Huh? Summer?
Well, of course it isn’t REAL summer yet but lemme tell ya………..after WEEKS (literally) of complaining about day after day of rain and cold and icky stuff we just had two whole days of temps in the 80s and total sunshine. What a gift for those of us who were beginning to grow moss in our “crevices” (don’t ask).
Mom got the lawn mowed yesterday and from all the rain we’ve had – the lawn looks GREAT…………….no telling how long it will take all of that to turn brown but it will – trust me. Just because it starts out looking MAHVELOUS, it won’t last……….
We have NO plans for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend………….which is kinda nice. Mom says we should have our first cookout of the season………..Dad says “uh huh”……….Mom says we should eat out at the picnic table……….Dad says “uh huh”……….I don’t mind either way really because I won’t be out there – just make sure my food bowl has SOMETHING in it Mom and you and Dad do WHATEVA!
Yeah – you and Dad could eat that whole table full of food in like – five minutes – right?
My Dad even got to go flying AGAIN yesterday because the weather was perfect……………….

Anyway, he had a ball and flew for a couple of hours then came home and did yard work – what a champ.
So what this blog post amounts to is a review of the past two days of early summer at my house and frankly, from the weather forecast – maybe SUMMER is gonna stick around for a while. All I did was complain while we were struggling (or swimming) through Spring…………..let’s see if this stays.
Hope you have a HAPPY THURSDAY………………….I’m gonna…………………..C’mon Mom – let’s go sit on the front porch and dig this heat!

oh what a nice idea to use the good weather for touching the sky with your fab red berd (has it a name too?). my dad said uh uh too… but not for BBQ, it was for my momma who grabbed shorts today as she saw some sun rays… dad was right and the shorts are back in the closet :o)

UHOH…..no shorts? Is warm weather having a hard time staying with you too? My Dad hasn’t named his plane – can you imagine that? He’s had that plane for all these years and never named it. He dos call it “she” so at least we all know it’s a girl! Today we are going to have another beautiful day….THREE IN A ROW. WOW.

There’s always something fun going on for your mom and dad Sammy. I think that’s pawsitively awesome. We didn’t get a stitch of rain until last week. Then it rained 3 times more than a usual May. Go figure. We were so happy for it too. I think it’s going to be nice today though cause I go to work. That’s how I forecast nice days, LOL. xo B

sometimes NO PLANS are the very BEST PLANS. Have fun and make sure your food bowl is filled or else MEOW!!! I am working on a wee barbeque area here too. I couldn’t before because of the “tumblers” (dont ask) Except they are so big now they have to tumble in a purpose built barn. Your Dad (and Mom)work hard and your lawn looks inviting. ❤ ❤ ❤

Oh I’ve GOT TO KNOW what Tumblers are…..especially if they have their own barn! Our lawn looks nice NOW but in two months you won’t recognize it. It will be BROWN. LOL

WOW!!!! Very impressive……I can remember tumbling in school when I was a kid – but it wasn’t that sophisticated – just somersaults and things like that on big fat mats. Of course dinosaurs were roaming the earth back then too! WE ARE IMPRESSED!

Cookout and dinner on the picnic table sounds great to me! We will be home on Memorial Day swimming because RAIN. It’s raining now like it did yesterday and the day before. Rain tomorrow too. Sunday is suppose to be a break and we will go to The Mama’s and having a late lunch/early dinner on her deck… Southern Boil. Your yard looks so pretty. I could be happy on your porch, looks a lot like our porch… stone wall, rockers. I am loving the picture of you in your visor with shades! Hope your Dad buzzed the house!

Hi Miss Pix! Oh I’m sorry you have RAIN RAIN RAIN. We were happy to get some sun as we were so sick of WET. Hope you get your sunny day on Sunday AND have a wonderful Memorial Weekend meal with her – Southern Boil – YUMMMMMM! Our yard looks pretty NOW but trust me – two months and you won’t recognize it……there will be a lot of DEAD GRASS and brown stuff. YUCK. My Mom is a nutcase….she LOVES riding the lawn tractor around……..we have a smaller back yard but all of the mowing takes her less than an hour – she’s a demon on that thing!!!!

You have a wonderful yard, Sammy: ever so green. Ours is like that, too. A few days ago I said it had “fifty shades of green”. But, as you rightly say, we both know it won’t last, and at some time it’ll go brown again. Maybe – hopefully – that is still some time off.

Thanks Kismet – we now have a DIRECTION…..we need someone to give us assignments otherwise we sit around on our tushies and talk about how bored we are! ALRIGHT – cleaning the silver case out (do you mean stealing it and hocking it at the pawn shop??? If So, I’m up for it!)……….SuzieQ is practicing her cheers and I’ve heard the word “GEEZER” a few times so she’s back to her old tricks. I have SO many questions right now! 1) Did you REALLY fly with your Dad?, 2) Do your ears pop?!, 3) Are you and/or your Mom and Dad flying to BAR?, 4) Are there pictures of you in the plane?

Hi Noodle! No I haven’t flown with him – it would be WAY too noisy for me in the plane – it’s a little two seater and it’s VERY noisy unless you wear a headset (which my Mom does do when she’s in the right seat). My Mom’s ears pop once in a while but not always – depends on what maneuvers Dad does in the plane (if any). We aren’t going to BAR unfortunately……it would take quite a while in our Cessna anyway – it’s a small plane and can fly for two hours before having to stop for fuel……also the weather needs to be PERFECT – small planes are very light so if there’s a lot of wind aloft you get tossed around pretty good. HEavier/bigger planes are more stable so Mom and Dad don’t take trips in our plane – they “airport hop” and visit other pilots or go to the little airport restaurants and have coffee or a sandwich…..it’s FUN! I bet you’d love flying though Noodle – you’re a very adventurous boy AND a lot younger than I am. I might have given it a whirl when I was a young guy!

Yeah long weekends are terrific – now when you’re RETIRED like my parents, long weekends aren’t QUITE as exciting as it was when they worked BUT it will mean that more people will be out and about!!

Burgers – my Mom and Dad have them at least every other week! Nothing like a homecooked burger………..!!! I hope you get some nice walks and condo time in – we will have warm weather but maybe a shower or two – at least not DAY AFTER DAY of rain though!

That is so nice! Wes had rain here and gloomy skies and the Mommy is dragging mes off to Gibson’s for a beach vacation for 3 days! It would be nice if the forecast was for sun, but no! More rain!

I am glad you are getting good weather, Sammy. We have had a few good days too. Mum gave all the plants a good watering and feed this morning because it was nice and warm and sunny again. Of course she put the kibosh on it and we had thunderstorms an hour later and heavy rain for the rest of the day.

I like to supervise my mum when she is working in the garden. I still like to go in the fields too but I no longer have the energy to get there or back, so she carries me. When we are there she sits on the horse trough while I watch mouse holes.
