Normal (?) Monday!

NEWS1

ANNOUNCEMENT?????  Well, sort of…..announcing another NORMAL Monday!!

With all the hubbub of the past week……..Halloween contests, blogs, parties, etc……it’s just plain NICE to come back to a QUIET and mostly normal Monday.    I say “mostly” because things are rarely NORMAL at my house but it’s as close as it gets!

I had a lot of fun attending Halloween parties, all over the blogosphere but today is all about getting ready for Tuesday Teaser.   I’m hard at work already trying to find a nice, juicy photo for you to take a look at tomorrow morning………….and I know you’re just DYING to have a chance to see it and guess – right?   RIGHT?   Oh good….sorry I didn’t hear you answer for a minute – maybe you needed to think about it?   HAHA

Where In The World Are We Going Tomorrow?

Where In The World Are We Going Tomorrow?

I’d like to tell you a few little goodie things today too other than remind you of the Teaser tomorrow.   First of all our super good friend Miss Layla of CatWisdom101 is undertaking a very new and super exciting adventure which revolves around her love of animals………and this really has so much potential to be HUGE in the world of pet blogging!    You simply MUST read about it for yourself…………….. just CLICK HERE to read her first post about her “Cat Film Fest At Sea” with an amazing cruise where the fun will just go on and on while you enjoy being on a huge cruise ship celebrating CATS – what else???!!!   This will be something new………AND fun.   Make sure you read all about it and there will be MORE information coming as time goes on but 2016 is gonna be a blast!   The ship the film fest will be held on is AMAZING…………..take a peek at the post and see what I mean!

LAYLAFILMFEST

Another thing I want to tell you about is the significant need there is to remember the adult/senior cat (or other pet) who is in need of a forever home JUST AS MUCH as a kitten or puppy, etc.   So many people don’t even consider that you can get just as much love from an older pet as you can a “baby” or young one.   Older pets find themselves sometimes living in foster situations for YEARS AND YEARS rather than get adopted and find their REAL forever home.    Help spread the word and the work of people like Savannah’s (from Savannah’s Paw Tracks Blog) Mom and Dad who work tirelessly at shelters and often see these older pets languishing in cages or facilities for months and sometimes years hoping every time someone comes in the door that this MIGHT be their chance!  Savvy is just finishing up a series on adult fosters and rescues and you can read some of the stories HERE.   Please take time to do that – their stories – like so many others all of us know, will touch your hearts.

Beautiful Savvy and her parents work HARD for those who need help!

Beautiful Savvy and her parents work HARD for those who need help!

So – some serious stuff – some FUN stuff – and some reminder stuff all jammed up in this Monday morning blog post…………….and I do hope that I will see you here bright and early (or maybe not so early) tomorrow for Tuesday Teaser!!!

Hugs, Sammy

Love a NORMAL Monday!

  2. I was almost a senior pet when Mom said the word, “Put her back. She’s too old.” I was 3. Mom thought she needed a puppy. Boy was she wrong! We hope all senior pets find forever homes like I did.

    • Your Mom saw that cute face of yours and those gorgeous eyes and KNEW you were “THE ONE”…..sometimes we have to INSIST but in the end humans know a bargain when they see one! HAHAHA Seniors are just as loving and sweet as pups and kittens…….and just as deserving! Hugs, Sammy

    • We wanted to share the news about your new venture and the wonderful cruise opportunity – I’m thinking it will be a BIG HIT for you and everyone who goes along for the fun. As for older pets deserving “forevers” – we REALLY wish people would realize seniors ARE just as fun as youngsters and deserve a home maybe even more…………

  4. Excellent post Sammy.I feel especially bad for senior pets who have had homes for so long and then lose them when their folks go to nursing homes, etc. I know many people hesitate to adopt them because they know heart break will come too soon. I would love to go on that cruise, but I never leave my cats for more than a night.

    • My Mom and Dad have never been on a BIG BOAT cruise and prefer the river boat cruises – only 150 passengers! You can get to know everyone……..! Senior pets are wise, wonderful, and have so much love to give – we deserve our FOREVERS just like everyone else does!!!

    • GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! After Halloween we’re hoping for some peace and quiet too – the human Halloween this year was boring compared to my Halloween – I didn’t stop for a second! This old cat is POOPED!

  5. Wonderful post today Sammy. Thank you for mentioning that older cats in shelters need love and companionship too. They certainly deserve to live their waining years with comfort and love. I’m so glad I was rescued as a senior by my mom.

    • Hi Charles! Thanks for the positive reinforcement! We are passionate about senior animals being just as loving and fun as “baby animals” are – we’ve learned how to behave, we know how to give our all, and most of all we deserve to have a SAFE place to call home! Here’s to seniors! YAY!!!!

  6. What Savvy and her humans are doing is so wonderful. Mom read Layla’s post with interest, but that ship is way too much for her. Big crowds are not her thing. Those kitty people who do attend are going to have a great time! See you tomorrow for the teaser. Thanks for a great Sam-o-ween party! • Yes, Savvy’s parents do SO MUCH….we just wish we could do more here but we’ll always be happy to “spread the news” about the good work others are doing. We’re with you on the cruise too – David and I are small river boat cruise people and probably will never do the BIG BOAT experience. I should think you forget you’re on a ship when you’re on those whereas river cruise ships you’re loving being on the water. Anyway, it’s going to be a wonderful opportunity for those who enjoy it! Thanks for coming to Sammy’s party – it was a blast!

  7. I think senior cats need permanent homes even worse than kittens – and my human really hates to see them in shelters, or even at no-kill rescues, knowing that their chances of getting that home aren’t great.

  8. This is not a normal Monday Sammy. You are announcing some pretty important items. The older kitties deserve the right to be adopted as much as little ones. They are older kits and way more cuddley. You understand don’t you Sammy?

    • Oh indeed I do understand – being almost 16 I totally understand. Of course cats OUR age are not very common in a shelter but lots of “middle aged” cats are and they need homes too!

  11. Great post Sammy, especially about the senior pets. People always want the cutle little ones when really an older pet (we have to include dogs too) would be more suited to their home. The young ones are soo rambunctious sometimes.
And now we are off to see what Layla is up too!

    • Yes….I think those little ones are so very tempting because they’re lively and perky whereas the older kitties and dogs are more settled and calm and don’t draw as much attention to themselves. BUT they have just as much love to give and NEED just as much love. We wanted to express that “out loud”. Layla has a very cool new venture going – so exciting!
