Shopping Time!

See you in the grocery store aisles!!

See you in the grocery store aisles!!

Welcome to my little contribution to Bacon of Pig Love’s monthly shopping/sharing/recipe post where we get to see prices of foodables around the world AND share a recipe with the universe at the same time.

This month’s “shopping challenge” was to purchase stuff to make your favorite GRILLING FOOD!

One of my Mom and Dad’s favorite things to cook on our grill is SALMON…………I have no objection to that whatsoever because without fail, Mom always shares with me!!!

This one is super easy…………….GRILLED SALMON IN FOIL

Salmon Grilled in Foil Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (4 ounces each)   (price:   Fresh Boneless Salmon Filets $9.99/lb.)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder  (Price:  3 oz. shaker $2.49)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning  (Price:  3 oz. shaker $1.89)
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder (Price:   3 oz. shaker $3.89)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt  (didn’t add salt)
  • 1 small onion, cut into rings (Price:  One 5 oz. yellow onion $0.16)
  • 2 medium tomatoes, seeded and chopped  (Price:   two 9-oz. tomatoes, $1.40)

Directions

  1. Place salmon, skin side down, on a double thickness of heavy-duty foil (about 18 in. x 12 in.). Combine the garlic powder, lemon-pepper, curry and salt; sprinkle over salmon. Top with onion and tomatoes. Fold foil over fish and seal tightly.
  2. Grill, covered, over medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until fish flakes easily with a fork. Open foil carefully to allow steam to escape. Yield: 4 servings

YUMMERS!!!!!!!!     Salmon is one of my favorite flavors of Fancy Feast too…….tee hee….but FRESH salmon – what a treat.

Happy Shopping (and Eating!)

Hugs, Salmon Sam

  1. That sounds tasty, Sammy. My mum cooks salmon on the BBQ like that and she leaves the salt out too. She doesn’t add curry powder either because although she likes it, dad doesn’t. Sometimes she chops some mushrooms and adds them as well.

    • Aren’t you GENEROUS!!! It’s yum-a-roo as you say AND since my Dad tends to either UNDERCOOK or OVERCOOK everything on the grill, this one is SAFE because of the foil! HAHAHA

  2. I like this recipe!!! the mama bought a cajun seasoning for the salmon… but we probably can’t use it, because flames came out of her and she couldn’t talk for nearly an hour as she tried it…(my dad said let’s buy a bucket of that stuff, yay!) so we will use your recipe for my bbq on furryday, thanks!!!

  3. Phooey! We missed this again. I will have to have my hubby try this, he loves salmon. I bet it would be extra good with some bacon in it Sammy. XO

  4. Nice way to have salmon my friends. We are not into much salmon here. We both were raised on the coast and ate way too much salmon so once a year is plenty for us. Shoko and Kali said they’d send Sammy any salmon fancy feast they get. The girls aren’t into salmon.

    • Mom and Dad do salmon maybe twice in a summer……..getting good salmon filets can be tricky here but Mom keeps an eye open for the good stuff. My parents are big seafood nuts (well, they’re nuts anyway but that’s another story!).
