Thoroughly Poetic Thursday

POETRYSAM

Welcome Poetry Appreciators!

Here we are again on a Thursday working our way through the alphabet and writing a poem about SOMETHING starting with the “letter of the week” !    Today we are writing about the lovely letter “D”.    Let me dip into my fertile ginger brain and come up with something “D”-ish!

“Dining”

The world of cat food is so big

Whether picky eater or kitty kat pig

I myself am getting picky

Some kitty food just plain tastes icky

Seafood is what I do prefer

Mom opens a can and begins to stir

I wait and wait until she puts down my dish

I can already tell it’s some kind of fish

Shrimp, crab, sardines or trout

I’ll clean my plate there is no doubt

I eat it up then clean my face

This ginger boy is no disgrace!

I’ll take a nap – so full I feel…..

My nose will wake me for my next meal!

By Sammy Kimmell, Boy Poet

I squeezed off another gem right?   Right?   This is getting to be tons of fun……….next week we’ll be at “E”……………..I’ll try to come up with something swell and in the meantime, why don’t you put YOUR poem in my comments so everyone can see I’m not the only WRITER in the blogosphere who can come up with a fab poem JUST LIKE THAT!    Even better, you can join in on your own blog and write a poem with me every week.   You can put your link in a comment HERE and people can follow to your blog to read your literary masterpiece!

Well all that thinking, creating, and writing has made me sleepy………..I do believe it’s time for yet another of my 87 naps a day……………YAWN………………….

Wake me when it’s meal time again Mom will ya?

Love, Sammy Shakespeare

    • HAHAHA…….I really don’t care for beef or any other meat in the kitty food department HOWEVER, if Mom wants to give me a slice of deli roast beef, I will NOT turn it down – in fact I love it!

  2. Sammy, that poem is G-R-E-A-T! Our little haiku is pretty pathetic…mom’s drinking wine was not a good thing. Here it is for those who don’t visit Kitties Blue. We are going to start thinking about an E poem now. At least F will be easy…we can write about Fiona.

    Tired of our toys.
    Waiting for our BlogPaw’s swag.
    Delayed…train derailed.

Have a great snoozy day. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    • I do love your haiku! I also hope Mr. postman brings you that SWAG – from what I’ve seen there was a whole lot of GREAT stuff being distributed at Blogpaws this year! I’ve been meaning to ask about dear Fiona – hopefully continuing to do well with her SubQs and blood work? Mom just got back from the grocery store – she got more bacon……I have trained her well!

I know a whole lot of people were surprised my “Dining” poem didn’t mention bacon BUTTTTTT seafood is my other big love so I decided to devote “D” to that…..sooner or later on another letter of the alphabet the chances are Bacon will make an appearance though. I do love the stuff. I also LOVE y our poem!!!! Many of us are BACONATORS aren’t we??!!

    • Hi Seville! Glad you liked my poetic offering this week…..next week is “E”…..I’m considering my options. Mom got a can or two of “BEYOND” cat food which had sardines as part of the ingredients and it was DY-NO-MITE. I know other kitties have tried “real” whole sardines and loved them. I think your peep needs to get you a sardine to try – you know, we all should try NEW stuff once in a while!
