Happy Friday – or – as we know it around my house – MONSTER DAY. The house gets the “works” from my Mom and Dad with the dusting, toilet cleaning, kitchen counters and sink cleaning, vacuuming – it’s the noisiest day of the week.
Broomhilda will arrive shortly and help but really it’s my Mom and Dad who do the BIG stuff………….Broomhilda mostly just likes her uniform!
A lot of us furries really just plain do NOT like all the flurry of activity, removal of dust bunnies, moving of our toys from spots we’ve stashed them, etc., but we DO appreciate a clean litterbox!
Some of us will even help our humans clean THEIR litterboxes! That’s what I call “above and beyond the call of dooooody” though!
It’s true that the only really EASY to clean thing in the entire house – is US!
Well, it’s been just swell talking to ya but I’ve gotta get going…………………..I gripe and complain a lot about cleaning day but in the end, I do help. Sort of. I mostly stay out of the way and that truly IS a big help………..I will also occasionally sweep the litter I toss out of my litterbox when I’m using it into a pile for Mom. I know – I’m spoiling her right? Well, maybe we should call my blog ONESPOILEDCATANDMOM???????????

I agree… one lick and we are as good as new.. we need no loud vacculas or brooms or brushes… I’m currently glad for the cold temperatures, so I can’t get a bath… someone yesterday said I would stink… imagine that :o(

The only way I can endure the closet monster is if I’m on my pawrent’s bed UNDER my blankie. But that doesn’t always happen. In that case, I just run and hide when mom (with the monster) gets to the room I’m in. The other day, I ran by her so fast to get out of the room, all she saw was a flash!
The bacon will be worth it, Sammy!

It is nice to clean on Friday so that all is clean for the weekend so it can get all dirty again and then feel like it needs to be cleaned on Monday! I need to clean my oven, which is self-cleaning but it has been so long I don’t think it will be able to do it all on its own!!!! Hang in there for Bacon Day!

Mom laughed at your self-cleaning oven thing – Mom’s got the same problem……but she’s threatening to do the self-clean thing next week so we’ll see how that goes!

Thank goodness my mom cleans in parts and pieces. One day she’ll dust everything, next day vacuum, and the bathrooms and my box are done on the weekend.

Dude, I toss my cookies when I hear that evil vacuum, unless my Aunt Becky is running it. Recently, it had to go to the Vaccum Hospital. Mama is picking it up today. If she runs it, I bet she puts me out on the deck……

Gosh Skyler you REALLY hate the vacuum don’t you! I have to say that since I’ve lost some of my hearing due to my ancient age (haha), I’m LESS afraid of the dumb vacuum. I SEE it but don’t hear it that much so I guess it’s the noise and not the THING that gets to me. Hang in there – maybe the vacuum hospital installed a MUFFLER on that thing and it won’t bother you!

You are lucky that your humans don’t clean you too! Being Sphynx, we need to be bathed every few weeks, since we don’t have any fur for our oils to distribute through. We hope you weren’t too disturbed by the cleaning monsters!

Do you enjoy getting a bath? If you like water and it feels good on your skin, then it’s not so bad having a bath every few weeks is it! I’ve only ever had ONE BATH – the day Mom brought me home from the shelter. I was tiny and stinky and needed a good clean-up. The cleaning monster did its’ thing and is safely back in the closet for another week – whew!

Siddhartha you truly do have a very impawtant job – being caretaker of a human is never easy……they think it’s tough to take care of US but it’s much harder for us to take care of THEM. You are doing a fine job – I’m sure Ladymum agrees. I’m excited that you may be getting some bacon for your refrigerator (and tummy!).

I’m with you Seville – it’s a lot of work staying gorgeous and I don’t mind doing it, but when it comes to other stuff – like my litter box (!) – that’s peep work. I can’t lug all that stuff out of the box when it needs it! Nope – no can do.
