We’re having fun with Dory’s celebration of the month of December with everyone sharing how they celebrate Christmas!   TODAY is my day – December 18th – and while I’m no longer HERE to celebrate Christmas with my Mom and Dad now that I’ve gone to the Rainbow Bridge, they are carrying on all the traditions we had as a family for my 17 years with them!

Christmas morning......

Always have our tree set up in the library!

Always have Dad's train going round and round and I always snoopervise it!

Sam Under Christmas Tree

Always I’m in the middle of EVERYTHING!

Always trying out the boxes!

Always trying out the boxes!

Always hang our cards around the doorway.

Always hang our cards around the doorway.

So even though I’m now over the Rainbow Bridge and won’t be keeping Mom and Dad company in purrrrson this year, I will BE there…….watching……and giving them special Angel Love because they really do miss me like crazy.    Some traditions just MUST go on and I highly approve of that!!!!

Thank you Dory for having this fabulous whole month full of Christmas fun and sharing…………………we are so glad to be a part of it and wish EVERYONE:

  1. Oh pal, we are so happy to hear your humans are carrying on with the same traditions – that is so important. Being an Angel, you can visit any time you want – they just can’t see you. Afterall, you still need to snoopervise the holiday celebrations.

    • I had plenty of time here to leave my mark for sure Madi! Just as the new guy on the block (or gal!) will leave THEIR mark as well whenever Mom and Dad adopt again. YES I asked for a pretty sunrise JUST FOR YOU!!! Glad it came!

  3. Sammy, tears back in mommy’s eyes. She knows what you said for your mommy and daddy are just what she has felt too. Our parents are always so grateful for our love while we are with them and later. Admiral left remembrances over the house for mama to find. It made for smiles through the tears.

    • Yes we leave behind things and feelings and move of all love forever. Mom still hasn’t put away a lot of my things but then again she has hope in her heart that soon after Christmas she and Dad will visit the shelter and all of my old “stuff” will be NEW again for a cat they adopt. Christmas is all about love………..always.

    • Hi ERin…..yes indeed – I will keep my Mom and Dad on the traditional path to Christmas – when they add a new furry family member I’ll take up training so they know what to expect and how to enjoy the train, tree and EMPTY BOXES!

  5. Of course, you are still there, S. You will always be there. Even after you pick out a new kitty for your parents, you will still be there, helping the new kid find his way around the traditions.

    • That’s right Cupcake…..it’s a big job – training a new kid on the block – but I’m up for it. They are going to be super lucky like I was to have such great parents…….Yes I’m always going to be “around”…..those we have loved and who have loved us are ALWAYS with us – tucked away in our hearts.

  6. It is important to keep traditions going Sammy, and I know you will be watching your mum and dad with love. When they look at the train they may at first think it has stopped in a different place than they left it, but then they will know.

    • Oh Flynn! How did you know my secret??? Every night when they go to bed I move an ornament OR move the train…..just to see if they notice….so far they haven’t but I think they are just still too sad to SEE….but they will….

Hi Pam: Sherri-Ellen here. I just want to say I admire your resolve to continue the Sammy traditions & go on. I completely folded when NYLABLUE went to Summerland. In fact, I do not decorate at all. Something went when she went & even having P SH with me, we have no tradition…..yet…..
Sending you gentle (((hugs))) of admiration, Sherri-Ellen ❤ ❤

    • Hi Siddhartha! I know that when Mom put this post together she had to go through a lot of old photos of me to pick the ones for the Hop…..and it was sad for her…but in the end, it just reminded her all over again about how much FUN the traditions were and how important they were…….you and Ladymum will make your OWN – when she’s ready! Love, Angel Uncle Sammy

Sherri-Ellen: Trust me – I didn’t think we could possibly decorate and carry on as usual after Sammy passed away but David and I decided it was a good way to honor our love for him. He loved everything about Christmas and would get so excited when we got the decoration boxes out, put up the tree, everything – so we did it for HIM, and in doing so, we wound up making it a happy occasion and realizing too how it lifted our spirits. I think you and Siddhartha can make the holiday your OWN – I have no doubt that Nylablue would WANT you to do that…..a celebration of LOVE! Hugs, Pam

    • They sure are – I guess the only one they won’t be doing is leaving boxes/paper/ribbons on the floor after the unwrapping – – they would leave it all there for a day after Christmas so I could play with it all before they cleaned up!
