FILLINS

I’m Filling In with 15andmeowing and McGuffy’s Reader!

The sentences we needed to fill in are below AND I’m letting Mom fill them in today since I did last week’s!   My fill-ins are in RED!

1. My feelings get hurt when Mom yells at me (although that’s a RARE occasion!).
2. I am excited about new bags of treats when Mom gets one out of the pantry – I go crazy!
3. Eat first, then have a nice long nap.
4. One time, I ran off and Mom couldn’t catch me down in the woods, that’s why I wear a harness and leash now!
That’s fun – I hope you are joining in on this fun Friday tradition – add your fill-ins to the one of the linkies at the above blogs who are our hosts and have some fun!   Even if you don’t play along, you can visit everyone else’s posts there!
Now for the MAIN EVENT today – cleaning the house!

    • Cupcake I was probably about 3 months old at the time………..and so little and FAST that Mom couldn’t keep up with me. That was the last time I was out there without a harness and leash……..I disappeared for an hour before I came home and Mom was – well – a MESS when I got back. I had to endure a lot of hugs and kisses…….!!

  1. I like your answers, Sammy. I have only ever run off once and that was when I had to chase an introoder cat away. My mum used to take me and Eric for walks around the fields ever since we were small and she used to tell us to wait if she wanted to check a horse. I was better than Eric and used to sit on the spot until she told me it was okay to go again. Eric used to amble on in his own time, but didn’t run off.

    • You boys knew a good thing when you had it – and you still do – why run off when you have a wonderful and comfy home, good food, good hunting, and most of all LOTS OF LOVE!!!! Good for you being the good one and staying until your Mum said “let’s go”!

  2. I have to wear a harness and a leash too Sammy… maybe that was the right decision, we both aren’t made for a life in the woods :o) … but wait, they have to vacculas in the wood… that’s an argument, right?

    • That’s true Easy – there are no noisy monster machines in the woods – the woods are dirty all the time with nobody trying to polish furniture or dust! Maybe the woods isn’t so bad???????

  3. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, I always enjoy your answers. I had no idea you made a jail break one time. The new cleaning crew looks great, hopefully they will be more reliable than the Broobhildas. Have a great day. XO

    • The Broomhildas were good but seemed to need a lot of time off…..hey – I don’t get time off so why should they – right????? Yeah – I did ONE jailbreak when I was just a wee baby……I was exploring the woods and because I was so little I could go UNDER the sticker bushes and Mom couldn’t so I got away……she was not happy……I wasn’t either because I came back home in about an hour. Exploring the woods wasn’t all I thought t would be!

  4. Awesome fill in’s cousin. Me and dad have house duty today and cleaning. Shaking my piggy head. That means I have to drag my dirty stuff to the laundry room. I tell you I do believe that is piggy abuse. Maybe I can get Houdini to help when he gets done hoovering the floors? Happy Friday! XOXO – Bacon

Sammy Cleo is our resident absconder…if she can any chance she will try and run out at night..i have had a baby (thankfully) eastern brown strike my boot on a summer night when she got out and i was looking for her..of course i hoped she did NOT come back to me right then !..now if she gets out at night i know exactly where she is..the bottom of a gum tree which had possums..i always get her but sheesh..11 acres of rabbit burrows and uneven ground..yikes ! Loves Fozziemum xx

    • Oh Cleo! All those BAD things out there in the bush and she likes to roam – you’d think she’d be happy to be in a nice house with a beautiful fenced yard AND a “catio” that’s the envy of the cat community! Well, all I can say is good thing you had your boots on when you had to go hunting for her out there – SNAKES – SCARY ONES too!

    • You’re gonna have to get used to all that dust dearest Madi with the reno going on………..oh boy it’s only just begun!! (that’s a song isn’t it?!) You will be stark raving bonkers before that project is finished although you DID survive the window replacement and if you can do that – you can do ANYTHING!!!!!

    • I thought it was the least I could do….Mom and Dad don’t use it (!) so I feel it’s MY responsibility…..as for your toilet – I say why bother cleaning it until the mold/mildew/grime begins growing OUT of the bowl – and then it’s time to transfer it to your front yard and turn it into a planter.

    • It’s smart to stay inside I think………Mom thinks because I was a feral baby I might just have had that “outside thing” from the start……I’ve always loved to be outside but now on a leash and under snoopervision only. INSIDE is so much better really!

  7. Your answers were cute. The pictures were great although I cannot imagine trying to get a cat in a costume. We had a hard enough time getting one of our grand-doggers into a ladybug costume.

We thought about dressing Xerxes as a taco but he nixed that idea.

    Liked by 1 person

    • No way do I wear costumes for real – thank heavens for photoediting…HAHAHA….I’m too squirmy for Mom to dress me up – although occasionally since I’m a CAT SCOUT, I have to wear my Scouts neckerchief and I can handle that alright! I think taco costumes are hilarious on animals – have seen several pups in them and it always makes me giggle!

  8. I am sure your mommy doesn’t mean to yell at you. Sometimes we mommies just get over-excited or scared and it comes out in a yell. The woods can be a dangerous place for a kitty. There are snakes in there.

    Have a blessed day!

    • I think Mom yells at me if I’m about to do something that might hurt me and that’s OK with me…..I need that kind of snoopervision as we cats are very curious little beings and get into trouble if not snoopervised well!! I have only been in our woods with Mom once….and we BOTH stay out of the woods these days as we seem to have more snakes than usual around this year and Mom HATES HATES HATES snakies!

      • I think that sometimes we all need that kind of snoopervision. 🙂
I don’t hate snakes, but I don’t appreciate getting surprised by them, like I did once walking through the dining room. While I was passing by the table, one slithered off right onto my foot and scooted off to who-knows-where. That is a bit unnerving, to say the least! There seem to be an abundance of all sorts of creepy crawlies this year.

Have a purrfect weekend, Sammy. 🙂

          • The ones around here get in no matter what I do, it seems. We even found where one had shed its skin in our filing cabinet. That shed skin was about 4 feet long. I shudder to think what length that new skin is.
            Hugs. 🙂

            Liked by 1 person

          • Yikes……how can they get in the house so easily?!?!?! Fortunately we’ve never had one in the house – just out in the yard – but then that’s “their” territory anyway. A four foot long skin means a BIG SNAKE!

            Hugs, Sammy

          • That’s what I think, too, and I hope that thing isn’t still in the house. I’ll have a heart attack if it jumps out at me somewhere!

Unfortunately, many of the houses here on the TX Gulf Coast are built flat on the ground on a concrete slab. The foundations crack as the ground shifts and can create ways for various varmints to come in. Also, our back door has a space between it and the floor and I know at least one got in that way. A lizard followed me in a few days ago. Thankfully, those are little and harmless (as far as I know).

            Hugs, Suzanne

            Like

          • Oh yeah….that would explain how your introooooders are getting in alright. Well, I’m happy we don’t get varmints in the house here although Mom says “NEVER SAY NEVER”……still, we don’t see snakes that often and the other wildlife is too big to get in through little spots (raccoons, skunks, groundhogs, deer, bears) – Mom has a rather irrational fear of snakes BUT fortunately as I say, when we see one it’s usually a harmless black snake. HOWEVER there have been some water moccasins around since there’s a stream at the bottom of our property!!!! Don’t want to tangle with those!

            Hugs, Sammy

            Liked by 1 person

          • Definitely not! Water moccasins will chase after you. Most snakes don’t want to be messed with and will head away from you, but there are a few that will come after you even if you aren’t messing with them. Rattlesnakes are another kind that will come after you, so we’re told. I haven’t ever run across one of those outside of a zoo. We’ve had coral snakes and broadband water snakes, and copperheads in this yard. The broadband water snakes aren’t poisonous. Thankfully, that is the kind we see the most. Hugs, Suzanne

  11. A clean house always makes me feel happy! We just returned from having a CHEESEBURGER! I am going to pass on Fill-ins this week, my brain feels fried and CH is over snoring in his chair and i can’t concentrate!

    • CHEESEBURGERS!!!! YAY!!!!! I think my Mom and Dad are grilling out tonight….Mom got some pre-made Angus burgers at the grocery yesterday that have bleu cheese and mushrooms in them – sounds interesting……I’m hoping for a trial taste too! Guess what – my Mom was trying to concentrate on a TV show yesterday early evening and Dad’s snoring was keeping her distracted too! What’s with that?!?!?!

We don’t like to be reprimanded either – really hurts our feelings.

Thanks for the kind words for Ciara, Mom jinxed as the evil S came back this morning – so discouraging.

  14. Love your take on housecleaning! We have one cat who was an outdoor kitty for over 5 years before she came to live with us. She’s miserable if she can’t go out at all, so she has learned to stay on the porch and in the grass right in front of the door. Every once in a while, she climbs the tree by the house and gets on the roof so she can see everything, but she has never left the yard since we trained her to stay close.

    • We learn (eventually!) where we can and can’t go and if you have your cat on the porch and in the grass but staying CLOSE, that’s just perfect! I am allowed to be without my harness and leash now that I’m older – I don’t roam – I stay around my house but even then I’m never out without one of my parents close by. When it’s dark outside I’m always on my harness and leash…..with Mom at the other end!
