It’s Double Post Day Again!

One blog post for two occasions………Brian’s Thankful Thursday and my very own Thoroughly Poetic Thursday.    So let the fun begin………..first with Brian’s Thankful Thursday – the badge below will whisk you away to his blog if you’d like to join up with this blog hop and talk about what you are THANKFUL for…….I’m thankful that even though my little brother Teddy is slowly taking over the reins of what used to be “my” blog, and some of “my” duties like KING OF BACON – I can still not be jealous but instead be PROUD of him for carrying on the traditions that I started.   Teddy is a super sweet kitty and he wears his “GINGER” very well if I do say so myself!

Part Two of today’s post is my poem of the week……………!

NEVER

“Never say never” is a saying I like

Learning to be hopeful is like riding a bike

There are bumps in the road and you might take a fall

But at the end of your ride, it will be worth it all.

If you feel like it’s “never” then you might as well give up

You must believe in HALF FULL not HALF EMPTY for your cup

Hope is the oil that keeps all things on track

In our hearts, in our minds, we just shouldn’t look back

For thinking “NEVER” means that you won’t even try

You won’t look beyond the clouds at the beautiful blue sky…..

So never say never…..keep a smile on your face

You might pull out in front and WIN your life’s race!

Hey Sammy, that was a swell poem!   I promise I will NEVER say NEVER!   But I do want to remind our blog friends that this Saturday we will have more information on the upcoming BACON HARVEST PARTY………..details and some “photo op” shots that those of you who want to pawticipate in the party can use to put yourself in the action!   You’ll see what I mean Saturday so STAY TUNED.    We’re going to have a fabulous time!   How could it NOT be fabulous – the Ginger Boys are at the helm of the GOOD SHIP BACONIA!

  13. Sammy, your poem is absolute purrfection, and a good reminder for all of us. Our mom is such an idiot. She wrote our post as always and thought she scheduled it as always, but guess what?     • HAHA……Gang, your new brother Cooper wrote a FABULOUS poem….we loved it – my Mom does crazy things all the time and I have to say I wonder how she’s managed to survive for all these years!!! DUH!!! Anyway, even though your Mom forgot to post it, it’s NOW posted and that’s what matters. Hope you have a GREAT Thursday and remember Saturday I’ll have info on the bacon harvest for NEXT Saturday!

    • Hi Seville….thanks for coming by……………gosh I’m glad you like my poem – Mom is BIG on the “never say never” thing. And YES bacon is in the forecast…….we will be harvesting our first crop from the bacon greenhouse weekend after this……..tomorrow I’ll have some photo ops and info on the harvest which will be the following Saturday. WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

    • Look for my blog on Saturday – will be some “photo ops” for the following Saturday AND besides, I’ll have the usual photos of delicious bacon stuff and you don’t wanna miss that right?

    • HAHAHAHA……Love your haiku! I think the poor neon tetra would be TOTALLY LOST if he did live in the ocean – imagine that…..tiny little doods that they are. BUTTTT, I still say NEVER SAY NEVER because even though you would not have turkee VOLUNTARILY, they sneak burd into all kinds of things like treats and stuff that you MIGHT eat innocently……always read the fine print……humans are SNEAKY!

    • YES Sweet Nellie you most certainly can use NEVER SAY NEVER……….it’s a very good thing to remember and a good way to stay positive! You and I know how GOOD it is to stay positive……..We will have a special bacon harvest dear girl and you will be there……….!! Oh boy!
