  1. I just read your account of where you were on 9/11 and have tears streaming down my face. I’ve often wondered what it must have been like for people who couldn’t get home for days after the attacks. None of us will ever forget where were were that day, and 9/11 will always be a day of remembrance. Thank you for sharing yours.

    • Ingrid I still can remember every single minute of that three or four day period…..and of course like everyone else, when we DID finally get home I was glued to the television wanting details and watching the recovery….hearing the stories….such a devastating time for so many. Thanks for reading my recollections – honestly it makes me cry to read them again too…………..

  2. Sammy, your mom did an excellent job of sharing her memories of that day. I’m sure that, every year, September 11 brings all those feelings back for them. We will all be remembering today, but it’s hard to imagine being so far from home when we all needed to be with our loved ones.

  3. That fateful day will be imprinted on everyone’s mind forever.
My mum and dad were due to go to Florida for a week before taking a cruise from Fort Lauderdale in October. My mum says she will never forget how welcoming everyone was because they still came. She said it never crossed her mind to cancel, although they were apprehensive on the flight. We can’t let the terrorists win!

    • You’re right Flynn…..I think everyone was determined to CARRY ON after that. Everyone remembers that time and where they were and how they felt……and we SHOULD remember. I’m glad your Mom and Dad were safe………..

  4. Oh my stars Sammy….I was not around then but my peeps tell me they had been in Budapest for a week and were in the Paris airport on 9/7 waiting for their flight home. They had been attending a work conf for mom. Normally they stayed a few days after the conference to tour. They toured before this time..b ause they had to be home for a wedding on 9/8… It was a very trying time for sure. One of the ladies who worked at the conf w mom stayed afterwards to tour she was near Newfould when their plane was diverted to Torono..where they stayed for 3 days
Dad does not like to attend weddings but he was sure glad he was at that one

    • Gosh your parents sure came close to being STUCK in Paris like my Mom and Dad were. That airport was a mad house for DAYS……it was awful wondering if they would ever get back home and of course I was STUCK in the kennel! Bad times for the whole world.

  5. We will not forget about 9-11. May the eternal peace of love heal our wounds, but the scars will still be there and we will not ever forget.

  6. Even way down here the day is scorched into our hearts and minds. Evil rose up on that day but it has no idea what it is up against! How awful to be out of your beautiful country at the time and how stressful. I will never forget that whole entire day and I get shivers just writing about it.
I posted the Sammy Tote bag yesterday. Creativity and love will always triumph. ❤ ❤ ❤

    • OH BOY – we’ll visit the blog and take a peek at the tote – – – we’ve had a tough time picturing it in our minds…….you are amazing……..totally…………..YES, Mom and Dad hating being away from “home” on 9/11. They were so happy to be back and be able to get me from the kennel and give me a HUGE hug…..they’ve been on trips since then of course but that was the only time I had to be away from them EXTRA long because of something terrible happening. Every year we say a prayer that nothing will ever happen like that again to ANYONE, ANYWHERE.

  7. What a great post. You were definitely effected by the crisis. We were not but as everyone else, our life changed too. We were not quite so trusting where we trusted most peeps. That was truly the day innocence died.
