Rainy Day

Standard

Hi Peeps!   Yesterday was picture perfect – start to finish it was gorgeous.  YES it was cool – only got to the low 60s for a high – BUT not a cloud in the sky and only late in the afternoon did it become breezy.  My Dad got to go flying too which made him happy.

Warrenton viewed from a cockpit

Yep – this is my town – Warrenton, Virginia, from the air!

Dad putting the plane away in the hangar after flying

Dad putting his baby away after his flight………..

Mom and I were home all day yesterday and I must have asked her 87 bazillion times to take me outside for some fresh air.   It was great – and the grass is finally growing so I got some “fresh greens” while I was out there.

Front Garden 2012

Yep – my old friends are back again….one NICE thing about perennials!

Things are popping up – the dicentra are blooming and even the miniature Japanese Maple is just about ready to leaf out.   You might be able to see some of the Bradford pears in the background in bloom along the driveway.   NICE!

Anyway, I’m happy and even though today it’s going to be  raining – we need the rain………………gets the lawn fertilizer activated AND waters our gardens for FREE.    Nothing wrong with FREE right?

Enjoying the yard and the nice fresh air!

Ahhh…..it’s getting NICE out here!

Yeah I guess you could say I’m a happy guy…………………and lucky……………oh and SPOILED TOO – don’t forget that one!!!!

HAPPY THURSDAY!

Hugs, Sammy

  2. How nice that you are getting some outside time, Sammy! I want some of that too – my human has been so busy this week that I’ve barely gotten a quick walk out back on my leash (yes, Binga got to go out too)!

    • It’s truly fun to fly over our little town and see it with some perspective…..it’s grown a lot in the 20 years Mom and Dad have been here – I’ve seen changes in our neighborhood in my 16 years too!!!!!!

  6. SAMMY! Seeing you out there enjoying the warmer temps and the grass makes us happy here as well. Seriously. I love to see you happy. Tell your dad that mommy trained on a old Piper J3 until she “graduated’ to a Cessna. A lower end Cessna. She said she just used what the air strip had available for students. When she soloed she was saying all the instructors words aloud to “talk” herself through. Heeee.

    • Good for your Mommy! My Dad trained in a Cessna 150 and that’s what we have because he just loved flying it so much – this October he will have been flying for FIFTY YEARS!!!!!!!! Tell your Mom my Dad says hi to a fellow pillow!

  7. It’s good to see you out enjoying the grass and the fresh air, Sammy. We have nice sunny weather too and it should stay dry through the weekend. That is a good photo from your dad’s plane.

    • Hi Flynn! I agree – I think you and I both just feel BETTER when we’re outside roaming around. You have such beautiful fields to explore. My yard is smaller but I pretty much stick to right around the house anyway. We have no sun right now but I think we will get some on Sunday!

    • Hi Madi! When my Dad bought the plane it wasn’t the original color but he had it repainted with the ORIGINAL colors from the 1950s when it was built! As for me – I’m all original equipment (hahahaha).

Love and see you on the Quest!

    • I get a little frisky when it rains too – and at my age, frisky isn’t quite the same as YOUR frisky believe me but I do liven up a tad. My yard is fab but it’s been a long time since I walked around the whole thing – just don’t have the energy for it any more – I do enjoy looking at it and sniffing the fresh fresh though!

  11. Good morning Sammy,
Thanks for showing me where you live. Looks like a great town and area.
I’m glad things are growing and blossoming in your yard again. Here, our Bradford Pears [http://tinyurl.com/j4qsghv] have already shed their blossoms and are now a nice green.
Btw, could you send us some good rain? We did have a little lately, but after a January and February without any measurable precipitation we still direly need good and long-lasting rainfall. But I’m happy you can now munch on some green grass. Our four-legged crew likes that, too.
As to fertilizing: I need to do that soon. Just now I’m having our soil analyzed to find out which fertilizer and how much.
Hope your Dad will get more air-time soon.
    Have a great day,
    Pit & the feline crew

    • The rain is welcome this time of year really – gets things going after a long winter rest. The leaves are just starting to pop on the trees and the other things are unfolding their little selves after resting through the winter. It’s a wonderful time of the year really so a little rain doesn’t “rain on our parade” !!

  16. hi Sammy. I like to see you out on the lawn. It looks so soft and so do you. Mom’s garden is also looking wonderful so far. I can’t wait till things green up here. Still have bare trees and the lawn looks dead. Daddy’s brave to go in the air so high, looks beautiful though. Do you think his Airplane would look good as aqua? teehee 😀 xo Love and Hugs B
