Yes, I am admitting here and now that a majority of time on most of my days for the past year or so is spent in sweet repose……………..from my toes to my nose, I sleep ever so deep and trust me, Mom is happy about that because when I’m awake I’m very…………………….VOCAL. Yeah, that’s the nice way to say it – I’m usually calling her from somewhere in the house – I need her to do something for me – clean my litterbox, fill up the kibble bowl, let me outside, get in her chair so I can pop up onto her lap for a brush…………..whatever I want, I get. Trust me. Why do you think my blog is called ONE SPOILED CAT????
Anyway, I’m wandering off point here – the point is I love sleeping more than ever in my whole life……maybe it’s the medication I take, maybe it’s the hyperthyroid issue, maybe it’s my age, maybe it’s just because I LOVE TO SLEEP????? Mom took some photos of me yesterday and feels compelled to show them so here I am – in all my glory…..snoring away on the rug in Mom’s room.

These days when I’m asleep I’m REALLY asleep – Mom can come and go in the room and I’m oblivious….she can bump her chair into her desk – I don’t hear it……..she can cough, sneeze, burp, I’m unaware. Being hard of hearing is swell! Mom is amazed that when I’m lying like this on the floor I actually look chubby. In fact, I’m slim and trim now and when Mom feels my backbone she gets depressed – Dad tells her to “get a grip woman! Sam’s better off without the weight on him!”………….and I am. I don’t hobble around like I used to because of my achy joints! WOOT!
I think the other photos Mom has taken of me snoring resting lately you’ve all seen…….but in case someone out there is a “sleeping cat photo fanatic”……here are some more of ME for your viewing pleasure……
So that’s the end of today’s show…………….ME ME ME ME, it’s all about ME. Mom has been a flashy box crazy lady for the past six months….like she wants to chronicle and record every breath I take…………..well you never know how many breaths you ARE going to take and you never know what tomorrow will bring so I indulge her. She’s my Mom. Moms are super cool.
Before I leave……….I just want to say something about our lovely friends at All Fur One and One Fur All because their wonderful sweet pup Forrest flew off to the Bridge at home in the sunshine with his Mom and Dad there to help ease the way for him. We’ve all either experienced this or will one day, and while we know it’s what has to be done or what must be, it’s NEVER easy. I just want to say Mom and I are sending them and their whole family – furry and human – a HUGE HUG…………Ann Adamus of Zoolatry did a beautiful badge for Forrest……..he lived “the sweet life” Down Under and this is the way I will always think of him – looking out over the outback. Farewell Forrest – I will look for you when I get there…..you can believe it my friend.

Sammy, I have to say, maybe sleeping is the best thing when you get older. Binga will be 16 this year and she spends more time pestering the humans than she does sleeping (although she does that too, sometimes)! She’s always begging for food or complaining or wanting attention! It’s exhausting watching her… but she always gets a good report from the vet, so the humans are stuck with her the way she is.

HAHAHA…..Binga is a force to be reckoned with – and one of the best photobombers of all time! Sleeping is something I’ve always been very good at, and it’s exhausting trying to keep up with LIFE and humans sometimes so I say, if you’re TIRED – sleep!!!!!!! Right? Right!

Spooky and now Forrest and the list goes on and on……..Mom says when you follow a lot of anipal blogs you’re going to experience a lot more partings than you do in the human world…..but no matter what, partings are sad and there have been too many of them lately. Sweet Sammy, Mommy said reading about you— including calling your mom in the house at night brought back memories as it is like reading Admiral’s blog and what she used to do. Her Opera singing at night was famous. Family were treated to her arias when they visited. She also took many many many pictures of Admiral as well trying to capture her for always. XXOO

I didn’t want to say it in the blog but Mom feels every photo now is a gift she will treasure and look at in times to come. I’m a pretty stubborn boy and will be here as long as I can of course but one day I’ll join Admiral and all our other friends and Mom wants to capture every single one of my poses and looks and my toesies while she can. I’m cooperating of course – she’s my Mom and I love her to bits!

I hope your Mom is alright Skyler – I remember you mentioning your Mom’s surgery. My Mom takes medication for her thyroid (hypothyroidism) – she says that we are the thyroid twins because I am hyperthyroid and she’s hypo. HAHAHA Anyway, please take good care of your Mom – we need them!

My mom is noisey too BUT my HEARING is fine and I hear every noise she makes.
We were very sad to read Forrest crossed over. One thing for sure he was loved to bits here on earth.

Isn’t it odd Sammy? I too like to sleep…I could sleep come rain or shine….it feels so good to relax and just nod off. Shoko is a pest cause she comes running in and wakes me with her nose. I can usually go right back to sleep if she leaves me be.

Awww…I loved this post. You are adorable when you are sleeping. But I am very sad to hear about Forrest…sigh…it always breaks my heart when I hear about a dear pet passing. I’ll be sending warm thoughts and prayers their way.

Oh goodie! I love it when people are in a huggy frame of mind. I’m a hugger too and my Mom is as well which she has to RESTRAIN herself from doing from time to time as a lot of humans seem to be “hands off”…..not us – we HUG!

Some of us are real talkers and others hardly squeak their whole lives. Mom’s last big ginger boy had a TINY little squeak and VERY rarely ever used it. He was the strong, silent type – just the opposite of me! I’m a screamer for sure. I think you’d better get yourself some earplugs NOW before Ralphie gets any older!

Yo Sammy! I think there should be a sleeping Olympics! I’d be in the sprint, the 10K, the Marathon and every other category. I mean, sometimes I run around like I am a crazy man, and sometimes (like today) the Human discovers toys scattered all around and she can tell I’ve had a playday–but as I get older (I’ll be 12 in a month or so) I find sleeping all curled up and comfortables is my favorite thing!
We loves you LOTS Sammy. In reading lately about so many furiends running off I am trying to really tell my kitty furiends like you how much I love you! We is going to stick around a good long time yet, I hope, but it never hurts to say these things. Right? XOXOXOXOOX

We love the quiet here where we live……….we do hear other people’s mowers working in their yard and a barking woofie now and again but most of the time it’s very nice and quiet!
