CLEANINGBANNER

It’s that time again!

Get out the monster machine

and clean the house time!

UHOH.....it's BROOMhilda!

UHOH…..it’s BROOMhilda!

As if it weren’t enough of an insult to the ears having that vacuum monster machine here, there and everywhere we now have BROOMhilda wielding a wicked duster and broom so there truly is NO PEACE on a Friday around my abode.

CLEANINGDOC

Does this guy REALLY wanna know how it makes me feel???

CATMAD

This pretty well sums it up!

I made an effort not to cause any extra time needed for cleaning the house today – I did NOT toss toys indiscriminately under furniture so there would be no moving of chairs and the sofa to rescue victims of me playing with my toys:

Nope- you don't HAVE to move it this week!

Nope- you don’t HAVE to move it this week!

I even performed a little “re-con” mission around the place looking for any dust bunnies that I could go ahead and eliminate prior to the CLEAN-A-THON……..

Here bunny - come out wherever you are!!

Here bunny – come out wherever you are!!

So I really did try to make it a SHORT cleaning operation today……………………but in spite of all my effort, there was not only cleaning but laundry being done………so I got VERY LITTLE REST.   I’m exhausted.   Pooped.   In dire need of napping.

Don't I look PITIFUL?

Don’t I look PITIFUL?

Well, I will make up for lack of rest tomorrow…………it’s also bacon Caturday so that will also soothe my aching head and ears and tummy.   I’ll be happy…..again……….at least for another week.   Then we’ll have this little discussion AND this little “whine-o-blog” from me again next Friday.   There are some things you can count on in life – – – –

  • I’ll discuss bacon on Saturdays (and maybe Fridays before Bacon Saturdays)
  • I’ll complain about cleaning day
  • I’ll need lots of sympathy from my friends

Is that OK with you?

Sleepy Hugs,

Sammy

Whoops – before I forget……

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MO!

MO

What would we do without Mo keeping the Cat Blogosphere chugging along!

Hope it’s a super special birthday!

    • Oh wow – never heard of an Aventi but I’d be all for something LIGHT………we have a Dirt Devil and it weighs a ton……does a good job BUT I may plead “too heavy for my old back” with hubby and try for a NEW LIGHTWEIGHT model!

  1. At least you can count your blessings that it’s only once a week. Mom vacuums every single day AND she blames it on ME and my softy white furs! So unfair, but it’s gotten so I can sleep right through it, as long as she doesn’t get too close….

    • You’re furrier (hahaha) than I am dearest Cupcake…..I just don’t lose much of my hair – actually I don’t have all that much to lose anyway as I’m thinner and HAVE lost some hair due to my thyroid THING. ANYWAY, It’s mostly dusting around here – even with the HVAC filters being changed constantly, we have DUST……Mom’s a world champion duster!

    • I’m not entirely sure WHY we clean every Friday – we never have company and don’t have kids – just one 16 year old cat and let’s face it – how much of a mess can HE make?!?!?! It’s a habit…..but I suppose a GOOD habit in the scheme of things. Thanks for the follow….quite a while back I won a fab t-shirt from your shop in a contest that Leo the wild man had…..I love it…..Happy Friday!

  2. Routine can be good Sammy, but vacuums make me bark! Then I try to attack it. So since it’s just Mama & me, the Swiffer works downstairs. Only upstairs do we need that crazy thing. Just between us guys, Mama is kinda lax. Oh she takes out the garbage & recycling, wipes the counters, etc. but once a month, Ms Becky comes. I like Ms Becky, so I don’t bark when she works upstairs. This lack of barking when Ms Becky vaccums puzzles Mama to no end. Now Mama is genius at changing the HVAC filters. She writes the date she installs them, and voila, our lungs are safe inside for another month. Gotta love her! Take care my pal – I feel your pain ! Skyler B

    • Hi Skyler…..yes, we all suffer from some form of “Mom/Human Cleanaphobia” I think. Sooner or later cleaning happens and it interferes with our routines although it sounds like Ms Becky is on your “APPROVED” list of people to do that activity in your house. I usually just hide in the basement but in my old age I’ve become a BIT more adventurous. I go upstairs and peek through the railings down to the first floor and watch the vacuum…..you know – just in case it goes “rogue” and comes after me……..so far so good. But I’m keeping one eye on it anyway!

  3. The evil vacuum will make it’s appearance here tomorrow. I hide in the bedroom now because it is too cold and wet to hide in my plant pot. Mum says she really needs to vacuum the bedroom, but won’t do it when I am in there.

    • I bet you miss your plant pot when you can’t get to it……….I also bet your Mom wishes that with all the plant pot visits, you may have left a “Flynn seed” that will sprout one day and be you again, and again, and again.

      Love, Sammy 😉 😉

        • Oh indeed…..an Eric seed too. My Mom often says that (she doesn’t know I hear her though!) – that she wishes she could just pop some of my furs in a pot and grow a “new” baby Sam so she’d always and forever have “me” with her. I wouldn’t mind that…..I know your Mom wouldn’t mind it either……gotta love those Moms!

  7. We had our day yesterday! It was mostly the housekeepers – and I follow them around to make sure they are doing a good job, since my human is usually busy at the computer when they are here. But she also did THREE loads of laundry yesterday after they left! I helped with the sheet folding.

    • It’s good that you snoopervise the cleaners….I mean I’m sure they do their job but a peek over the shoulder never hurt did it?! Your human did THREE loads of laundry – wow…..nice that you helped with that too!!

    • I managed to wake Mom up this morning at 3AM! GOOD FOR ME!!! Just because she looked like a walking trainwreck with her hair in every direction and her eyes half shut doesn’t mean she couldn’t make bacon for me – right? Well, bless her old heart, that’s what she did (after she got dressed, fixed her hair and woke up a bit). I got my bacon fix already and it’s only 6:30AM! Pretty good huh? The old gray mare still has it (thanks to the ginger cat push, push, pushing the mare!).

      Love and HAPPY FISHY WEEKEND!

  9. Sammy, the vacula monster visited here yesterday, but Mom says he may need to make another call today because there are so many Sibe dust bunnies everywhere – that’s because it is so HOT here and we are shedding:)

    Happy weekend.

    • I bet your Sibe bunnies are quite numerous when they’re flying about…..long beautiful hair like yours – I don’t have that problem….I do shed, but Mom brushes me like THREE times a day (I love to pop up in her lap and have her brush me) so that keeps the fur issue to a minimum. Mostly it’s just dust – we have few visitors so the house stays spic and span!!!

    • Bacon isn’t exactly CHEAP here either dear boy……Mom and Dad like the thick cut stuff which is more expensive……I think it’s about the same price as yours or more sometimes depending on sales. But since they buy it for THEM and not really for ME, they do. I’m just “benefiting” from something THEY like because I get some too!!!!!

  11. Sammy, you do indeed look unhappy. Hope you ended up enjoying the laundry so you could get that new badge at Scouts. Also hope you got some good lap time. Mau is mad at Mom ’cause she forgot all about Fish fry Friday until a few minutes ago, and it appears everyone has gone home. • Hi Mau! Fish Fry night was a little wonky last night. Raz’s Mom and Dad were in a meeting, Pete was an hour late, so I kind of “made do” for a while but everybody got there eventually and it turned out well all things considered! I got my new Laundry badge – it was easy – Mom had just folded sheets and towels fresh out of the dryer yesterday and I pushed everything out of the way and fell asleep in the middle of it all. PERFECT for the badge! I love towels and sheets the BEST and I prefer CLEAN laundry to stinky!!!! HAHAHAHA
