Christmas Fun

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas………everywhere you go (oops…..this sounds like a song doesn’t it?!).    My little town of Warrenton puts on a great display down Main Street (all eight blocks of it) with little white lights in EVERY SINGLE store window – greenery around all the street lamps, and lots of window displays including some animations.

Here at my house, we have everything DONE inside and out.   My negligent Mom has still not gone outside at night to take photos of my outside lights but maybe I can get her to do that tonight.  Maybe.

Meanwhile I’m collecting a whole lot of Christmas cards of both type – ecards and “paper” cards – and my Mom and Dad only have a couple but I’m RAKING THEM IN!!!!    I’ve also had some surprise boxes arrive for ME from Scout friends – there are so many kind people in this world……..Mom won’t let me open a SINGLE thing until Christmas morning though.  HUMBUG MOM!

  6. it’s great when you are well prepared for Santa :o) we have to finish the ugly jim and my mom has to buy wrapping paper for the gifts, it’s the thirth time she has to wrap them, because there was someone who had to look inside of efurry gift :o)

    • HAHAHA……I figured your Mom would have to put the wrapped stuff WAY UP HIGH (like in the attic) to keep you from Unwrapping everything! Well, destruction is something you do SO well my friend! Ugly Jim looks pretty good in your photos with Santa today on your blog. I noticed that Santa had sweat pants on….but I figure that’s just to keep his “ornaments” warm while he flies around in the sky – right?????

    • Mom has been LAX in her duties lately – I lectured her yesterday about the outside light thing but today we have RAIN again so who knows when or if we’ll ever get that photo of OUTSIDE. It’s not much different than other years (!!!) but I think it looks nice looking up at the house on the hill!!!!!

    • Flynn, Mom just used the WordPress media thingie that lets us pick photos and jam them into a slideshow…..BUT it’s fun to see them all (or most of them anyway!). Mom didn’t remember to save them at first so we missed out on keeping a lot of them….don’t worry – I made my displeasure CLEAR on that error on her part! HAHA

  20. We just luv Christmas Sammy. And we bet yous house is just gawjus. You know we luv da lights of Christmas. Those are sum pawsum cards. Weez got more than mommy too. Weez twyin’ to make purretties wiff em to post Christmas Eve. Can’t wait to see all da pawsum surpwise gifts you got. Have a blest day.

    • Hi Dezi and Lexi…….The house looks nice but we don’t go too crazy with decorating……mostly we love having our Christmas tree up. Mom and Dad have collected ornaments from all their trips and have some of their childhood ornaments on there too and THAT’s always nice. Every ornament is a memory. Hope you girls are excited about Christmas too!

  21. Your mum is all done? Sadly, my peeps are getting worse and worse with the Christmas preparations each year. Just when I think think they’ve hit a new low… MOUSES! They manage to hit another. The tree is STILL not up although I have heard that might happen this weekend. Santa has STILL not collected the knitted biff bags for him to deliver on Christmas Eve. Again, I’m hoping to catch him this weekend. Peep hasn’t sent out cards yet and is ‘claiming’ it’s for the best as peeps might have a heart attack or something if they were to get their cards on time. And as for Christmas goodies… Let’s just say, I haven’t noticed any we we cats might like yet but I’m hoping for good things, soon. Heard the peeps talking and there might even be come real chicken coming our way in the next few days. As a cat living with a couple of veggies, I’m looking forward to that, for sure.

    • REAL CHICK-HEN? Well, Seville, that might be worth waiting patiently for. REAL food is scarce when you live with veggies that’s for sure! Everyone I know is behind for holiday stuff though except for my Mom. She promised last year there would be no last minute stuff and by golly she came through…….for once in her life!

    • You really do come up with some amazingly INTERESTING fish that I’ve never heard of……a mustache triggerfish sounds amazing. I’m gonna google! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend too full of fun, fresh fish, and maybe more presents under your tree????????

    • Wing bumps…..sounds like an ailment of some sort Kismet! Also I suppose wing bumps might cause there to be a problem with aerodynamics which would SLOW things down considerably for a BURD? Did I pass the test?

  28. Those are grate cardss there Unccle Sammy!!!!
    LadyMum has not dun our eCard yet….mee not sure if shee will get around to it. Shee iss not feelin good at all….thee Lidocaine shotss made her all weerd an woozy yesterday an thee rite knee iss still hertin her reel bad. Shee can not sit up fur long…mee iss on ‘Purr-amedic’ duty all thee time!!!
    Mee hopess shee will bee all rite….

    • Oh dearie me……you do have a lot of purramedic duty don’t you dear boy BUT you are VERY good at it and I know your Ladymum appreciates your staying close to her too. She shouldn’t worry about ecards or ANYTHING except enjoying some snuggle time with her favorite purramedic!

      • Unccle mee doess get time off frum midnite to 9 A EM. LadyMum sleepss till 6 A EM an then getss mee breakfast an goess back to sleep. Sumtimess mee napss with her on thee bed…just to bee close to her. Once shee getss up it iss ‘On duty’ fur mee!!!
        Thee Lidocaine iss werkin sumwhat better now…shoulderss an left knee an rite thigh good. Her S-I jointss are not too bad inn daytime butt nite time thee pain comess back 😦
        An her rite knee iss a toe-tal mess; shee must wear brace all day until bedtime or else thee pain iss turribull.
        One of her furendss frum Tem-pull brought her sum home made Shepherd’ss Pie fur tonite!!! That iss good! Mee cookin skillss not so good, mew mew mew….

          • Fankss Unccle Sammy fur beein so concerned about LadyMum….shee iss uppyrite today an shee did sum cleenin an mee snoopervized her. Made sure shee went slo like….Then mee told her to take a break an do sum Pee Cee werk….to rest 😉

  29. Some great Christmas cards there Sammy! Mine seemed to show extra words, which is a bit worrying!! I’ve grabbed yours as I didn’t have it! The Staff has been very lax of late helping me visit and blog! xxx

    • Austin we didn’t send many “paper” cards out this year – ecards are SO MUCH EASIER!!!!! Lazy? Well maybe Mom and I are getting lazy in our old age!!! Hope that Santa Paws finds your house this week my friend!

  30. Mee-you Unccle Sammy fankss fur thee compleemint…LadyMum was so tired last nite….wee played sum an snuggled an shee sang to mee….
    Today her knees are hertin again so BOTH bracss are goin on!! aunty Sheila iss takin LadyMum out to banks an Vet’ss (fur food an med) an then to 1 groceree store..that will bee more than enuff….
    Then mee bee back ‘on duty’! 😉
