It’s MY Day!

Standard

This one is for you little Siddhartha!!

Happy Bacon Day!!!   I know Saturday means a whole lot more to ALL of us than bacon (right?) but for me, it’s one of the highlights of my week – along with Tuesday Teaser of course.  Bacon is  heading my way this morning…..Mom says Dad has requested a “bacon/egg/cheese” (just like McD’s only BETTER…….we’ll call it McMom’s) sandwich and I’ll of course skip the egg and cheese and head for the “good stuff” !!

BACONEGGCHEESE

I’m reading all the time about who likes what in the way of cat food – or doggy food  too……..some like meat, some like chicken, some like fish, some like ANYTHING………..here’s your chance to chime in……….why am I askin’ ?  Just because I wanna know (and/or I’m nosey):

I’m a seafood guy………..although the other day just for fun Mom gave me a meat thing  and after she smashed it all up so there were no chunks, I actually kind of liked it!    I eat both wet and dry food.

But today isn’t about all of that – it’s about BACON!

BACONBEG1

I’m constantly amazed at what people find online that is “related” (sometimes very DISTANTLY related!) to bacon………like bacon scented deodorant (huh?)  or bacon shaped bandaids.  It’s a wacky world isn’t it?

EEEEEK! Say it isn't so!

EEEEEK! Say it isn’t so!

We are finally having some SUNSHINE starting today…….I’m looking forward to a sun puddle after a week of rain.  YAY!    Yesterday was dreary until late afternoon when the  blue sky managed to peek out of a few holes in the clouds.   The rain stopped  in the morning just in time for our Arborist to arrive.   She was super nice – she also said that while we do in fact have some DEAD leylands that should be removed, the rest of them needed some  pruning and thinning and  they didn’t need to come down – at least yet – maybe for a few years even – so Mom and Dad are happy about that.   We do want to eventually replace them  though as they are taller than our house  and now that they’re old, they no longer screen the view on one side of our house (the view is of our neighbors messy garage, kids toys, basketball net, volleyball net, skateboards,  canoe, and six cars) so we’ll get something  that acts as a screen BUT does not grow 60 feet tall.   The Arborist knew her stuff too – if you have any issues with any of your trees, consider going straight to an expert – this lady is an Arborist with a really well respected tree company that does everything from A-Z  with trees.  Considering how much money most landscaping costs, it’s worth it to have someone who KNOWS  things take a look at your trees first!

That’s the end of my lecture……………I can hear the magic sound of bacon cooking………..come to think of it, I can smell it too and you know how GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD that smell is!

HAPPY SATURDAY

(WITH OR WITHOUT BACON)

  1. I never even heard of an arborist, but I’m happy your mom called her to double check before getting crazy with cutting down trees. What a cool job to have.

  2. We love EVERYTHING! We haven’t met a food we didn’t like!!

We’re glad all of your trees don’t have to come down. We have palm trees that are healthy but have grown way beyond their shade/view screen size. Dad wants to take one of them down but the tree person talked him out of it right now because the tree is so healthy.

    Enjoy your BACON!!!

    • Bacon was DELISH…..as always. You can’t count on a lot of stuff in life but you can ALWAYS count on bacon being delish! HAHAHAHA Mom and Dad are glad they didnt’ take the landscape guy’s advice and whack down all the HEALTHY leylands……getting a professional’s opinion was definitely worth it – AND it was free!

  6. I am glad that not all your trees have to come down.
I voted! I like wet food the best and prefer meat. I don’t like fish flavours at the moment – at all. Mum thinks it is because it was my favourite when I became ill and so I associate it with that.
My mum has those bacon egg and cheese baps on the ship sometimes for breakfast. Dad goes down and asks for a “fully loaded” then brings that and her cappuccino up to the cabin so she can have breakfast on the balcony. I think he spoils her!

  7. I am glad you can keep some of your trees. In our town, you can only have one unregistered car on a property so if those cars are not registered, I would report them. On the survey, I answered for my Sammy- he likes everything. He will see you later today at the party.

  9. No bacon for me today! Maybe some day I’ll have some again someday – although next year’s BlogPaws is at some sort of resort spa with “healthy” food so I may not have bacon then either!

You probably guessed I am the one who listed “cantaloupe” under “Other!”

  13. That survey was so easy – there isn’t much of anything we won’t eat, but fish is probably our favorite!!!

Mom agrees about the arborist. Better to spend the money before the trees are cut down because once it is a done deed, there is no turning around:(

  14. Happy Baconator Day Sammy….its your day. Now, why would anyone walk around smelling like bacon? This peep would attract every dog and cat in the neighbourhood. Seems weird to me…if someone was cooking bacon….this peep would never know…he smells like his food.

Your Arborist sounds knowledgeable. Woohoo…you get to keep some trees for awhile longer. Mom knows an arborist but he lives in Toronto so he won’t be helping us any.

  15. Bacon deodorant is going just too far. I guess if you want your pets always trying to sniff or lick your armpits, it’s a great way to go, but REALLY!
