon not only for YOU to eat but THEY can enjoy some bacon too in this form!

My Mom thinks this is a fabulous way to enjoy some bacon……………….!!

I’ll tell you what REALLY works when it comes to getting the bacon you want for a snackable on BACON DAY……………….”THE LOOK” !!

One of these might work for you!!!!!!

If it doesn’t work……maybe you can wangle a handful of cat treats anyway…………..not QUITE as delish as bacon but not such a bad “second place”!    Whatever you do, and however it works out for you – have a HAPPY SATURDAY!

It’s good to be King!

Love, King Ted

Friendly Fill-Ins

Shall we do some friendly filling in?  Oh yes – lets!

This is a fun blog hop that is co-hosted by McGuffy’s Reader and 15andMeowing every Friday.    Four sentences given to us and we fill in the blanks – easy right?   Well it is, and it isn’t.   Sometimes you want to write six paragraphs instead of a word or two in the blanks.   HAHA.    Anyway, we are linking the badge above up with McGuffy’s Reader and if you’d like to join in the hop, just click the badge and use the LINKY TOOL there to join in the fun!

This week’s sentences are best filled in by people and not cats so Teddy surrendered control of the blog to ME today and I’m going to do my best – wouldn’t want to embarrass him – nothing worse than a Mom embarrassing her ginger boy right?   Right!   My “fill-ins” are in blue.

1. A book I would like to see made into a movie is “The Mystery of David’s Bridge” which just happens to be the mystery novel I wrote some years ago.   I really do think it would make a great movie!

2. If I could afford a billboard, it would say “LOVE ONE ANOTHER AND SAVE THE WORLD”.

3. I have a hard time not giving an opinion even when I’ve not been ASKED to give one!.

4. I really enjoy travel – we need to get back into doing that – it had all been on hold when Sammy was so ill but now we really should be able to do it – Teddy would love staying at our wonderful local kennel – Sammy loved it there.

So that’s my filling in for this week…………..who knows what kinds of filling in we’ll have for next Friday but I can guarantee it will be FUN to visit everyone who’s in the Hop to see how they complete the above sentences.   Amazing what you can learn from a few words someone has said isn’t it?  Now, Teddy I’m finished – is there anything you want to say to everyone before we say GOODBYE?
I’ll just remind everyone that tomorrow is BACON DAY!   Something tells me I don’t really have to remind you though – – – – who doesn’t look forward to bacon once a week (at least)????

Love, Teddy and Mom

Thankful and Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

Time For Double-Header Thursday!

Thankful Thursday with Brian and Poetic Thursday with ME!

First off – I will be THANKFUL and join up with Brian’s Blog Hop where we celebrate all the things we are thankful for!  You can click the badge above and join in if you like!

I am thankful for several things this week – well really I’m thankful for WAY more than “several” but I’ll just mention a few.   One is that we have a ROCK visiting us – Bashful from my pig friend Bacon’s “Hotel Thompson” and I must say, Bashful is being a VERY good rock.    I don’t have any new photos to show you of his escapades while he’s here – he has, in fact, been a very GOOD rock so far although other blog buddies he’s visited have reported that he can be a “handful” !    New photos coming soon I promise.  I’m also thankful that my Mom let me join Cat Scouts because I’m having a TON OF FUN.    My big brother Angel Sam is still a Cat Scout and still a Troop Leader there even though he’s at the Bridge now.   He’s super busy these days but joins me there when he can.    I’m also very thankful that we finally got a day of SUNSHINE after so many days of rain.   I am doing my best to get used to the harness Mom is forcing me to wear (Sammy’s old one) – I’ve never been “restrained” before so it takes some getting used to.    I walk three steps then lie down (Mom says I look like I’m hoping the harness isn’t following me).   HAHAHAHA

So there are many more “thankfuls” but that’s a start…………NEXT UP we have my brother Angel Sammy’s Thoroughly Poetic Thursday where he challenges everyone to play along by writing a poem with the NEXT letter of the alphabet as the title – last week we did “S” and he wrote about SNOW.    This week is “T” and what did he write about??    Well you’ll see below the badge!

“T” is for….

“Tiny Tigers”

By Angel Sammy Kimmell, 4/27/17

Mom has always had a thought

When she adopted me (and Teddy) what she REALLY got

Were tiny tigers – not cats at all

But mighty tigers standing tall!

Moving quietly on padded feet

Hunting for something good to eat!

Wild game is around everywhere we look…..

YOU see a chair, a rug, a book

But WE see buffalo, gazelles, and hyenas galore!

We hear them running across the floor!

We pounce and leap and attack with joy

Even though the reality is, we’ve caught a TOY!

We love to pretend we’re big tigers you see……

But we’re just ginger kitties who PRETEND to be free……..

That was a good one Angel Sammy!   You’re a poet – and we ALL know it!

Monsieur Angel Sammy – my special brother AND poet!

Did you write a poem today?  If you did you can post it in our comments section if you like so you can SHARE it OR you can put your own blog link in my comments and we’ll go visit you and read your MASTERPIECE!!!

Go ahead! You can write a poem I just KNOW you can!

Oh go on! Just TRY!

So Angel Sammy and I will see you next Thursday for another Thoroughly Poetic Thursday?    We will be doing a poem starting with the letter “U”………….no I’m confident Angel Sammy will not be writing about UNDERWEAR…………honest!

OK – enough talking – let’s play!  I wanna be a TINY TIGER!

Love, Teddy

Teaser Tell All Time!

Class Time!

Step right up students of geographical mysteries!   Have a seat and pay attention – it’s time to TELL ALL about yesterday’s Teaser!

Professor Sam and Professor Teddy I studied HARD all morning and STILL don’t know the answer! This was TOUGH!

You’re right – it was a very tough Teaser and we didn’t think ANYONE would guess it but guess what……………someone did!   More than ONE someone!     But let’s back up a bit and talk about who was FIRST COMMENTER………….we had a TIE for FIRST COMMENTER this week.

Da Phenny (trying to beat Angel Easy’s record!)

Miss Csilla of Trifles (Kolytyi)

Then we must say we figured all day people would be guessing and getting nowhere with the photo we posted which was THIS ONE:

BUT we were wrong……………..because not long after we went live, someone guessed the right TOWN and COUNTRY which we thought was a miracle.    Who was that lucky ducky?    Well it wasn’t a ducky, it was my friend Timmy Tomcat !!     Here’s your badge Timmy!

He guessed the photo was taken in Brno, Czech Republic and it was.   This is actually the Town Hall in Brno.   Here are a couple of other photos of it:

It’s a beautiful building and you can CLICK HERE for more information!

WHO sent me these gems???   It was our wandering racewalker who has been racing all across Europe lately in various racing competition – the fabulous Leo!   This is for you Leo!

For Leo for the Teaser photo of 4/25/17

I have to say that another friend posted HER answer and was RIGHT ON THE MONEY guessing the Town Hall – that was my friend Shoko – and there were SEVERAL others who guessed Brno so for the rest of you who did, please take THIS:

Those of you who were wrong will get the fabulous Greenie…………….

Concatulations to EVERYONE – that really was a tough Teaser!

WHERE will we be going next week to give you a challenge?   You never know – it could be anywhere on the globe……….so make sure between now and then, you study up!   You know you want one of the winner badges – surely some of you have totally covered your homes in GREEN and are ready for a nice “FIRST RIGHT GUESSER” to hang over the fireplace on your green wall right?

Assistant Professor Teddy and I will be waiting to see you next Monday for the Pre-Tease warm-up then Tuesday for the BIG SHOW AND TELL!!!!!
