Happy Monster Day! Today’s the day Mom gets the vacuum cleaner out of its’ safe enclosure and turns it loose on the house. I think of it kinda like some of you humans might remember the “monster that lives under your bed” thing when you were little kids!

Well, for me, that’s kinda what it’s like on cleaning day. Sad isn’t it? I’m almost sixteen years old and I’m STILL hating that vacuum cleaner. Mom says maybe I need some therapy – purrrrhaps the animal psychiatrist could help with that. There’s a Doctor Pugster in town – I may go see him.
On the other hand, maybe I should just MAN-UP and put my big boy panties on and let it roll…………after all, I’ve never been attacked by the thing, never had my tail sucked up accidentally……and I definitely have big boy panties I could wear (hahahahaha).
EEEEEK!
I’m going for it today…………………I’m gonna stand right there while the machine is in the SAME room with me………I’m gonna STARE it down………..it’s either HIM/HER/IT or me and it isn’t gonna be me! I’ll report on what happened as soon as I come out of the coma induced by my uncontrollable fear of the danged thing.

Yayy, I’m first! Why can’t I do that on Tuesdays? I don’t like the monster either. Mum used to have a cat who loved to be gently vacuumed.

Hi Flynn!!!! If you can do it on a Friday you CAN do it on a Tuesday – I’m SURE of it! We have seen videos of kitties who love the vacuum – woofies too – we just don’t “GET IT” !!!!

I like your courage, S. Good luck with your plan to face down the vacuum. I am not afraid of it, which is a good thing, since Mom unleashes it EVERY SINGLE DAY. And sometimes twice a day. She says it’s my fault. Apparently, everything around here is my fault…..

I think your feelings toward the monster are completely normal for us felines, Sammy. But, I think I mentioned to you that, one time, I was under my blankie on my pawrents’ bed, and Motor Mommy vaccumed around and under the bed, and I wasn’t scared at all!!! It was a miracle…!

Sammy, I think it’s okay to be afraid of the super sucker and as we get older it is okay to say the h e double L with it and climb in our tent or under our blankie for a bit! Ask for BACON to calm your nerves! And tell your Mom that, NO, we did not celebrate appropriately for National Hamburger Day yesterday but I am sure we can make up for it! Be brave, Sammy! My 5-lb sister, Eggnog, challenges the vacuum every week when it attacks her corner. She doesn’t back down until it moves on. [I, however, make scarce.] And if you need a therapy referral, I’m sure Walter would be happy to give you his analyst’s name. Or maybe you’d like to talk to my neighbor, the Life Coach, Baby Girl? She gives GREAT advice!

Oh cousin I feel you. All of us anipals use to run and hide in my bedroom while the monster came out. Now, it’s great that we have hardwood floors – no more monsters! Can you say jump for joybells? Oh I forgot that with the change in flooring NO MORE MONSTER FOR YOU! That’s fabulous! The Swiffer thing looks fun – my Mom uses the WET Swiffer to do her kitchen floors and I like the lemony smell of the stuff she uses to clean with BUTTTTT the vacuum I’m afraid is here to stay as long as we have mostly wall to wall………BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I know that some animals like the vacuum cleaner – they ride around on it, or love to feel it on their furs, but I’m NOT one of those – I like PEACE AND QUIET and only like the BRUSH on my furs – not a sucky monster!!!

Hi Nellie! No you don’t need a support group – but maybe I do! Seems a lot of animals like that sucky monster thing to run all over their furs – so purrrhaps I’m the “different” one???!!!
