I love Caturday!  

YES I get bacon for breakfast

but I also get to spend the day

with Mom and Dad when they have NOTHING else to do!

That means it’s all about me………yay!

I thought you might enjoy an update on the Bacon Crop in the Greenhouse…….. in case you didn’t know, I planted some seeds that my friends the Kitties Blue sent to me – they required a special greenhouse to grow in!

I hired a staff to tend to the plants – which are doing quite well!

As soon as the bacon flowers and bears some edible bacon, we’ll have a big old harvest party and PIG OUT (no pun intended) on home grown bacon!

Indeed we do!

Mom came home from grocery shopping this past week all excited to tell Dad (and me of course) that she discovered something NEW in the grocery store – My Mom and Dad like SPAM (remember that stuff????) and Mom saw that they now make SPAM WITH BACON!!!!    That’s right – spam that’s made with Hormel bacon in it as well as ham.

I got to try a little bit………it was delish!!   My Mom and Dad loved it too.   Guess it will be on the table on some Saturdays instead of just plain bacon……..that’s ok with me!

  6. Happy Caturday, Sammy! Thought of you yesterday when I spent some time with Heleas, a polydactyl kitty who looks a lot like you (but a lot LOT chubbier 🙂 . All of her kittens were polydactyls too! That’s a lot of toes! 😀

    • Oh wow Miss Lemony! Is Heleas at the shelter? Are her kitties with her at the shelter? I’m happy you are still helping out there – I know those kitties just love you to bits!!!!!!!

  11. Our mom always liked Spam, but they never got it at home as her dad said he ate too much of it in WWII. She says that she probably hasn’t had any in 50 years. She might have to see if Dad wants to have some and have him get it when he shops. That bacon plant crop looks great, Sammy. Can’t wait for those plants to have bacon. Have a super Saturday.     • We’ve had rain day after day and today it rained all morning and just now it’s stopped – still overcast but not raining – FINALLY. Spam is interesting stuff – Mom usually buys the “lower sodium” spam when she gets it but this stuff is brand new and she couldn’t resist the word “BACON” on the package…HAHAHA…it’s pretty tasty stuff!!!!

  12. My mum can remember having spam fritters when she was a child. She never has it now because my dad doesn’t like it AT ALL! Maybe he would like it better with bacon, but I don’t think so.

    • If he didn’t like it – he probably wouldn’t like this – it’s much the same with just a hint of bacon. My parents both loved spam in their childhood (and let’s face it – they’re still in their childhood in some ways!!!!!).

  17. Dear King of Baconia, please excuse us for being late….it’s Mom’s fault. We want to know how your Mom and Dad like that Spam…Mom has thought of buying it. Her Mom used to make a casserole with frozen mixed veggies, cubes of spam and a white sauce. They would have a salad with that salad dressing (Good Seasons?) that came in the packet and you mixed it up with oil and vinegar. She can almost taste that dinner!!!

    • Spam with Bacon is DELISH Mom says……..in fact, she gave a little bit to me (before she fried it) and I quite liked it! That casserole sounds good……Mom might give that a whirl since she and Dad do love spam!!!

    • I’m so happy you and Ladymum made up – I know you didn’t knock that TV over on purpose but those things are EXPENSIVE so be very careful dear boy……I’m glad you’re alright though!! Lots of walks is wonderful – isn’t it great being on the harness and being “free” ?? Happy Sunday…….

    • I know – lots of people think SPAM is made out of the stuff they scrape off the floor at the piggy processing plant but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, it has REAL STUFF in it….now it also can have bacon in it! Actually we also saw another new type at the store but Mom didn’t think it sounded that good……..”smoky flavor”………

  24. Bacon seeds!! MOL. Perhaps we could get a cutting from your bacon plant and start our own. We’d need to keep the heater on in the greenhouse all winter though. You can have the spam with bacon. I like the vegetarian bacon. MOL

    • Never tried vegetarian bacon…….so you like it? Maybe Mom should try it – I’m sure it would be better for all of us than the real thing but gosh the real thing tastes SO DANG GOOD!

  25. Spam is one of my faves!!! Mes LOVES the Monty Python Spam song!!! And Mommy would LIVES to sees Spamalot someday! Wes had TURKEY bacon today!!! It was wonderful! Mommy says wes gotted it as a special treat cuz everybody was here.
    Thanks for coming to the debate! And yous knows who won!!! The Rump and The Hill did not get even ONE vote (Kong did though!)

    • Dearest Nellie – I was just at your blog and saw that you’re feeling a bit under the weather (or feeling bad BECAUSE of the weather!)……I’m glad Koz is keeping an eye on you – I would do it if I were there!!! I’m glad you got to have some turkey bacon with the rest of the gang….that’s super duper……..as for the new SPAM – Mom and I approve of SPAM WITH BACON! It’s delish!!!!!! I was so excited to hear KONG won the debate but not at all surprised – the Rump and the Hill (or the Hump as I call her) didn’t stand a chance!

    • Spitty I might try planting a can of tuna myself…..hadn’t thought of that……brilliant! I had no idea there were bacon seeds until Kitties Blue sent them to me! There’s a whole world out there buddy that we need to explore!!!!
