January 2012 Snow

Early on it looked “manageable”……….

You may know that here in Virginia we got walloped by a big snowstorm starting yesterday noon – it’s still coming down and we’re supposed to have TWO FEET of it before it stops……………..so just wanted you to know that we’re OK, still have power, staying snugged in…….and warm!

ZZZZZZZ

ZZZZZZZ

WOW.....this mat is comfy!

WOW…..this mat is snuggly too!

SAMWINTER2015-2

Once in a while I turn over or get in a big ginger ball to keep warm

Meanwhile we had bacon YESTERDAY just because we were waiting for the snow to arrive and Mom thought we’d celebrate that with  bacon…..so I’m having a DOUBLE-BARREL BACON weekend!    Shall we go for a TRIPLE?????

Have a pawsome weekend……………………….whether you’re in the heat or the cold – be happy!   I sure am!

Love, Sammy

    • Hi Easy! Good Morning from ANTARCTICA! We have around 15 inches of snow and more coming down by the minute. We’ll have over two feet before it stops tonight. I’m enjoying my bacon this morning so who cares about snow right? Power hasn’t gone off……….YET!

She’s a special lady indeed but then so are YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy to learn that Nou Nou’s brother Pablo found his “forever” as well. We’re staying warm and snug here and it’s still snowing like mad. STAY WARM!

  1. Beautiful snow photo of your yard, Sammy. And we love the “bacon my heart” badge that sweet Nellie made for you. Glad you’re staying warm, and that you still have electricity! Hope you don’t get as much snow as the weather folks are predicting!

  2. So happy to hear you have BACON! And power. I am hoping the snow will taper off earlier than they expect. Maybe we can see a picture of your Dad with the snow blower… 🙂 Thinking of you! Keep warm, eat good FOOD, and work that bacon every chance you get. Oh, and be sure to ask Mom to let you out on the porch so you can see if it is spring yet, Sammy!

    • I plan to take pix. Right now the wind is blowing so hard you almost can’t see but one GOOD thing is that the wind is keeping the snow from building up on all the tree limbs and breaking them off. YAY for that – the Leyland cypress are all weighed down but they’re used to that. Chili is in the crockpot as we speak……………!!!!! I just checked the front porch again and spring is STILL not here – I yelled at her when I came in of course (after about two seconds on the porch!).

      • Sam, you tickle me so much! I was going to ask you to ask your Mom what was on the menu for today. I just can’t stop thinking about FOOD! Good news about the snow not building up on the tree limbs, I always worry about our cedars. Just keep checking that front porch because your Mom loves to let you check for spring!

        • Oh I’ll probably be asking Mom at least another half dozen times today to open that front door and I’ll hope there’s SUN and 70s out there. Mom can do everything else I want – why can’t she make it WARM AGAIN???!!!!! Oh well…..at least I have my BACON!

  3. Yay to extra bacon! Samantha is drooling from afar (I tell her she can enjoy bacon vicariously through Sammy’s blog but she can’t have any real bacon because of her…ahem…rotundity…).

Have a wonderful snow-watching day! Be sure to snuggle in a blanket to stay warm!

    • We’re staying cozy – wind is howling out there and more snow coming down. Just saw some pix on the news – nobody is moving on the roads (which is good) but it’s weird to see downtown Georgetown and around Washington, DC with NO TRAFFIC ANYWHERE! Bacon was delicious this morning and Sammy had an extra piece for your Sam (!!!!).

  4. Glad you’re cozy, Sammy! Here in NC they threatened ice, and some areas near us lost electricity. Luckily for the Schnauzer Ranch, we mostly got sleet yesterday and now it’s snowing. So less ice! We haven’t lost electricity, thank goodness, paws crossed. BUT no bacon! very jealous! stay warm,

  7. Nellie’s badge is too, too cute. We hope you get a triple bacon weekend. You deserve it. Our snow has pretty much stopped with 12 inches, not as much as was forecast. Hope the same happens for you. Stay snuggly warm. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

    • WOW – three feet is HUGE compared to our silly little 30 inches! At least ours has STOPPED and it’s going to be sunny today. My Dad’s heading out to tackle things in a little while…….Mom and I will be INSIDE keeping warm and toasty!

    • Thirty inches of the stuff was just a TAD too much though……….my Dad took three hours to SORT OF do the driveway with the snowthrower but the blizzard was so bad all the wind kept piling the snow back up. Today we have SUN so he’s heading out to “re-do” !!! NYC is getting hammered now.

    • Thank heavens Mom had PLENTY of bacon – we had it almost every day – bacon gives my Dad strength to plow the snow and gives Mom strength to deal with a screaming cat who is MAD he can’t go outside!!!!!
